  1. We wouldn't know. I mean, for all we know, the aliens could have mushroom size and that screenshot shows as big as it gets.
  2. Is it just me or does doWatch not work reliable anymore? I have a scene in which a vehicle is firing on certain positions (helper objects). This always worked, but now I've noticed that... it doesn't anymore. The vehicle actually does "look" into the direction, but it won't point its gun directly at the object anymore, resulting in every shot completely missing. The catch is, though, if I let the vehicle target the player... he suddenly is able to move his gun up and down again. I'm toying around with it for a while now and it's slowly driving me nuts.
  3. Wasn't the last word that the campaign won't hit dev-branch before release? Not that I would mind if it arrives this week, but it wasn't talked about anymore since.
  4. You don't have to put them up that high. They make a great base for the anti-air assets if you just flip down the sides 45° and keep the platform as low to the ground that the edges are touching down. It looks pretty good and much better than having the turrets sit on plain earth.
  5. Don't expect too much, as it was said already.. OP hasn't even logged in anymore since the thread was created.

    ArmA 3: Dunes

Thanks! Yes, the whole gunship scene is scripted. It was neccessary because the small map caused lots of issues for the helicopter ai... After hours upon hours of rage filled bug hunting, I decided to pre-record all flight paths: Arrival, fireteam dropoff, as well as the returning flybys are all custom made via various tricks I've learned over the years. I think it ended up being 3 or 4mb of text files just with recorded flight coordinates. The whole behaviour is running in it's own tiny fsm file which also controls when to fire missiles, etc. Certainly could be handled a lot better, but well... I tried to make the most out of it in the little time I had left.

    ArmA 3: Dunes

It is about 2 years since the release of Callsign Minotaur. I'm still hard at work on my follow-up project, but after such a long time, I really needed time off of it. I had a bit of vacation as well, so I used this to do something radically different: Create something, anything in one week. And thus, this is what I did. Years before the "East Wind" crisis, a small group of CTRG operators make their way through the dunes of North Africa to collect tangible information on CSAT's secret weapons project. Overview Dunes is a (very) short, story driven campaign scenario that comes with a desert themed map. This project has been made within the scope of 7 days. (Well, almost. Issues with the voice over production sadly resulted in a delayed release.) Dunes is also my very first terrain in this engine. I've started experimenting with map creation about one or so weeks prior, to learn more about its creation process. After a couple initial hiccups, it started to shape up quite nice, though, which then sparked the plan to not just throw it on the workshop and be done with it, but to turn it into something better... and bigger. Keep in mind that at the end of the day, this is still nothing but a small project which I have used to test heightmaps, textures, clutter, and everything else related to map making. Download > Steam Workshop Mods Dunes doesn’t require any mods to run. Any gameplay changing mods should be disabled while playing the campaign, as these can cause negative side effects. ArmA 3: Dunes

The headgear is pretty cool. Where is this from?
  9. I'm really curious what these other changes are that make it potentially conflict with "the greater sandbox".
  10. Rule of cool - bullpup looks better. Also the MSBS-K would probably look too similar to what we already have with the MX and SPAR. Either way, players would probably complain that the other variant is missing.
  11. Guys, I'm posting outside of the A3 board for the very first time ever because of this... its ANNOYING. The forum constantly shows me as logged out, then I go into a different board and I'm logged in again. If I go back to the board before, it shows me as logged out again... ffs. Not just on my computer, but also on mobile phone. This is since weeks and feels like nothing is being done about it.
  12. Actually the outside border terrain is auto-generated and can't be manually flattened.
  13. Shit I didn't even know that until now. I always avoided using any item with a DLC icon next to it. How can I really make sure that an object isn't actually tied to a DLC?
  14. I'm not BI but the answer is no.
  15. Reactivate the mod, load the mission in 3den, save the mission without binarizing. Close the game, open the mission.sqm with a text editor (as example Notepad... not WordPad) and remove the mod dependency. If you already saved over your mission file like in your screenshots, then you've destroyed it.
  16. I always thought the explosive specialist is the only one who disarms bombs. Isn't it all a bit redundant? Why do I need either if the engineer does both?
  17. It's one guy complaining. Nothing will change.
  18. Could do a quick retexture and add it as a new unique diving gear object. Likely won't happen, but the idea is nice.
  19. Because vanilla A3 has no use for them? There are no gas grenades or other chemical weapons, thus there is no need for any "native functionality" - besides, a semi-skilled scripter can make his own thing in less than 5 minutes.
  20. That's the problem with generalizations. It's never "everyone" but groups can be very loud. 😆
  21. Read the changelog - UGV / vehicles aren't in the game yet, so obviously assembling from the backpack will throw an error.
  22. Well, lore wise you can argue that their suits are already air-tight, so they only need the masks in combination with these suits and their helmets.

    Arma 3 DLC - CONTACT

Very late. Vehicles are still missing now and it was said that in the beginning that the campaign might not get to the dev-branch pre-release at all.
  24. Wouldn't mind a futuristic neo-prussia. Hmmm.
