    Railroad

Railroads would certainly open up a whole new gaming mode, for both modern and old mods. Just imagine a western mod, cowboys robbing trains, or trying to defend trains. That'd be wicked. Yours,

Handi Hop! : helping disabled people

Have to admit they're doing some daring things, things I never attempted either, hats off to those men and women. *Smiles* Hope to see more of these things! Yours,

    Realistic water

I thought Armed Assault didn't look very bad, at least it's a huge improvement over OFP. Even better water would be nice but if it'd cause performance hits then I'd rather have the current water. Anyone remember DXDLL for OFP? That was pretty awesome, and if you didn't tweak it well the water could be a mirror almost, was pretty cool. Yours,

    SLX MOD public release

Kremator, you mean the crosshairs? That should be in your options menu, at difficulty. Make sure crosshairs are enabled for both regular and veteran mode. As far as I'm aware SLX doesn't force them off, does it? Yours,

    Hifi Sound FX V1.00 Released

I can't wait for the new (or improved/added?) sonic cracks. They sound good now, hope they'll sound even better, or a wider range of sounds, that'd be brilliant. Yours,

    JPEG XR format...

Sounds pretty interesting. Hope it works out. Yours,

    Advanced Combat Environment

People who want to play ACE properly and experience the mod in all it's realism and atmosphere are probably the players who have crosshairs and/or 3rd person view disabled by default anyway. If you want to play Evolution with crosshairs and 3rd person on ACE mod, nobody's stopping you, but for those that truly wish to experience the mod will probably have it turned off as it's a much more realistic feel and atmosphere. Also prevents 'corner peeking' so you'll actually have to properly take each corner, for one example. Yours,

What military equipment and vehicles do you want?

Proper textures, not that rubbish BLUFOR's got standard, stands out like a bloody light in the grass, DPM please. Yours,

Sir, I think we took a wrong turn. Don't worry Corporal. Ah, hello there chaps, would you happen to know the shortest route to the NATO base? A: WP Insurgents, Barracuda 440, Queen's Gambit on Porto Island.

    Hifi Sound FX V1.00 Released

Ah brilliant! Can't wait for the next version, and also for the footsteps and movement of equipment. Keep in mind it should be hearable but not too loud or it'll get annoying/distracting. Yours,

How many use the Postprocessing effects?

I try to keep my Armed Assault running smoothly in all acceptable scenes, as well as my other games, and PP often makes it go below 'acceptable', which for me ruins the gaming experience. Besides, I have textures set to sharp and in high detail (video card settings as well) as I prefer nice crispy textures over blurriness anyway. On the point of blurriness, someone mentioned it earlier, the eye automatically "blurs" things that you aren't focusing on, so to blur objects and/or areas doesn't feel natural and can even disturbing if overdone. Luckily the blurring in ArmA just doesn't cross the line of 'too much'. A game which does have great blurring, in my opinion, is Call of Duty 4. Admittedly, it doesn't look right sometimes, especially when you're looking at something and it's blurry while the grass in front of you isn't, or other objects that shouldn't be blurred but are. Good thing it only happens very often and I think it looks fine. Of course, Call of Duty 4 and Armed Assault are two different games, the blur probably suits CoD4 better, due to the fast action and fast zooming and focusing on targets, rather than Armed Assault which is generally played less fast paced, with more patience. Armed Assault isn't about eye candy anyway, it's about the experience of combat, not about showing the prettiest grass or flowers available for the customer gaming market. BIS did excellent by making post processing optional in Armed Assault. There would be too much performance hits complaints anyway, I guess. Yours truly,
