Well, my first guess would have to be Cyprus.

Look at the similarities.

Just in size and shape, sahrani is fairly similar, I also shares geographical similarities. And the architecture looks similar, or at least for Pariso it does.

Anyways, If you have another idea, post them here. I sure alot of us want to know what sahrani is really supposed to be like.

South Sahrani is Spanish influenced while the North looks more like Eastern Europe or the Balkans.

Hmm, i think Sahrani is based off of Korea or Vietnam. Just because its the North VS south and reminds me of both of them a little.

South Sahrani looks a lot like Gran Canaria mixed with southern Spain

Got to say it looks a pretty close match, they just move the out sticking ting and edited the coast a bit, and let me gues in reallife the out sticking ting is in a more mountain like area.

Deffinetly not based on Cyprus, the only real life refferences they would have used would be of cirtain areas not for the whole island.

If you look at Sahrani it has a strange land formation and the settlements are all small and don't contain the things you would expect from an island based from Cyprus.

I have just come back from Cyprus and can say it looks f**k all like it.

It's a fictional island with fictional geography. Why should it

be "based off of" any real place? Its Latitude and Longitude

put it right slap-bang in the middle of the N. Atlantic.

Probably a good place to go "whale watching" nowadays.

I doubt Sahrani is based on any real world location. While the coastal outline may seem similar to a few places, the actual topography is completely different.

Just the topography. The scale of the islands used in game was a lot smaller than the real islands.

Davle on Nogova* had some RL counterpart for sure, but it really just inspired the developers. Of course they were´nt able to implement the whole town back then.

Yes, as I said, outline is somewhat similar, but compare:

Not much similarity.

Of course they haven´t rebuilt the real thing accurately - for reasons of playability!

I am only suggesting that Sahrani is not based on a real world topography (unlike the OFP CWC islands). I am not guessing which real islands may or may not have simply inspired Sahrani.

You dont need to guess it was reported in an interview that they are based on real world data and modified to fit the campaign ,by placebo some time ago

Finally somebody who knows that island. There are some towns on it who have the names from operation flashpoint, like Lamentin and Le Moule. And north from that island is another called Antigua, now have a look at your map in ArmA

Too bad it isnt that island, it was there for 3 weeks last year and i must say those were the best 3 weeks of my life, especially because of the diving
