Patch 1.03 suggestions

oh god no, I don't want to take all map to get to use my stinger for the aircraft to just spam its flares ala BF2 and then bugger off into the sunset

At least some type of way to know where the AAA is coming from like Radar Warning Receivers.

It would be realistic and besides the Sidewinder missiles that are used in Game are the inferior 9L version which didn't have that good all aspect capabilities like the 9M forward.

don't we get them? (I'm sure I've heard them in choppers, can't say for jets as I don't bother with them often... that is what that frantic beeping is isn't it?)

Just two little wishes:

1. Fix the so called "overdraw"-bug. When looking at vegetation closely, sometimes I get terrible performance drops. I know this was a problem and was fixed in ArmA 1 (yes it WAS already fixed....) with a patch around 1.16 but how did BIS get it back into ArmA 2 ?!?!

2. Adapt the AI! I can play even on Cadet but the AI is too overpowered (compared to OFP). The difficulty just seems to reduce the shooting accuracy, but the AI still has superman senses in hearing and recognition of enemies in dense vegetation even when "SuperAI" is turned off.

Please fix these two, cause they are the only major problems that keep me away from playing this great game :( :(

Fix the AI. Just played a game as many times before, where the AI kills me with single AK-shots on distances around 600-700meters. I only manage to squeeze a couple of shoots at this distance before every enemy know where I am. Also with corners of houses ect. They manage to kill me, if i just have the top of my helmet visible (shoots through buildings)

Fix F-35 Rudder stability.

Forward looking infrared (FLIR) for tanks/aircraft (I know some of the aircraft don't ahve FLIR that is fine but their are ones that should)

And this is my own list of suggestions. They don't ask for a new gfx engine or 100 new weapons, they are things that I consider very doable with the current technology. Modders have either done it themselves for ArmA or will do for Arma 2 but would be much better if BI could devote resources to them. They are definitely not for patch 1.03, but possibly down the road.

- Javelin Interface. The weapon needs a proper, realistic interface, even if not all functions and operations are simulated. It is more or less a 2D screen with some "animated" graphic elements.

- Tank Weapon system upgrade, to include UAV's FLIR and distance reading to the target and maybe a switch to the AI even when the player is the gunner which would help simulate a bit the modern ballistic computer.

- More particle effects, including dust clouds with fence/wall destruction, water particle effects for swimming and splashing water and better boat wake and propeller effect.

- I would have loved to see more animation of parachuting, like hand movements and an actual landing, but that would be crossing the barrier from expanding what's there to creating entirely new content.

Something that dawned on me today when taking a paradrop over chernarus.

I just out of the c130 and dropped below. Upon landing I was hung it a tree with my feet touching the ground.

Could we please have a 'cut chute' command so if this happens, we can drop out of the tree, albeit with a broken coccyx ?

i have also noticed that if you do land on a slope, sometimes the chute does not fold up and stays as a solid inflated object.

anyone else had this happen to them ?

have you seriously not noticed?! Its an issue with all the fixed wing aircraft when travelling at high speeds usually 400 or greater... The yaw-ing alternates from full 'left' rudder to full 'right' rudder during fast sustained flight...

I'm missing an animation when a medic heals someone. Sure, the medic has an animation, he kneels down and it seems he's putting a satchel down. It's ok, there was no other animation since good old Flashpoint.

BUT the person who gets healed does nothing. You can still shoot, run away, whatever. I don't know why this got changed from OFP (don't know about ArmA 1).

Please put in an animation for the person, who gets healed.

Yeah... There is a glitch where half of someones headgear vanishes when you are standing right next to them, it is rather annoying and needs a serious fix or atleast make the characters hair more interesting.

Hi.

Im new on this forum. I'm not gonna write about upgreading bugs cause its obvious. I want to point you to do a better multiplayer browser. You should add "Friend list" , "Favourite servers", "History"(- list of servers where you played). The browser should show elapsed time on map and other details. We have year 2009 and the browser look worse than it was in multiplayer games in 1999.

Didn't notice that, again BIS forgot to include the holster pistol option? Geez... and if they do hopefully "civilians" will have that option too.

Sometimes when its raining there is no sound...

Make it hard for A.I to spot either enemy a.i or the player when prone in long grass...

Improve A.I it can be smart at times... but it also can be very stupid... i see so many choppers crash in to trees when flying low...

Sometimes when there is alot going on some sounds stop working... Reloading sound, running sound and rain sound ect...
