Community Made Addon: Mi-28

Recommended Posts

So there is now way having the p3d binarized, without the rvmat? Are you sure?

From the look of it, new shaders cannot be used with A1 binarizing.

In the editing forum :

If, you want to use these 'new' shaders etc. then for the moment probably don't binarize your model.

How can I create a "@Mod" Folder for the Mi-28? It doesnn´t work when I try to give it names like "@Mi-28"! :(

steps

1st: go to your arma2 folder

2nd: create a new folder an call it whatever you want, i. e. @havoc

3rd: create a new folder inside the @havoc folder and call it "addons" minus the ""

4th: copy the mil-28 pbo inside the @havoc\addons folder

5th: copy your arma2 quick access icon

6th: right click it, go to properties, then to destination and add -mod=@havoc at the end of the line

Or use an "aftermarket" community-made Arma 2 launcher (there are a few on Armaholic) - much better and more flexible way to run mods, especially when you start running 10+ mods.

Very good launcher that is small and easy. Handles profiles and modorder.

Link: ARMALAUNCH 1.2

Just make modfolders like @mod1, @mod2, @mod3 and the launcher when opening it will find these addons for you. Just add and go.

Dont forget as explained above me that inside the "@mod" folders you need another folder called Addons and inside that one you place the files. very important.

That´s exactly the way I did it, except Point 5 & 6, because I´m using a launcher for the mods.

Hmm, I´ll try it again, because this should be the correct way, don´t know why it doesn´t work...

Anyway, thanks for your help! :)

EDIT: Now it works! Strange, but I´m happy! :bounce3:

Any sound issues, I quickly checked through the thread but can't see any posted. I'm happy to tweak the sounds further if required so just let me know :)

As usual mi28 working great with crap load of addons. :)

However is there any possibility to remove the super shaders from inside? Those glares in the window feels a bit unrealistic and annoying.

Is it possible to roughen the super shader so it isnt super shiny? Not asking to do that here - just general question to you guys that knows these things.

Thanks again for a great addon all involved!

EDIT: Noticed the heli looks like this from shadow side: IMAGE

Lots of vertical lines.

I agree.

After some tests, it appears a bit glossy from the dark side, especially if you compare with others choppers.

Not so far from perfection now :)

The current super shader is a bit over the top at the moment (I cranked up the values because I couldn't see it ingame with the old tools) and I'm tweaking it now to make the reflection and specular power more subtle and realistic.

I also get one side of the Mi-28N textures shiny but the other size is faded.

It's top speed hit 388, a little high

Apart from that it looks like its coming along well
