Von Rundstedt 0 Posted February 16, 2008 While you all wait for the high quality stuff from FDF Mod here's something you can play around with in the mean time. This addon is made by request of certain community members. However since its not directly releated to our mod, it might not be completely accurate. Even if its a dawn of m/05 combat equipment and uniform, most of finnish conscripts still uses mixture of m/62 uniform, m/85 combat belt, m/95 helmet and m/91 frag vest during combat training. This addon attempts to simulate it on best it can and still keep performance on slower computers, so don't expect all too high quality work. Download file contains finnish soldiers (fww2_fireserve.pbo) and RK-95 (RH_RK95). Last meantioned has been acquired from RH_AKS pack with permission of Robert Hammer, because of this addon does not require Queens Gambit. Units are listed following: Company Commander Platoon Commander Squad Leader Rifleman Machinegunner AT-Soldier Also you will find ready squad under Independant->FWW2 Infantry->Infantry Squad There is few major flaws; such as AT-soldier using LAW instead of 66 KES 88 and officer being equiped with M9 pistol. If you want these fixed you have to wait FDF mod to do it or do it yourself. For seeking permission to modify this pack contact information can be found in the readme.txt. Requirements: ArmA: Armed Assault/Combat Operations 1.08 or higher RH_RK95, which is included as seperate addon in pack. Credits and additional info can be found from readme.txt EDIT: Following quote is credits Quote[/b] ]RK-95 Sako:Sako body model: Darkstorn Magazine model: Twinke Masta Skin: Twinke Masta Soldier model+UV map (except helmet): BIS Combat belt, textures and rest small modifications: FWW2 Click for bigger picture: And finally the most important thing: Download Finnish Conscript/Reservist Pack & RH_RK95 Hope you all enjoy

the_shadow 0 Posted February 16, 2008 FWW2 = Finland World War 2 thats the name of the mod so i suppose thats what they plan to make
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted February 16, 2008 Exactly as the_shadow said. We're World War 2 mod, this project was done only because it was requested. Hope that people will like them still
Inkompetent 0 Posted February 16, 2008 Sweetness! Nice to see some real custom content, and it's really nice to see something that's not hyper-modern super-duper troops of X nation, but something more held back, undergeared and down to earth. Thumbs up for nice project!
SniperRedHawk 0 Posted February 16, 2008 Quote[/b] ] RH_AKS pack with permission of Robert Hammer Except that isn't Robert Hammer's model or skin. You need to get permission from the original authors.
manzilla 1 Posted February 16, 2008 I meant to point out the same thing, SniperRedHawk thanks. Obviously I'm only assuming, and hoping, Von Rundstedt possibly didn't realize that RH is the original creator(s). SniperRedHawk it might help to inform Von Rundstedt if you PM him about the original modellers/textures.( You know the info regarding whom to seek, is hat correct? Or maybe I'm mistaken about that, my apologies if so.) Either way, just in case this is a miscommunication between RH and Von Rundstedt, I'm hoping to get this cleared up civilly. Although it ain't my job to get it done. The original artists definitely deserve credit and must be mentioned in the first post, readmes, etc. My hope is only to keep the insults down to a minimum. Unless of course there is trouble getting the original artists they're due credit, at that point I exit the discussion.
roberthammer 582 Posted February 17, 2008 Quote[/b] ]Except that isn't Robert Hammer's model or skin. That's right . I only reworked , RK95 is with permission and Von Rundstedt forgot write those credits  RK-95 Sako: Sako body model: Darkstorn Magazine model: Twinke Masta Skin: Twinke Masta Edit: Von Rundstedt, adde these credits in the first Post, thanks!
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Yes sorry about that. I wrote credits only in readme.txt, my bad. Anyway RH_RK95 was never intented to be our release, more of Roberts release that we release for him Oh and thank Robert for clearing this thing for me
Inkompetent 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Glad that stuff is sorted! Would have been sad to see the addon withdrawn because of lacking rights.
Juan 0 Posted February 17, 2008 This looks great. So, I take it that this can be used like some sort of generic army units, nice.
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted February 17, 2008 This looks great. So, I take it that this can be used like some sort of generic army units, nice. Pretty much yes. Don't really know any unit that would use any other uniform in their own brigades training. Of course its different with any trip to other brigade trainings Besides it was actually quite nice to make something not completely state-of-art stuff for ArmA. Quote[/b] ]Glad that stuff is sorted! Would have been sad to see the addon withdrawn because of lacking rights. I don't think there was really need to worry about that, especially since we all have seen quite a few such problems. I did contact Robert Hammer about this quite a while before even getting to release stage to be sure to get permissions before release date. Just managed to make few mistakes then in end when posting this stuff
manzilla 1 Posted February 17, 2008 I'm glad you guys got the credits up there. No big deal. Well handled by all involved. Now on to my initial point... VR and Co., thanks for the units. I've been using them as RACs in my editted DAC mission. They are definitely a nice change for my game play from day to day. Excellent, unique units. Thanks again and I look forward to upcoming projects.
