Falklands Mod 1.0 Released

Recommended Posts

C130 issues mostly my fault as I modfied the Argentine Herc that Afro had made for us, but was incomplete in that etsting was not satisfied.

Another 'minor' fix to carry out.

The VTOL options got removed because we had complaints about these being inthe menu etc.. and the semi-automation was thought by some to be a better solution.

Alsothe height setting was onpurpose as the newer system caused issues with our carriers (in fact its why only Harrier missions 1 and 3 are present as Mission 2 is now problematic due to changes to the current harrier version).

Quote[/b] ]Concerning VTOL...

Only tried with Sea Harrier but landing it kicks in automatically when you get to a certain speed (approx. 150 it seems), however I too cannot get it to work from the ground. It has STOL though when taking off. In the seperate release the Harrier had actions to control VTOL, but they do not appear.

Yeah, under 150 kmh the nozzles kick in, under 50 kmh the aircraft is capable of hoverng at low speeds.

I think thats why they took the trouble to drag Aircaft Carriers to the location? This isn't an airshow.

any jeeps whit MG for british forces? huh.gif

Not very handy in the Falklands IMHO. It would soon become static.

Besides, you have Royal Marines, Para's and Guards to "bring the tools".

Congratulations lads.

On so many things. The motivation, after so long and so much work. The dedication. The skill involved.

Can't wait to try it thumbs-up.gif

I could mirror it on rapidshare, but it'd have to be split because of the size, and I think you'd need a premium account to be able to download more than one part at a time. Let me know if you'd like me to anyway

Its OK, having looked at the load on my server the last 24hrs hasnt even taxed the hardware.

A big Thanks to Cervo @OFP.info for the mirror though!

Quick bug report after giving it a quick test (bed and gf await);

I get a cwkchair.p3d-related error message when starting the Harrier mission and one regarding ar_5t (Argentinian 5t truck I presume).

No instructions were given on how to take off using VTOL in the Atlantic Conveyor mission, but the instructions to land were clear and well timed. What's funny though is that I managed to take off conventionally, well, conventionally so-to-speak. As soon as I went through the large structure on the bow of the AC, I dipped down and sped up while underwater for about 5 seconds, finally pulling my Harrier out of the water. Managed to land using VTOL on my first attempt though. Quite simple, and congrats on the implementation.

I had one CTD, when launching the NDS mission, but it was an out of reserved memory one

Edit: Those 2 posts appeared fast lol. Guess my VTOL issue can be disregarded. You might wanna remove the mission then if VTOL isn't to be implemented

Isn't the faces thing included in the FLK download?

/Edit, the mission worked for me after I copied both editor-thingies into the addon folder and deleted them from the dta folder.

Would it be possible to add HD weapons for Argentine Conscripts in v1.1?

I get these two bugs too. The only addons I am using are the ones provided in the Falklands downloads.

Back to the first mission (atlantic conveyer) I also recieved a missing music "carrier ambience" error. But managed to do the "belly flop into the ocean take off maneuver" and finished the mission. VTOL landing was neat smile_o.gif

Yeah I've got two so far. I'm launching OFP with just the Falklands mod addons too. Takes me back to the early days of Tonal when that used to happen 1/2 times. I guess there's just so much in the way of addons, terrain, scripting etc being loaded...

Actually i experience FLK Mod as being rather performance friendly. Only CTDs so far were the result of config-bugs.

I get an error. I reainstalled GOTY in an attempt to make it work, i got plain OFP now.. only ive got with addons and modfolders now are "@Coc & Falklands" + Falklands Recommended (in ofp\Addons).

But when i run it, I get this error

I also downloaded thoose fixes.. but still it wont work.. it works without the addons, but not with falklands.

Try:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nomap -mod=@COC;Falklands

That should work.

Isn't that parameter to counter the Out of Reserved Memory error? Which I get while using it anyway confused_o.gif

oh this is amazing. i'm addicted to ofp again.

i don't have time to read the thread to see if this has been posted because i'm in a hurry, so i'll just throw this out here. you can completely walk right through the field hospital/whaling station at ajax bay.

i'm finishing off a pebble island mission i put together yesterday, the action is really short, but exciting. pretty good stuff. made me realise how long i've been away from ofp with me forgetting the simple mission making things.

and i love the resistance gazelle.

Yes and it fixes issues with graphics memory.
