Lone Wolf… please be more consistent
Matthew Aiken replied to MourningStarV's topic in General Discussion
Quite simply put I doubt there are enough players in this game to allow every single solo player to have a lobby full of teams each just gotta accept it’s probably gonna happen, though I am curious if anything could be done to cater to lone wolf needs like an option to pop up asking if your happy to join a game that’s been found but has some other solos in it or allow the player to opt to keep waiting for a game with only teams to show up. 🧐- 2 replies

So having played the new season for the first day a few flaws have been identified #1 explosion radius: guy was camping in the back of a truck on batterie, I rolled a perfect grenade in there, didn’t do any damage, theory? Grenade landed in the front outlander hit at the back, logic dictates this shouldn’t have mattered in this context and he should have least took some damage. #2 difficulty in throwing grenades into doorways, there’s an overarching throw display but this makes you aim high consequently bouncing it off the wall and not into the room. We could benefit from two means of throwing the grenade, overarm and underarm for shorter range but easier doorway clearing. #3 a somewhat disappointing visual and audio effect on explosion. This one is somewhat what quality of life than mechanically based both the smoke effect in my view is lacklustre and the explosion being the same as a contact bomb doesn’t quite sit right with me, personally a slightly different identifying explosion would be better. anyway that’s my current two bits on grenades this season 🤷♂️

We already get several months per season pass plus double xp weekends throughout, I don’t see the value of this sadly.

I agree with the some of this mainly the ability to heal while prone. Fun customisation would be cool but not sure how that factor into balancing unless it’s purely cosmetic. Melee attacks for sure need serious work and I think it’s even been acknowledged by the devs that this is something being looked at needs to be faster to be competitive takes too long to reliably land a hit. Window climbing is indeed an issue I would also like to see fixed and I see further issues upcoming when it comes to yeeting grenades through doorways and windows alike, waiting on that result. Flinching I can understand to an extent, it’s a game mechanic meant to give a fighting chance for the attacker, if your landing your shots you get rewarded. Forces tactical play and cover to avoid being hit now that said if your shot in the shoulder as apposed to say the foot (forcing and Limp or stagger) then yes it should be reduced. Likewise if your hit in the arm it’s logical your aim may sway and drift more. Shot through the chest without armor on? Temporary loss of stamina from being “winded” just some ideas there. I think overall the grenade is a test concept for vigor, if it plays out well and is well received I can see other grenade types like a stun grenade for instance being possible. I’m nervous at the thought of a smoke grenade though, here’s why. Ever shot locks off container and got the raid flares and mortars? Laggy as hell probably due to lower fps if we start allowing smoke grenades for every player I see more crashes in the horizon caused by frame nightmares. More work needed to correct this, I see smoke grenades causing memory stack issues.

Hmm possibly though we have to think on both sides of the coin here on the one hand it’s a nice thought to be able to scoop up a few more of those guns from a cleared or almost cleared lobby, if you’ve won the battle and your last standing it’s only fair you should be able to grab more of the loot as a reward. On the other hand people already complain about being too slow as it is even though nothing has changed as such. This could prove annoying and it could also take away guns from a player who’s simply late to the party to scoop up the remains of someone else’s fight. Many times I’ve turned up to the sound of fighting only to find whoever won has already cleared out but couldn’t carry it all. Dregs can sometimes be nice. If everyone had this “legendary duffel bag” only a couple of people will benefit. If a fair and balanced compromise can be reached I could support this idea but I think we need to drill down to brass tacks on how it would work fundamentally. Think from a development side of things, how viable is it as an idea? Will it hurt their business model? Will enough players want it spuring sufficient demand? This outlander is staying hopeful 🙂 would like to carry at least one or two more guns like a gun holster or bandolier logically could perhaps this could tie into backpack weight limit? Loot less take more guns instead.

The signal jammer I have no issues with balancing wise as it’s intended to hide you from portables and signal scans I think it’s fair that If your within a portable jammers range it’s a reasonable cost to stay hidden. As for the bombs 100% agree minus the initial planting of a bomb that I feel personally is okay for balancing sake if someone is close enough to why hear you plant a bomb that’s their own risk and reward. Bombs should be planted when there’s time to do so. On that note if you know someone’s outside plant a fake gunshot decoy before planting bombs? 🙂 we need a marker on the map or some other “team” indicator like “bomb location” assuming of course this doesn’t case performance issues in the form of on screen clutter.

