Stagler 39 Posted March 20, 2010 There are two missions on Thirsk, two on Winter Thirsk, Three on Podagorsk and one on Chernarus. This campaign is more conventional warfare focussed. With TFB giving support to Coalition and Indiginous forces when Russian invades Thirsk and Podagorsk.

old_painless 182 Posted March 26, 2010 Does someone find workaround for freezing after dificulty screen? Still got problems with that:(Edit: I redownloaded all needed addons. Try it with/out ACE. Still can't run this. Does addons needed to load in concrete order? Hi Lepssa, I just downloaded the campaign and the addons. I launch through Alpinestars launcher and got that problem too (no particular addon load order selected in the launcher). After selecting difficulty, it gave a message (No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds.0'). You may be seeing that one, too ? It turns out that I made a noob mistake: I placed the campaign pbo in my Missions folder - only place that made sense to me even though it said to place it into the Campaigns folder (see, I did read the install instructions :o), because I did not have a Campaigns folder. From reading this thread, it turns out that you have to create a Campaigns folder in the main Arma2 folder and place the pbo file in that. After I corrected that mistake, I could then start the campaign. Phew, 3 hours of download and trial-and-error. Can't wait to start playing the campaign
Liam!!!! 10 Posted March 29, 2010 I am halfway through mission 1 and I must say that this is decent work for a first time mission maker! :) The mission itself is fun and stealth oriented. Get detected and you will use up however many mags you bring to the battle. Rambo DOESN'T WORK even if you are a crack shot! Gotta say I was challenged and I had fun. :) My team got clipped up real bad when a whole company of enemies appeared near the factory when we were detected. The few of us were down on ammo and had to make a hasty retreat and then we got systematically torn apart real quick. :)My wishlist for future SAS campaigns: 1. british voice acting... kinda wierd with all that americano accent ahahhaa 2. a storyline 3. Give the guys UK weapons by default. Player can change if they want to. I armed my team with GPMGs and FALs when I played. :) My wishlist for current SAS campaign: 1. Complete mission 1! ahahahhaha! Great work, keep it up! :) The SAS rarely use British wepons or equipment, because most of it is outdated shi*e.
kMaN175 34 Posted March 29, 2010 The SAS rarely use British wepons or equipment, because most of it is outdated shi*e. He is right, they love the M4's and the US kit! They still have their old helmets, well they did a couple years ago anyway.
=kct=blackmamba 44 Posted March 29, 2010 the SAS uses even older MP5's, no.. i think wat SAS uses depends on the task given. the SAS isnt like a normal soldier they are specialists... correct me if im wrong but i believe they use the M16.
Stagler 39 Posted April 5, 2010 They use neither the M4 or the M16. They use the L119A1
=kct=blackmamba 44 Posted April 5, 2010 could be true, my source was maybe 4 years old... but i found one that gives a pretty clear view at wat they use. http://www.whodareswins.com/weapons-and-tactics.html
SASrecon 0 Posted April 5, 2010 correct me if im wrong but i believe they use the M16. That's what I thought too. M4 is used more by American special forces than British afaik
hawkinge 10 Posted April 5, 2010 The sas were using m16s in the 'Bravo Two Zero' era of legendary Andy McNab. Even tho that was years ago, it's not completely rubbish to see them with yank rifles.
Stagler 39 Posted April 6, 2010 The L119A1 is the C8 Carbine SFW
=kct=blackmamba 44 Posted April 6, 2010 aaah thats a canadian M16 as i said my source was a litle outdated and in 5 years time they could use anything by now. :)
Vartuoosi 0 Posted April 16, 2010 I get this error message when starting the first mission: "campaigns\sas-taskforceblack1.0\missions\m1-operation%20morning%20storm.fdf_isle1_a\mission.sqm/mission/groups/item0/vehicles/item0.vehicle:vehicle class raf-chin47 no longer exists" I have all of the required addons installed and I'm not running Ace or anything like that. Narcosis 10 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Can some one help please, i get a popup message when i click on the sas campaign, "Cannot load texture campaigns\sas-taskforceblack\untitled jpg1". No image for the campaign is showing. i get to the menue where i have to click start to play the campaign, and the game freezes. I have all the latest addons for this campaign and have downloaded all files 3 times. Is the problem to do with the addons or the PBO file? I have tested the SAS Task Force Black Campaign PBO file with out using addons and the exact same problem occurs. I also noticed that the file i download from the link says ver105 but when you unzipp it says ver 1.0 ! Edited April 18, 2010 by Narcosis

Stagler 39 Posted April 18, 2010 It says 1.0 but it is 1.5. I just never changed the name so you can just overwrite the previous file in there.

Villain. 11 Posted April 19, 2010 Nice campaign mate - Took me a while to finally finish it but it was well worth it. I was surprised to see the SCUD being used too, don't think i've found another mission that has it. Looking forward to the next installment. :) Keep up the good work.
