I can't find any retailer in the US with the game available.  

EB Games has a release date of May 8th listed. Amazon says "Available Soon".  Was there some kind of delay?

Can anyone in the US confirm purchasing a physical copy?

The reason is that they simply want to secure more sales for Combat Operations. Without the 1.06 patch all the new purchases will most probably be of Atari's release.

I'm glad I got the Czech version.. At least I can play multiplayer with the already established player base while everyone who bought CO is stuck with their own special, incompatable version.

I must say I'm kind of puzzled about the idea of releasing two almost identical games, that are not compatible with eachother in multiplayer.

I have the patience to wait, but I'm still confused why they would do this. I would have expected 1.6 to be available for download today, so both versions would be compatible. Oh well.

I think the release schedule is a bit of a disgrace. Loyal customers are being left in the dark about release dates when everyone should be kept at the same patch level.

These periods of 'exclusive content' make absolutely no sense to me. I mean, why give the US an exclusive period when pretty much the rest of the world already has it? Who else is going to buy it? (The pedantic among you will no doubt tell me, but you know what I mean)

..It does little more than alienate the people that have already bought, beta tested and helped out the community where we could - not to mention the hard working mod makers who have enhanced this game so much.

If the reason for the delayed patch is to milk "loyal fans" (those that would buy another copy to get the content) then it is beneath contempt.

Sigh.. That said, we have little choice but to wait.... again.

Why do you guys do this.. Completly Retarted or something.. Its been said why many many times over.. Its what happend to the German and Czech Versions.. they had to wait for 2 weeks also.. Why becuase its to allow the publisher to secure there sales for there version without poeople downloading say the 505 version then just patching it.

EDIT: THE 505 PEOPLE ALSO GOT 2 WEEKS SPECIAL CONTENT AND UPDATED VERSION. SO DO NOT COMPLAIN AND THE GERMAN AND CZECH PEOPLE GOT THE GAME EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS SO DONT COMPLAIN EITHER!!!

This is why these threads are usually locked, they turn stupid..

Arma was released in diferent times, in diferent versions and formats (DVD, download) with diferent CP software.

Started with czech/slovak version 1.0, followed by german version wich i believe was 1.2, then 505 wich was 1.4, then they patched all diferent versions to 1.5 and 1.5beta.

Now comes the US release wich is 1.6, again available as download or hard copy (DVD).

If all copies prior to the us one were the same it would be far easier to patch... have a little patience?

I am posting (like lots of other people here) to express my disbelief at yet more exclusive content. Obviously, we all have to wait, obviously BIS are working hard and are doing a good job (except with the release dates) - it doesnt mean we cant discuss it? I was only going to post once (hardly arguing) until I saw the comment from Matt.

'finishing up' does not mean that it will be released within 2 weeks, we dont have a releasedate, go back to sleep

So far i know, 1.07 will be a hotfix for the US version,

and all other version will have to wait till 1.08,

which will be released in june.