No problem 🙂 sorry if the reply was downtrodding the idea we all want better loot from the airdrop among other things but we have to think from the development side of things to and try to conjure up compromises both sides can agree on. While my idea I posted a while back is more engaging it’s also mechanic heavy so I don’t expect it will get implemented. Need to think of cool ways to evolve the game that’s acceptable enough for the dev team to bring into effect. Not in the least an easy job to do! But keep at it!

This is an Awful idea you want to turn the airdrop into a gambling simulator in which boosting with crowns only has a chance to get a higher level crate, I prefer the predictability of boosting = rewards. If I’m boosting I don’t want a 79% chance of a green crate I want the green crate. Adding variable percentage chances muddies things. Sorry but for me this isn’t the way to innovate the airdrop system. The airdrop mechanic is stale because nobody needs loot plain and simple that’s why you see so many common crate Games. Either we need more loot to make crates attractive again or make airdrops more fun to grab.I made a post some time ago suggesting new modifiers on rotation for the airdrop to make gameplay more varied and diverse. But again like I say we just need new guns, skins and generally just new cool stuff that can only be grabbed from crates to incentivise earning them.

Clan/Group Shelters & Suggestions
Matthew Aiken replied to QuietJoey's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Of these I only really like the idea of remotely activating decoys and maybe sharing limited items like ammo and heals but not loot as it’s pretty much redundant for most veteran players these days devs have hands down said they won’t be adding loot sharing anyway but we hold out hope for ammo and heal exchange maybe. Perhaps a button to share a stack of ammo? Purchasing crates with crowns would incentivise pay to win (do we really want that?) given they give weapon plans and a chance at crowns I doubt this could be implemented nor would it serve a valid place in an update. Anyways hope I’ve not been too negative on your efforts to come up with some cool ideas 🙂 there are a couple of decent shouts there I just know a couple of them probably won’t be implemented. Still keep them coming! I know I keep trying! Haha- 2 replies

There are currently issues with the psd that the devs are aware of. Currently their only useful for learning if someone is still in the match late game beyond this the signals that are pinged are just random. Best to avoid using them or take the information they give with a pinch of salt. It’s good training anyway to learn to survive without knowing where everyone is, it’s more fun anyway ^_^
-
Portables are broken anyway 🤷♂️ I for one like the limit to consumables, “outlander hunting” is a thing of the past. Or at least for the most part anyway I can “survive” more easily now
-
Unfortunately not no but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any further updates 😁 like I say just save the portables for now and play classic vigor. Hunt by sound 🔔 and sight 👀 nobody’s gonna find you right now if you play smart so enjoy the broken mess that is the portable detectors! 😁
-
Portables are bugged, the devs acknowledged this in their most recent dev stream and are working on it I believe. In the meantime I recommend not using or bringing portables other than for end of encounters to see if anyone at all is left in the lobby. It will still show you if there are no signals detected to save you camping for that drop etc but other than that just save them until the next patch comes and Fixes it.
-
Oh are we talking about airdrops? I noticed a bug once in which I crashed on bridges after picking up the crate, could be a random bug.
-
Did you already complete the season in question? If so you’ll not get anything though I am still trying to fully figure this out myself for those who didn’t fully finish it first time around.
-
Matchmaking is frustrating. Still.
Matthew Aiken replied to anthony weston's topic in General Discussion
Plus it should be added consumables have now been limited so “hunting outlanders” is less likely to be a thing. Keep playing smart and you’ll be fine ^_^ sorry can’t really add much without rehashing what’s already been said, worth noting though that even i, a veteran to this game get by with only around a 54% survival rate which is still decent I win more than I lose but then again I get greedy and try to grab weapons or airdrops 😅 🔫 📦. Basically I’m saying it can happen to anyone, it’s just the way the game plays but those few beautiful game series you do get make it all worth it! You go into a game with an akm some fandoms boost the crate, maybe you get lucky and find the red box of valuables and escape immediately. Maybe you spawn close to buried stash and decide you wanna leave right away. Magic happens 🙂 -
I’d like to bump this idea too! Adds some room for flashlight 🔦 and flare type items as well as no Google’s, for a future battlepass. Street lighting, camp fires and lightning strikes could all play a part in night mode maps 🙂 lit up airplane ✈️ car alarms setting off flashing lights and motion triggered door lights on urban maps. The list goes on I think this is an amazing idea!
-
Just a quick suggestion but I think vigor could benefit from an apex legends style loot hot zone marked by a similar green airdrop style map circle or some other identifier where a specially higher loot prevalence could exist, perhaps like the red valuable box this is instead a valuable consumables and resource container, perhaps a blue box situation but a different colour and requires instead of a 4 digit combo a 5 digit one or you can shoot it but sound an alarm In the process. Alternatively it could simply be more loot in a small given area for any lootable containers not including points of interest liked barred or tuned safe etc. Or maybe it could? 🤔Could be cool in my view but if anyone could pitch in their own thoughts and it’s potential viability I’d appreciate it ^_^ hey someone could even buy a new encounter booster to spawn in and upgrade the loot hot zone!

