CombatComm 10 Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Rocks can provide for cover. Large boulders and such. Taller patches of grass everyonce and while. Hills provide cover. It would provide players with a bit of challenge in using the terrain and not so much the foilage as cover. Poking just their heads and rifles over the top of berms and road side ditches. Storming the volcano from the valley below would be a challenge but could provide for a diff kind of battle. The use of smoke grenades and tanks deploying their smoke canisters. Illuminations flares in the sky as platoons dodge artillery strikes in open field. Man I can see it now. I am getting excited for this one. The stable frame rate alone would be an amazing plus! And regards to the campaign and having American forces. A more realistic approach would be to have the russian fighting along side the americans. The russians, chinease and americans all fighting against each other on the political level upon discovery of oil! Than in exchange for sharing the oil reserves they become allies and fight the chinease together on the island. Smaller contingent of Russian forces. Like in Namalsk at some areas Sumrak added these grey rockpiles kinda - if objects like that where matching in textures with the ground it would be sharper dips and such. Since ARMA's "resolution" or what you call it on islands is low and only supports smaller hills instead of sharper small ups and downs. Thinking about having some here and there and not too much ofcourse as that would maybe lower the performance a lot? I dont know how this works though - just an idea. Island looking great so far btw!
