- New Armour hit sounds (Based sounds on light armour/metal, bullets will bounce off & bounce around within the chassis))..well thats what I intended..if you use mainly

armour and don't like these new hits then pm me, ask me nicely and I'll make up some seperate heavy armour hit sound for you.

- Added Footsteps & Equipment(equipment sounds are there but my config doesn't have the revelent info so your 'roll' noises to go with the rolling animation don't work. (reworked resampled down to 22khz)

- made many 'good' edits to config file, various tweaks to add with immersion & realism

V1.3.1 Fix/Update (New)

Howdy, just a little note before we get to the good stuff..As I said on the forums, post suggestions and I shall do my best..well..thankyou all for posting, your input on 1.3 so far has been great, so much so that I thought it would be good to release another update before 1.4. Hope you like it...

-Optimised afew more files

-Reworked A10/AV8/KA50/AH1Z/UH60/AH6 Engine sounds again (sorry about 1.3, guess I was rushing)

-Remade A10/AV8 Burst Fire sounds, sounds now match amount off ammo used if burst fire is used..ie; A10=40 round half second burst, Av8=5 round burst.

-Remade All high ROF samples and minugun samples (I'm now alot happier with them myself, check em out)

-Reworked humvee, vulcan, m113, stryker and shilka engine sounds ( upped the pitch and the rpm's alittle hopefully better for you guys this time!wink_o.gif

-Made volume adjustments to all smallarms reload sounds (bout 3db!wink_o.gif

Theres bound to be afew things I've put in and missed out, just tried to follow what people had said so far across the forums....

V1.3 Fix/Update

-Optimised 95% of the sounds for better performance (Numerous sounds left alone for immersion, ie; sniper rifles, reloads etc)

-Reworked M240, Per forum request (More bass more chainlink action..)

-Reworked M249, per Pm request (Treble boost and sound modified)

-New M4sd, personal choice (I hated 1.2's version, so try this, and let me know!wink_o.gif

-New M2, personal choice (same as above, not enough punch in 1.2)

-New M9sd, personal choice (thought I'd see what you thought of this...?)

-New Sounds for Helicopter engines (all of em I think!wink_o.gif

-New Sounds for Aircraft (same as above! added more rumble..I live next to an airport!wink_o.gif

-New Gau 8 Avenger sound, forum/pm request (this is abit experimental, I'll explain later on the forums if people are interested.?)

-Reworked Cobra 20mm cannon, per forum/pm request (more realistic? tell me what you guys think?)

-Hand grenade throw sound reworked. should work better with the animation.

-m4 volume notched up alittle

-Hand grenade Explosions reworked (added some bass frequencies to the boom sound and falling debris to the trailoff sound)

-M203 & GP 25 explosion sounds reworked (added more variation in sounds, watched some footage on Youtube, noticed variation in the sound over range was quite different so tried to copy it. the problem I beleive is that the 8 samples designated for this fire off randomly, so you could be firing at close range and here an explosion sound that would be virtually 200-300 metres away...Guess we'll have to see, please comment on this as I'm also considering building 1 base sound and then modeling the other 7 sounds around that, just for consistancy.

-MP5 volume notched up alittle

-Javelin sorted ! (nasty phasing sound busted)

-Bikey thingy fixed this shall be fixed by jman2704 soon

Thats pretty much it, please checkout the full readme for additional info in the meantime please give it a try, I'd love to hear what you guys think?

This mod is fantastic, the sounds are really well done, playing around with infantry at the moment, it's really really good, armour and air is next!

You might also want to try http://mihd.net/ , heard it's pretty good too.

Aye I know, the cats ..

This addon is great, I can't stop listening to those sounds, going to head into MP and play some coops, don't think it works with ECS though.

And I haven't checked for performance hits yet, haven't found any at the moment so that's good.

Just tested and they sound really good!! only thing I dislike is the rocket flying sound, if you fix that this is one excellent sound mod!

bad news is, I have apparently not put all the bikey files in this release.. I will try to sort it out, but it will not be done till tomorrow night at least..

Two little things I noticed: Grenade explosion sounds aren't carried too far (they stop being distinguishable over ~50m) and the overall sound intensity of small arms (m4 in particular) could be increased by well over ~50% - that's just my two cents though.

This is an amazing piece of work, mate, keep it up and cheers!

Would like to add it to the list as a recommendation, if you don't mind.

FritzDaKat. - Suggestions for music are welcome, although I don't have access to vocals or a full live band, I'd love to do something hardedged. Maybe NIN mixed with meatbeatmanifesto?

ahh before i forget, I will go though the nade sounds before the next release, was thinking of adding some dust and dirt falling a short time after the initial BOOM sound. If you listen, the nade sounds have quite a long trailoff, its just been toned down...nearly blew my Sub making them sounds.. whistle.gif

Ok people, I've sorted out the Bikey issue I had (I'm such a plum crazy_o.gif ), now I'm gonna go to goodnight.gif gotta be up for 04:30 an I bet its freezing again....brrrr. When I get home from work tomorrow afternoon I'll upload a new version with updated bikey. If I get home early enough & without hassle I shall attempt to look at some of the smaller changes you guys have suggested an implement them. At least then I'll have a better reason for updating than forgetting to sort the keys out....

Just had a test run on a large-scale coop mission with a friend.

This mod adds a lot to the game! Kudos to you, Mark XIII, you somehow managed to make these weapons sounds very realistic without losing some of their "shooter vigour", especially while in first person.

Is there any way one can edit the sound range/distance and strength (db) on their own? The config confuses me, at best - I'm not into this stuff at all but would love to try to increase the sound carriage to about ~1km for assault rifles etc.

Whilst you have provided the server public key 'HiFi_sounds.bikey' in your release archive, you have not provided the respective bisigns for 'HiFi_config.pbo' and 'HiFi_sounds.pbo'.

Please provide these bisigns and repack your release so we server admins can allow this mod client side.

It's not too tricky for changing basic paramaters, just make a backup of the original somwhere and,,,

Ack, no wonder so many ppl complain of MP cheaters (Now that I think of it. lol)

FINALLY a bright side to having a 2.6 kbps dialup line, I sure dont worry bout' cheaters in online servers rofl.gif ,,, confused_o.gif ,,, sad_o.gif

Good Evening all

I'd just like to let you all know that with the help of Polo (Creator of the Awesome FROMZ mod) I've finally finished my sound addon. sorta kept things quiet until now because I didn't know if my personal life would allow me to finish it, let alone release it. I would have loved to release this with a video but my machine couldn't even manage running Arma + Fraps so unless someone would like to help me out I guess you'll just have to download it wink_o.gif.

hey i just want to throw my 2 cents in. But I have a pet peeve about explosion sounds... Chammy's Grenade explosion is the best and most accurate sound i have ever heard as far as a sound mod for this game goes... I haven't gotten to hear this yet. But usually, people get their sound clips from youtube or wherever else and the sound is usually distorted due to microphones and just that its a second-hand sound... Chammy's sounds like your actually there... a grenade blast is very distinctive...
