AMD.ATI 9.11 WHQL and 9.12 beta drivers
Fighting_steel replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I also have this problem (with 9.11 beta). I i thought it was LandTex 1.0 that was the reason. -
ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Fighting_steel replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Helped a bit, but not a lot. -
I am trying to edit the campaign missions as i want to change some vehicles and stuff to custom addons and such (did a lot of that with good old OPF), but i have a problem. I have found the missions in the missions.pbo. Did edit one and put it back, but when i revert that mission, the changes i made is not there. Have done the changes i both missions.pbo (from addon folder and from the Beta patch addon folder) Why dont the changes take affect? Does the game read the missions from another pbo, then missions.pbo? Thanks in advance.

ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Fighting_steel replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
It really pisses me of that i cant get a descent performance wit my rig! Out in the open i can get 60fps, but get in to a small town with a few AI`s and FPS drops to 20-30fps. Manhatten mission still gives low performance. Changing settings from High->Medium->low, makes no difference in performance . Specs. i7 860 HD 5870 4GB 1600Mhz ram -

Invasion 1944 - D-Day 1.1 released
Fighting_steel replied to JdB's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This was just plain AWSOME! Only problem is that i cant load savegames. Get "Arma has stopped working" each and every time. Have also crashed random during gameplay with the same message. I make me realy sad, as i so much would like to play this.:( -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
Fighting_steel replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Its really sad that the engine in Arma2 suck so much as i do. I Mean, i love the game but its filled with bugs and shooth gameplay is non existent. Even with my rig, i have to set setting to normal to make the game playable in towns (out in the open is ok with high setting). But even then, with a FPS around 40-60, i still have some stuttering. Must be the loading of environment. Indoor movment and fighting is a joke. I went up some stairs, and i couldnt turn around. Have to back up. BI made a realy good game on a really bad engine. Processor: Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-860 Memory: 4094MB RAM DDR3 Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar® GreenPower™ 1TB Video Card: ATI Radeon™ HD 5870 graphics 1GB Monitor: 24" @1920*1080 Have to mention OPF: DR here. There is a game that have done the opposite. Made a medicore game on a good engine. The movment and gameplay is smooth, but everything else is kind of boring. Armas gameplay and possibilitys combined with OFP:DR engine would make the perfect game. Well, atleast i can dream! -
Both links in the first post goes to the same url. Same file. No new weapons to choose when one gain rank.

Fix the AI. Just played a game as many times before, where the AI kills me with single AK-shots on distances around 600-700meters. I only manage to squeeze a couple of shoots at this distance before every enemy know where I am. Also with corners of houses ect. They manage to kill me, if i just have the top of my helmet visible (shoots through buildings)

Same FPS (low) at any settings.
Fighting_steel replied to Fighting_steel's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What is going on. Even on crap settings the fps wont increase! -
This is wierd. I get the same FPS (around 22-24fps) with everything on low and 1280x960, as i get with everything on high and 1680x1050. Does not matter what i turn on and off. Vertical sync is forced off, so its not that. First when i turn all on Very High, the fps is different (around 15fps). So i cant even tune down settings to get a better fps. I have to put this game on the shelf sadly if this dont improve. Arma 2 looks and run like crap compared to Armed Assault for me PS: The small island work great, with fps at around 40-50. Rig: E6600@stock 8800GTS 640MB@max clock. 2GB ram
