trickster1982 10 Posted January 31, 2010 Liking the watchtower mission, came across a couple of AI bugs in there but when I reloaded my last save point they didnt happen again. The first was when the squad disembarks from the truck, two of them stayed put & wouldnt move! The second was in Zelenogorsk, the squad got about a third of the way into the town, then stopped & wouldnt move anymore! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Mysteryman5150 10 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice work again Jelliz;). All along the watch tower may be your best yet. Not to take away from the Episode 1-4 missions, all very good. As I've said before, I like your style. You don't overcomplicate the mission, which allows the player to just get into a nice flow. Thank you, and I hope you keep them coming:). zoog 18 Posted February 8, 2010 Just finished Watchtower and the first two episodes, must say it's a really nice atmosphere (and cinematic intro's). I also like the look of the battlefield, with crashed choppers and collapsed houses. With the added immersion of armor/heli's fighting on the battlefield (especially Watchtower), it really feels right. Some (constructive) feedback: - in mission 1 & 2 (only played those of the campaign) you get inserted really close to the objectives. I would expect that such close insertions would be dangerous because of enemy presence. - the text in the briefings is pretty short, especially since this is made more as a story kind of missions. Some extra background would be nice, also some reason why e.g. the specific factory needs to be taken in mission 2, just some general background story and reasons behind certain objectives. - although you need to have the resources, I think custom voices for the text would be a great addition to the missions. Most missions coming out now are ACE dependant. However, I do believe there is still a good amount of people who prefer not to use it. It would definately be a great loss to me as I really do enjoy your missions very much. I play SP and it is getting harder and harder to find new missions. Thank you for running a poll. Nothing against ACE, it's a great mod, but it's still in beta and the community is split up due to some people having simply used the old mod installation method, and others using the updater which is updated quite frequently. As an example, alot of the more recent ACE dependant missions won't run for me. It seems people are now making missions with the latest features they would of got in the many updates. I figure i'll wait until ACE is finished before i worry too much - I got it on the first public release just to see what they've done, and it's great but i think you've already done an excellent job on these missions without ACE or any other mod. Perhaps when the final version of ACE is released you could put up another poll, or just go with zoog's idea and make two versions (though i'd assume that would take more time..). CarlGustaffa 4 Posted February 12, 2010 Voted no as well. I love ACE, but for me it's a multiplayer only thing. AI have no clue as to what ACE gives them and must be careful about. Give an AI an RPG7 and he'll likely to kill off his own squad due to backblast. Also, ACE is still beta, meaning keeping up with ACE for mission to remain compatible would create additional work you might not want. I've downloaded a lot of "ACE missions" that just generates a whole lot of error messages. Got a few in this first mission as well, maybe because I play from the editor? Ive also retextured some units to use in the campaign which will revolve around a CDF intelligence operative. It will be different to the other missions, but not advanced 12 man high command squad leading. But i will probably release a mission like that before the campaign:) EDIT: By like that i mean like my previous scenarios.
