Payday2 has 40 paid DLCs for a total value of 182€. BIS so far only released four DLCs after four years of continuous support... The whole DLC bundle 2 is 23€ anyway, and quite a bit less for third worlders... Seems to me you the greedy one here boy. Anyway enjoy your ban, I don't think anti semitism has its place here.

We need AMD Ryzen Benchmarks! Share your toughts!
dunedain replied to clawhammer's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
That's just the Windows thread scheduler doing its thing. The Real Virtuality, afaik, only supports two simultaneous threads. I've had my I5 3570k for five years already... I've been meaning to upgrade for a whole year already, had huge hopes for Ryzen. I guess I'll just wait and see if six core Coffee lake are worth the money. -
Excellent! Just tried the Tanks showcase and it's working great. That's the kind of features I really like to see personally.

Yes, and according to some benchmarks AMD's SMT is actually having a negative impact on some games. -

A couple more here... pclab.pl/art72996.html The results aren't surprising really. Even an I5 2500k on stock frequencies is just a dozen frames below, a seven year old CPU... -
Well I just tried the supports showcase, and it's getting old. I still get my fov locked zoomed in after using the sniper scope and the artillery module is broke, it only shoots one round at a time.

Maybe you should have watched his video mate then... You can clearly hear the building collapsing a couple of seconds before you hear the explosion. Anyway hyped with the new vehicle speed of sound simulation, the way you always heard the engine stop way before you can hear the crash really bugged me.

Yeah, afaik they stopped distributing personal editions of VBS a while ago. We'll see how TitanIM will turn out over time. It has whole planets, okay cool, however the fidelity on the ground, from what they showed, doesn't seem quite rich and detailed enough to make a fun and rewarding tactical shooter imo. It seems like, once more, people are getting overhyped over the vastness of procedurally generated worlds.
-
Yes indeed, and as I mentioned the action itself isn't responsive at all. With the exception of LMGs and MMGs, You should always be able to raise your weapon instantaneously. Right now, I'll stick to keep toggle tactical pace and weapon raised at all time in CQC. The raise weapon action is still not reliable and just too dangerous to use. They fixed the rest though, so it means someone must be working on it. :o

Seems like 1.66 fixed most movement issues I had since at least 1.62... Like my tactical pace toggle key combinaison not responding, being locked into movement whenever I switched pace or toggle raise weapon not sticking ect.. It feels a lot smoother now. However toggle raise weapon still feels a bit unresponsive at times and does lock you into movement for a couple of seconds which can be pretty dangerous. Still props for fixing most of it, I can play the game again without losing my hairs because my character does things on its own. ;)

It just plays a sound when you calibrate your optics or sights.

I really fail to see how Arma would benefit from planet wide maps... This is a a combined arms tactical shooter with a well rounded sandbox element. A video game, not a training tool. You can already have pretty big maps on Arma. I'ld rather they improve performances while increasing complexity of future Arma maps rather than make vast but ugly and empty worlds. If anything Arma should focus on improving CQC with support for large and complex underground structures and AIs that can actually perform in interiors. Anyway VBS does the planetwide rendering as well. It probably doesn't have deformable ground, but still looks as good if not better than TitanIM. https://youtu.be/N39Vn3rY8rY

Lets get Arma 3 elected for a steam award!
dunedain replied to silentghoust's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That's where I put it too. -
I've played it since the very beginning, had access to wipeout at some point, lost my progression three times because of formats and not bothering saving my profiles. I still play it now and then but nevermind this is not a discussion worth having..

Sure the current implementation isn't ideal at all. After all these years, ACE2 still beats Arma3 hands down when it comes to realistically portray fire-control systems without even making the game any more complicated to handle. But still people with the patience to grind long enough to use jets have always been indulging in raping the whole map on KOTH, and more so because jets are rightfully very powerful rather than any sort of hard earned skill. Wouldn't it be KOTH's devs responsability to better design their mission rather than Bohemia to always wonder what effect every single change might have on that particular gamemode?
-
Sigh... KOTH was always an absolute nightmare of a grindfest with jets raping everyone and overall awful balance. It tries to be Battlefield, except it's really bad at it. I'ld very worried if BIS started being concerned with muh skill and balance in KOTH rather than improving on overall realism and developing authentic weapon systems for aircrafts and armored vehicles.

You need a 64bit operating system. 7.5% of Steam users still use a 32bit windows, so they wouldn't be able to play anymore unless they switch to a 64bit os. Anyway dunno if they only changed it recently, but minimum requirements for Arma 3 on Steam say windows 7 64bit.

3770k to 6700k performance review with ram\cache scaling
dunedain replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Might because you're comparing standard spec mass produced DDR4 to high end DDR3. -
I haven't been playing much Arma 3 since Apex was released tbh but the game feels more buggy than ever to me. Seems like the movements took two steps backward since 1.62. I use ctrl+x for tactical pace toggle, ctrl+c for walking pace toggle, shift to run and the angle brackets key "azerty keyboard" to raise/lower weapon. In both tactical and walking pace if I try to raise and down my weapon too much I'll often end up locked in forward motion and the controls become unresponsive. In both tactical and walking pace if I try to raise my weapon with the fire key "H&D2 style" rather than using the dedicated key my character will stop moving until the weapon is raised. In normal pace too when you raise your weapon and it lowers itself automatically after a few seconds the character stops moving briefly while the animation plays. Again with the tactical pace, which is most often toggled while I play, sometimes and again this is inconsistent I'll be locked out of tactical pace meaning I'm not able to keep my weapon raised and ctrl+x becomes unresponsive. Only quick way to fix it I found is to switch to walking pace and back, so twice ctrl+c for me. I'm sorry but that's just bad. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't always so... Moreover patch 1.64 added a very annoying sound glitch, at least for me. The third person voices of the npcs sound very saturated at least in solo missions. That's just awful. My computer was formated right after Apex got out, so it's a clean install on windows10 anniversary edition.

Or maybe the GTX1060 3GB is simply superior as far as DX11 games are concerned thank to better optimized drivers?

I don't mind either way, I'm more interested in getting my hands on that MP5 coming with Apex tbh. Why should Valve do anything about it? It's BIS' responsability to monitor the place. Valve only offers the tools. Anyway the whole point of the workshop is to encourage contributions and for people to share their work, the fact the quality isn't always and that people wrongly use categories is no argument. The stealing of mods is a true shame though but BIS could do something about it as well. I find it odd that you can be exluded from anywhere on Steam but somehow the workshop would be any different. Anyway tldr, at least 375k people do use the workshop seeing this is the number of people suscribed to CBA. I'ld guess this is a huge success for Bohemia, and the people humble enough who just like their mods to spread large, at least.

Yeah, same here.
