Many thanks for the information! I didnt mean to start a debate... oops Okay i found the LHD on Utes Island - I am told that this is placed as part of the island setup, which is okay. As i am a totall noob and i am english playing with the german version of this game -( of which i dont even understand a bloody word of german) but i simply couldnt resist getting stuck into this game.

As far as the Destroyer and Frigate yes you have use the setpos getpos command to get them to float! which is not a problem really i am happy to live with that at the moment. Understandlbly BIS where rushed to get the ships which i honestly see as a bonus!

However what i am also looking for is when our esteemed shipbuilder Gnat will get his hands on these two objects and work his magic. I honestly beleive that Gnat could work that magic! ( Gnat i apoligise for putting you on the spot here mate).

I think it would be awesome if Gnat could rub the magic on the LHD - To be honest i would rather have the LHD static but fully functional - i just hope that BIS will allow Gnat and Co to alter the current LHD into a full functional LHD with working defense systems and Airlifts etc

Lastly gents and slightly off topic i just hope the Gnat and Spooner can pull it so that we can have diving operations - cause man it would be really awesome.

Perhaps a map mod will sort it. It would be a great place to start in coops. And PVP.

I zoomed right in on the carrier LHD on the utes map, it looks made up of at least 6 parts/pieces.

Looking at the config, 9 to be exact.

And some have animation defined ..... which I'm hoping includes the Elevators!

Well .... maybe if its not working now, it'll work later *cross finers*.

Someone could try a createvehicle script to manually lay down a LHD on any map.

Parent class is StaticShip which is from Strategic

Unless I've received the wrong information you are now able to make MP campaigns. Then it's not really a problem if the naval vessel is only available on one Island. You can start your MP Coop on the smaller island, and then proceed to Chernarus in the next mission.

Going back and forth for support and outfitting would get messy. I sure hope it can be placed by script. Addon way is not good enough, since many try to not use addons for multiplayer public friendly games.

The whole carrier shit is really stessing me out. I got the placable carrier download and it took me almost two hours two figure out how to place units on the carrier with the setpostions code. The thing is sometimes units remain om teh deck but sometimes they still fall through the ship even with correct code !!!@#@@!@#@!!!!!. Another thing that anoys the shit out of meis that sometimes units sink throught the deck halfway with there body,s and when i mess around to place them a litte higher they suddenly die. I tried to place a platoon of marines on the cargo hold of the carrier on the correct setposition with hold and safe waypoints set and still walk around and keep turning 360 degrees for no reason.. This also happens when i place indivdual units on the flight-deck. But the most anyoing is that even with the right code all the stuff on the flight deck still fall through the ship and sometimes they dont. It doesnt seem to be because the Placable LHD is a little stretched in the editor becaus everything just goes through.

maybe your code is not the best. did you try to copy/paste code out of an official mission that has the carrier in it?

@oscar19681: Check Domination mission. Xeno had problems with it too in Domination but not his other missions. Turned out the sea floor geometry had an impact. Will work in some locations, not in others. Copy his coordinates from 1.17T (or later) and it should work out... Hopefully :)

@jeffroland: The LHD (not a carrier) is not in any official Chernarus missions, only Utes mission where it is part of the map, not placed onto the map.

to place the destroyer and "Frigata" on a map without them being underwater, put this in the init line:

this setPos [(getPos this) select 0, (getPos this) select 1, 0];

they are, of course, just props for show. No function. Although, I think you can land a helo on the frigate.

I did copy and paste all the codes and i checked them all they work sometimes and sometimes they dont.

yep I landed on the frigate at skalisky island (in my version of evolution) http://91.192.210.5/gits/Arma/

and the chopper stuck to the deck then gradually slid off the frigate, while I was stuck rooted to the spot. I guess this means you can't land on top of the international hotel in chernogorsk either? (note to self to try it later)

there is no working platform on the frigate to work as a floor. I put a ladder up the side ofthe frigate and still can't walk on it once I'm on it I'm just stuck, so I guess we need a new one...

About the destroyer/frigate, would it sink if you setheight it on the water surface?

I used a setheight of 5 which looked pretty good

You can land on top of the hotel (last time I checked).
