eJay 1 Posted August 5, 2009 Already downloading 1.03, but I have a question: what about future beta patches for Steam users? Do you have a plan to solve autopatching issue?
Binkowski 26 Posted August 5, 2009 The next thing we wait for is the editing tools....once those are released....I have nothing to wait for.

Placebo 29 Posted August 5, 2009 Already downloading 1.03, but I have a question: what about future beta patches for Steam users? Do you have a plan to solve autopatching issue? Beta patches will run as a mod folder, so as Steam version can use mod folder then Steam version can run beta patches, without affecting the core installation or auto-update. Mikobiko 10 Posted August 5, 2009 Just confirmed that -server isn't working. Placebo can you give any news on a dedicated server binary? People in my clan are already unable to play now because it wasn't released and there steam updated...
Path-x 10 Posted August 5, 2009 It looks good. I am downloading it.

Placebo, you might want to give Dwarden a nudge to update the official Steam FAQ with this info. Having beta patches not supported (until now) was a deciding factor in many (including myself) not buying off of Steam. Cheers!
shuko 59 Posted August 5, 2009 Am I missing something? I've bought, downloaded/installed 1.02 from Steam. Played it for weeks. Now, Steam is downloading the whole 4GB+ (?) again, for a small 130MB patch? Seems pretty silly to me.
enforcer1975 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Missing server.exe???
Tankbuster 1744 Posted August 5, 2009 Can we get a dedicated exe? The patch is kind of pointless if there is no servers for it... Yep. Good question.
Kevin5 10 Posted August 5, 2009 I'm wondering if it is safe to update the dedicated server to 1.03 with Steam, as I still only see a beta 1.02 file for download. Any instructions are appreciated.

enforcer1975 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Got the same problem with steam, seems like its downloading 4GB+ That's why i stopped getting games via steam that are sure to receive plenty of patches. Have fun downloading the whole package every time.:pet2:
Placebo 29 Posted August 5, 2009 Dedicated server will be released later, no idea when that later will be, but it goes without saying it will be as soon as we possibly can release it.

cjsoques 0 Posted August 5, 2009 That's why i stopped getting games via steam that are sure to receive plenty of patches.Have fun downloading the whole package every time.:pet2: This is really fustrating... 1) Patch is downloading 25kb/s I get 800kbs-1mbs usually 2) After 45min it is only 1% done, is it downloading the whole game!? Shoulda gotten the retail if so

Though, it's not that big of a problem, just need to turn off the auto update from now on so I can pick when it's going to download all that.
Thirdup 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Dedicated server will be released later, no idea when that later will be, but it goes without saying it will be as soon as we possibly can release it. So client 1.03 IS compatable with the pre-existing dedicated server install? Just making sure (I just instructed my group to patch up and there will be some unhappy folks if they can't get online). Grizzle 0 Posted August 5, 2009 That's why i stopped getting games via steam that are sure to receive plenty of patches.Have fun downloading the whole package every time.:pet2: That's just patently untrue. The majority of patches through Steam are just that, patches like everywhere else. This is the first game I've seen that is DL'ing something larger than the normal patch. Thirdup 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Fuck. Unreal. OK, thanks. Damage control mode while I go try to head-off my clan from patching. :(

I agree, im not sure where he is getting his information from, but this is the only time i have ever had to re download the entire thing.
-1PARA- Oblivion 10 Posted August 5, 2009 i find it amazing that when they made and released this patch, someone didnt stop and think to check whether the server files where available to release as well, considering they have effectively broken my ARMA2.....