Hi there! So a bit of a odd post here but I wanted to ask around and see if anyone is an official vigor partner and what they did to become one. I’m a close friend to a twitch streamer who’s played the game since beta and he lives and breaths the stuff! He’s always wanted to be a vigor partner but I’ve no idea what one has to do to become one. He’s probably one of the top players on the leaderboards but doesn’t have that huge a following. Again sorry for rooting on the horn here just wanting to help him out with some info. Any devs or current vigor partners able to shed some light on this? 🙂

Not sure if it’s just this map or not but I get to the end of the pre lobby countdown then punted to the shelter screen immediately each time. Somethings gone a bit wrong here xD seems to be a server issue as it happens while in the shelter too most sad
-
It appears there’s a way to rapid fire weapons xD can the devs please make a note of this hilarious exploit as much as I love how ridiculous it is it needs patching lol update: works on EVERY bolt action weapon..... update 2: svd rapid fire 😱 Map after some extensive testing it works for every single weapon in the game. Not sure if I should explain it fully here but hopefully this gets fixed soon. Equip any weapon then equip any secondary, fire the primary weapon by hitting fire and y button at the same time then stash the secondary, go into encounter with glitched gun

My Wish List/ Suggestions
Matthew Aiken replied to TheBanceyChancer's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I support most of these ideally fully! I would argue weapon balancing is fine as is at present and that actually many pistols are still very much effective! Love the map ideas and some of the game mode ideas I can see many of the weapon suggestions coming into play at some stage. I can’t see a shop for weapon plans being viable but one could hope frankly. Not many people still contributing here as of late so it’s nice o see some effort put in to feedback with the outlandish BI crew. 😁👍 -
Indeed i have logged many hours 😁 people seek hyper realism in this game as I’ve noticed and it’s all fair points though there is a certain balance to be struck between realism and “gamey” mechanics. Glad to see the mortars gone wouldn’t quite be so glad to see the glints go as sometimes even then it isn’t enough. It rewards anyone with a keen eye that someone is or has been there (for the likes of fake glints) be yes I do see how it can be seen from both sides of the coin 😁

No exp requirements are the same it seems as are the drops in crate exp and exp boosters from battlepass rewards. The only boon here is that eventually we can replay previous seasons and gain progress on both (allegedly soon). Still that said with one new weapon and with none of my crates yielding the missing plans I have need of this is sadly a bit of a flop. They got some things right as always such as removing the camping mortars, adding back a loot event to the middle ground we wanted and even boosted what you can get in there. Still can’t shake the lack lustre feel though. I’ve heard rumours these legacy seasons we may need to pay for which also is a bad omen. 👿

Hello all I’m sure your all eager and ready for season 8! 😁 me personally? I’ve saved up approximately 420 airdrop crates of mixed rarity ready to dump into a nice little head start and I’m hoping I get some of the older weapon plans I missed from previous seasons. Failing that I’m going to try for a week 1 finish to this season. Hoping crate exp won’t be nerfed this season to reward the patience I’ve endured in not opening any of my boxes even the fancy gold ones! Anyone out there manage to save up more than me?
