Beta patches will run as a mod folder, so as Steam version can use mod folder then Steam version can run beta patches, without affecting the core installation or auto-update.

Having beta patches not supported (until now) was a deciding factor in many (including myself) not buying off of Steam.

Am I missing something? I've bought, downloaded/installed 1.02 from Steam. Played it for weeks. Now, Steam is downloading the whole 4GB+ (?) again, for a small 130MB patch? Seems pretty silly to me.

This is really fustrating...

1) Patch is downloading 25kb/s I get 800kbs-1mbs usually

2) After 45min it is only 1% done, is it downloading the whole game!? Shoulda gotten the retail if so

Well, it's just dumb. Though, it's not that big of a problem, just need to turn off the auto update from now on so I can pick when it's going to download all that.

u cant play on any 1.02 servers if ur on 1.03. and as the server files arent out ur pretty much screwed.

...yeah which leaves me to believe it's not STEAM's fault since I have dozens of games on there and they just patch, not download the whole thing over again.

i find it amazing that when they made and released this patch, someone didnt stop and think to check whether the server files where available to release as well, considering they have effectively broken my ARMA2.....
