genpatton043 10 Posted June 23, 2010 I'd say your utilization is pretty good. See Real Virtuality Going Multicore.---------- Post added at 11:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:33 AM ---------- I would assume remove Oktane's NOBLUR mod. I do not have that, nor Kegetys. I tried not using GLT 4 also and still got the same error.
Dwarden 1125 Posted June 23, 2010 I do not have that, nor Kegetys. I tried not using GLT 4 also and still got the same error. sounds like trying run the wrong binary with wrong Dta\bin.pbo make sure you use the proper shortcut or commandline \ARMA 2\beta\arma2.exe -mod=beta
Michael Withstand 10 Posted June 24, 2010 Just delete the "beta" folder, or better yet, rename it with the version number so you can switch back and forth between different betas. Thanks :)
MavericK96 0 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Just tested this, and as with the modified LAA .exe from the previous build, this build seems to fix the issue I was having here. However, sometimes after I Suspend a mission (such as the bmCoastalFlight benchmark) with this build, the game will lock up, and I am required to open Task Manager to close the program. Has anyone else run into this issue? EDIT: Posted a CIT ticket here: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11435 Edited June 24, 2010 by MavericK96

Fireball 16 Posted June 24, 2010 It seems to me that tree LODs (or LOD switching) had been modified. They look now much more proper and foto realistic, but FPS suffers during flight. This is also apparent in my latest Coastal Flight BM run; - blue is 70951 with exThreads=3 - yellow is 71213 with exThreads=7 - red is 71726 with exThreads=7 As you can see, latest beta hogs flight view performance pretty much. I like the view though. It would be a good compromise to switch to low LODs if FPS drops below 15, IMO.
InFireBaptize 0 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Played for half an hour, RAM usage was at 2.29GB, CPU at points hit up to 90%. No mods, played bear rising, exThreads=7. CPU O.C to 3.8Ghz. No CTD I will test more and report. Edit: my windows 7 eats up about 1GB, sometimes less, about 800MB if i run Game booster. MavericK96 0 Posted June 24, 2010 I just did some more testing, and running ArmAIIMark causes the game to lock up for me. It happens every time in exactly the same spot during Test 3 when you start to see the colored smoke popping near the tanks. I've reported it in this ticket since it is similar to the other issue I am having with lock-ups. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11435
tonygrunt 10 Posted June 24, 2010 I can reproduce ArmAIIMark freezing on the 3rd test that MavericK96 found. Updated on his CIT ticket.
h - 169 Posted June 24, 2010 No problems here this far. Running without addons and in SP, don't do MP so wouldn't know about it. Played for 2-3 hours last night and had no problems, no crashes or anything. Win7 Ultimate 64bit Q6600 @3.2Ghz 4Gb RAM ATI 4890 1Gb

[kh]jman 49 Posted June 24, 2010 more people are needed to test this beta build !and if you have any crashes with these builds then asap share crashdumps (CIT, upload somewhere or send to me) We tested the new beta server and build with an MP event last night. Very nice performance and no crashes. The only issues were some peoples internet connections dropping out and not related to ArmA2. it's a lot smoother, an increase in FPS and better lod switching certainly on my rig. I recorded the whole event. Wednesday 23rd June 2010. Omission War Coop Event: Runtime 1 hour 16 minutes. Excellent beta BIS!.
AnimalMother92 10 Posted June 24, 2010 So far the beta seems very smooth, but I haven't noticed any more RAM being used than normal. 8gbs RAM Win 7 x64 no maxmem set
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) I'm getting great RAM usage (up to ~5.5GB at times), but am now being plagued by a ingame lockup. Seems to relate to Windoze 7 x64. If you get one, post here and vote, would you kindly. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11435 Edited June 24, 2010 by CameronMcDonald

AnimalMother92 10 Posted June 24, 2010 Is there a recommended page file size (initial and maximum values)? I'm running an SSD as well.
MavericK96 0 Posted June 24, 2010 Is there a recommended page file size (initial and maximum values)? I'm running an SSD as well. I've been wondering this, as well. Not really sure how much is necessary. Oh, and regarding page files in relation to the freezing problem, my page file is 6 GB minimum I believe, and I get the freezing issue, so it's not that. rksl-rock 1301 Posted June 24, 2010 Seem to have found the mod causing my crashes with this new build:RKSL. Hope the info is of help to someone. Richey79 10 Posted June 24, 2010 Cheers Rock. I added my .RPT and crash dump. Crash dump reports 'The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.' I tested in Flashpoint:Utes. The game ran with stutters for a minute, then CTDs, presumably when a helo launches counter-measures, but it wasn't within the player's view. All works fine with vanilla (71726, natch). InFireBaptize 0 Posted June 24, 2010 How did you verify the 2.29GB? well it wasn't 2.29GB all for arma, i edited my post, windows 7 uses about 800-1GB of ram. I wasn't running anything else not even TRACKIR. Run the game on window mode and run your resource monitor.
jumpinghubert 49 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) win7 64bit: 2,29-2,5GB max on ressource monitor (1gb before arma2 starting). I set ingame all to max (3Dres, graphics, visibility to 10000m, AA) to raise ram usage Edited June 24, 2010 by JumpingHubert
