F-117A NightHawk - Alpha Released

According to the manual of FreeFalcon 5 (yeah, I've got professional sources ;) ) the F-117 can carry two of pretty much every bomb in the USAF arsenal, as long as they fit in the bay.

No guns, no radar though, Sidewinders might be a therotical possibilty, but would not be of much use, I think.

Dale Brown's novels come to mind. Plant a rotary launcher in this puppy and have 2 Sidewinders for defense and whatever offensive missiles you want and your set.

I'm a little confused with some of the features in this, I got the targeting down perfectly, really nice system, but what is the waypoint system? I just don't get it, am I supposed to be seeing something new on my HUD or is my jet supposed to start flying at a smooth consistent altitude towards the waypoint? if it is supposed to be either of those it's just not happening.

I mean, I must be missing something, I'm pressing "M" to go into the map and clicking places to place my waypoint but the only result I'm getting is a marker on the map, nothing more.

EDIT:

Scratch that, I just noticed what the waypoint system does, but I'm still having a little pain of keeping the jet level as I am targeting, not nice while your targeting your jet is making like a space shuttle and shooting for the moon.

Damn! this is the most detailed cockpit EVER! Love how all the panel flickers to life when the aircraft starts up!!!!

Is anyone going to make a campaign or mission based on this please? :)

I am stuck when i click that one option at looking at the ground, even after dropping my bombs, how do i go back?

Is this still being worked on? I would love a fix for the brake chute issue...

Fortran, are you still working this? If not are you open to someone else finishing it?

Wow sorry guys, haven't been able to work on any mod's or even play any games since I released the Alpha. Currently working 2 jobs while getting the money together for a new house so just don't have the time right now. Would love to get this finished if I find some spare time soon. If not then if there is any dedicated forum member who would like to assist getting this finished then I might consider handing it over if I'm not going to have the time to do it myself.

Once again sorry for the lack of response or info. Hopefully can get this to a final stable release build sometime soon.

Nice to hear youre still around mate, but sad about the 2 job thing.

My 1 job is nearly equivelent to 2 but I might be able to help seeing ArmA2 aircraft is generally one of my areas.

Whats actually on the "To Do" list?

well the downlink flir is broken, once in camera mode, there is no way to get out of it :S

I think this is on the "To Do" list:

The following bugs/issues will be addressed in the final or updated release(s) of this asset.

01: GBU-27's can currently be fired with the weapon bay closed.

02: GBU-27's do not fall from lowered proxy position (weapon cradle down).

03: DLIR Sensor script can only be executed once per session.

04: Textures are VERY VERY WIP, no shaders, no normal/spec maps, just a simple diffuse.

05: When taking off, if the execution of the takeoff is not perfect the brake chute might deploy.

06: It is not known at this time if the scripts associated with the F-117A will work in MP.

07: The F-117A currently uses the A-10 soundset.

08: GBU-27's can still be fired outside of the DLIR script system, however this may cause damage to the plane.

09: Illuminated cockpit textures (used for day & night) appear a little too bright during daytime.

10: Loading BOOT BIOS screens may flicker when loading for the first time per session.

11: BETA Gauge (H-AOA) does not currently display H-AOA date but rather rudder data.

12: Currently only one waypoint may be created on the map using the waypointing system.

13: Pilot actions can be performed outside of the plane (ie opening the weapon bay or using the DLIR sensor)

14: Currently only 1 LOD, no shadow LOD and no wreck model.
