StryDa 0 Posted June 30, 2009 Thanks Shinobi. Note to Windows 7 users you can find the xfire_games.ini in C:/ProgramData/Xfire/ I think ProgramData is a hidden folder so may have to change folder options to see it. And just follow what Shinobi said, works well :).

Binkowski 26 Posted July 3, 2009 If you purchased the game on Steam then you get Xfire support. If you didn't purchase the game on Steam, you don't. Which sucks.

pap 0 Posted July 6, 2009 I have added it to Xfire but for some reason i have no server browser for Arma 2 and Arma. Is there some way to add server browser support for Arma's?
th3flyboy 0 Posted July 7, 2009 ArmA 2 won't be supported fully until they fix some issues. The issue I suspect which I have already reported to Xfire is that the ingame for vista uses a different D3D9 header and library. Because of this, it doesn't work right at least under vista. If it's screwy under XP, I have no clue why. I'm hoping they contact Valve and ask them about how they got the steam overlay working with A2. As for no boxed support, xfire wont support boxed until it's in their local shop, and their in the US. Until then, they won't support it.

Grunks 10 Posted July 10, 2009 I got ArmA 2 off steam and it should therefore work launching from xfire but it doesn't do anything when I try to. Anyone got any ideas? All my other games (Steam and Non-steam) work fine through xfire
MulleDK19 21 Posted July 23, 2009 ARMA 2 is still not supported on Xfire.. Well.. The steam version is, but the retail isn't -.-
wooly-back-jack 10 Posted July 23, 2009 It works, sort of. It shows you as playing in game, and the IP. But no server details and if you try to join a buddy through xfire it will just hang (waiting for host) Cant see xfire chat ingame or take screenshots/video's either. I usually turn Xfire off before playing Arma2, I shut down all I can infact.
MulleDK19 21 Posted July 24, 2009 Oh. I found the issue. They've made a mistake in the ini.. They've written InstallPath instead of Main. And they've missed the renderer. Replace 5856_2 with this [5856_2]LongName=ARMA 2 ShortName=arma2 LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Main LauncherExe=arma2.exe DetectExe=arma2.exe LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect=%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME% _GAME_HOST_PORT% Launch= _LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% _LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% _LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_WINDOWS_INPUT
BLSmith2112 0 Posted July 24, 2009 The overlay in-game doesn't work for me (Steam) :(
kremator 1065 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) Oh. I found the issue. They've made a mistake in the ini..They've written InstallPath instead of Main. And they've missed the renderer. Replace 5856_2 with this [5856_2] LongName=ARMA 2 ShortName=arma2 LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Main LauncherExe=arma2.exe DetectExe=arma2.exe LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect=%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME% %UA_GAME_HOST_PORT% Launch= %UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_WINDOWS_INPUT Should look like this. Now you have a FULLY WORKING XFIRE INGAME ! GRRRRRR this site is putting a space inbetween IN and PUT ..... should read INPUT on last line. Thanks for MulleDK19 for this ... had to reformat it because this site doesn't like certain formatting. As per MulleDK's post replace [5856_2] with this ... [5856_2] LongName=ARMA 2 ShortName=arma2 LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Main LauncherExe=arma2.exe DetectExe=arma2.exe LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect=%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME% %UA_GAME_HOST_PORT% Launch= %UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_WINDOWS_INPUT Finally remove the space from between IN and PUT to read INPUT and you have a FULLY WORKING XFIRE ! Enjoy. EDIT I have found that you have full mouse control in the A2 menu but need to use the tab key to navigate the xfire menus when playing ingame Edited July 24, 2009 by Placebo

LJF 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Mine doesn't work :( Here's what I've got: xfire_games.ini: [5856_2] LongName=ARMA 2 ShortName=arma2 LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Main LauncherExe=arma2.exe DetectExe=arma2.exe LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect=%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME% _GAME_HOST_PORT% Launch= _LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% _LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% _LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_WINDOWS_INPUT I'm in W7 so have that in the same as Vista 64 users, in ProgramData, I put that in and restarted xfire but still nothing. Anything I'm doing wrong?
kremator 1065 Posted July 24, 2009 If you copy&paste what I had directly into your xfire_games.ini over the original [5856_2] then changed the I NPUT to INPUT it should work. For info I am running XP32, so if there is something different about W7 or Vista (apart from where xfire_games.ini is kept) then I don't know.
CrazyAce 0 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) Enjoy. EDIT I have found that you have full mouse control in the A2 menu but need to use the tab key to navigate the xfire menus when playing ingame Thanx Kremator, hopefully this will allow me to take in game screen shots using XFire. :edit: Nope, still doesn't let me take screen shots in game... :( Oh well worth a try. LJF 0 Posted July 24, 2009 I've got W7 64bit so I'm assuming that's it, thing is, A2 runs in 32bit mode for me, and Xfire apparently only has trouble with 64 ... ah well, alt-tabbing for me.
