max power 21 Posted August 27, 2007 Quote[/b] ]At any rate, you can make it so the missiles don't spiral if you launch them with your reticle 5 or 10 degrees higher than the target. There is some angle around there where they just fly straight, no spiralling. If you have to aim them like that, it kinda defeats the point in them being guided missiles And even when you do that, they still often miss. Compare them with the Hellfires, which hardly ever miss. No it doesn't. They are still guided when you launch with your nose pointed 5 or 10 degrees above the target, they just don't spiral. They fly straight to the target, guided all the way. As if having a 'guided missile' implies being able to launch in any situation in any flight envelope. In fact, with that method, I can get first shot hits at 2500 meters consistently. There's no robotech-like missile system where you get to launch when the target is behind you or something. Having to take care of when and how you fire is actually *more* realistic. I'm not saying that the current way things work isn't flawed. Clearly, it is. But having actually point somewhere in the neighbourhood of where you want the missile to go does not defeat the purpose of guided missiles. You're way overstepping your point. Excellent reasoning. Flawless victory! It's been proven before that removing the flaws in the guided missiles requires nothing more than a config tweak. Shouldn't be too much to ask for 1.09. baddo 0 Posted August 27, 2007 Hehe well I think the next patch for ArmA should really be only fixing bugs and not adding new content or features. It doesn't help if one bug gets fixed but ten gets added. Edit: oh well, if something gets added then that would be anti-cheat, -hack and -piracy features. -ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted August 27, 2007 I hope it comes out with QG, and I don't care who makes the thick manual, as long as it's good to serve it's purpouse (the OFP's Game Guide booklet which came with it's Gold Edition wasn't made by BIS either, it was made by Prima, which specializes in making game guides. ) In this case though, it would have to be someone extremely well versed in ArmA game mechanics etc that should make "the bible", IMHO... Commando84 0 Posted August 27, 2007 sweet i can't belive it almost well more civilian vehicles and a proper ship for Opfor and RACS with MG on it, for coast patrols. Also some anim fixes and also that after many hours of playing arma my monitor turns black and refuses to display any graphics and i have to reboot comp. happend with 2 different old school style monitors. had a 10 hour arma lan session with a friend once and then it happen last time also antihack for servers in multiplayer, i really hate those Tck guys or whatever who make cheats and ruin my experience online bigtime. twisted 128 Posted August 28, 2007 I look forward to the patch and the gold version. i will buy the gold version (i have online version now and want a DVD now) and enjoy the 300 page manual. important things i think for the patch - bug fixes (which has been mentioned) realism enhancements - especially things like tanks should be invulnerable to bullets no mattter how many are fired. AI improvements (lots of discussion already about suppression, using cover better, tactical movements) if not this then a BIS FSM editor to do this would be great. 'freeing' the AI FSM to be fully editable. working bipods (a small thing but would add a lot) edit - added an importnat one - AI to be a little less precise in how accurate they can 'know' enemy location based on sound alone. sound may give a 70% general knowledge but sight is needed for any greater accuracy. not much to ask now is it?
