our download server should be working ok? works for me

We've got people trying to get it in Denmark, New York and London and the behaviour's always the same: The server manages to send a few megabytes and then the download hangs. After a few minutes of sending nothing, the server drops the connection.

You might want to speak to whoever's providing the server... I can probably get more diagnostic info if you need it.

Hi egg beast, or anyone else who can help me.

I have been loving your mission, but have another couple of questions about a dedicated server.

Cant seem to get the full mission running in takistan evolution us. I loads and all harly any vehicles and such are there or any of the features, it just seems to not have all the needed files for OA(which is what we are running the dedi from)

I can run the mission from my computer if i launch combined ops(steam) everything works fine but thats not dedicated. If u launch OA only then i cant run the takistan mission because is says its lacking files(obviously from arma 2)

So i guess the real question is what files does OA need put in the addons to make your brilliant mission run in dedicated mode?

Btw 4 mates and i had a go last night with me playing and being the server(through combined ops) and it was awesome!,Big learnig curve for us noobs but absolutely brilliant. Thanks again.

Btw have you added any OA -only scripting commands? Just wondering how difficult it would be to convert it back to ArmA2 -only

cheers man. the v31 is the almost perfectly working template of the mission - we have all put in hours and hours to get it almost 99% bug free.

there are still lots of little annoying bugs tracked here:

In fairness he has put evo on a lot of islands with a lot of addons and made very regular updates. Wouldnt say they were "spammed" versions. His version of evolution is very very good.

kinda harsh to call it spammed tbh.

Those of us working on evo (razor, me, toxim, etc) regularly post in here (depending on who is active at the time).

Personally speaking, I create separate posts for island or mod variants of evolution so people can feedback in those threads rather than in here.

As this was the original Evolution mission thread, which had kinda gone dead, I used my common sense and added to it rather than making a new one, so if people search Evolution, they find this thread and can then find any mission variants easily as well as general discussions on the mission (that apply to all or many variants)... it's no big deal.

Evo is not up there like it used to be, and I think this is caused by the buggy half-finished version that came out just after Arma2 was released. The community is working on it though, so hopefully, it will become more widespread again in future.

when you look at Minoza's noble but unfinished attempt at putting ACE2 into evo, you can see why it's important to try and keep the threads together in one family. we could still have a crack at this sometime...

There are still loads of bugs to iron out (See Toxims report in the bug thread) but they're not too bad these days.

in terms of WIP

- we are revising all of the GITS versions (all 21 of them!) using the new base mission (with maximum fixes).

- BigPickle is busting a gut to make a 1944 version as we speak, including planes from The Few and Invasion 1944 vehicles and units:

because each is a different mission in a different stage of development... and many are modded so have their own modlists, and they are linked by the island makers from their island threads or websites etc... do I really need to justify this to you?
