KeyCat 131 Posted March 15, 2007 A guy named LowFly has been hard at work for quite some time. Just got "clearance" to share the news and a link! I've been testing a beta version for a couple of weeks and all I can say is that it's great! Kudos to LowFly for making this and sharing with the rest of the ArmA community! EditorUpdate v 102 made by LowFly Note: Currently the info is only in German but he will upload a English readme.txt within a couple of days. /KC

Guest Posted March 15, 2007 I have one question. On the page where you can download it from is also a link to "3-D Editor". Is that addon required for the editorupdate to work? If I did read (and translated) the german text correctly that addon was removed out of the editorupdate and has to be downloaded as an additional addon. However is that file required for it to work? Hope I am not asking something stupid since the other posters seems to have no probs.

mattxr 9 Posted March 15, 2007 Wow this is awesome but im more interested in the 3D - Editor!! Says i cant run it in MP, although im not in MP so that was a shame but good stuff. Nervermind i figured it out.. very clever.
beta 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Very nice, love all the new placeables! I'm having trouble however, certain objects (from the 'House' directory to be specific), when placed, can't be 'operated'. What I mean is that, say you place a Radio Tower from the 'House' directory, then you won't be able to climb the ladder. Stuff from 'Objects' works fine, but stuff from 'House' seems to be completely static, house doors don't work, ladders can't be climbed. Not a big deal, just reporting in case LowFly is a perfectionist

Probably the 3d Editor only works when you start the editor from the Play --> Editor menu instead of the MP Editor which is available through Play --> Multiplayer --> Host Game --> Edit
ericfr 0 Posted March 16, 2007 I will never understand Bis. Why they continue the same errors since OFP. Why aren't all the objects all available quite simply? That's crazy. They are very stranges.
Jackal326 1181 Posted March 16, 2007 Its not strange at all. They didn't want the unit lists cluttered with a shed-load of objects that 99% of people wont use (not that I'm saying this addon is useless, far from it). Plus, you can still use these objects without the editor upgrade as far as I know, you just need to edit the mission.sqm and add them, rather than adding them in the editor (so basically its harder to do, but still possible). TiGGa 0 Posted March 16, 2007 In order to use the 3D Editor, you have to be a civilian in the editor preview.

kronzky 5 Posted March 17, 2007 That's some pretty impressive job you did there, LowFly! A BIG THANK YOU! There's LOTS of stuff in there I've been desperately looking for. I assume though, that the addon has to be loaded, in order for other people to use the objects you placed in your mission (since it looks like all the new objects are in custom classes you created)? terox 316 Posted March 18, 2007 My own fault for not checking but i just spent several hours creating a mission with many objects from this addon, assuming that editor_update v1.02 (like its OFP predecessor) was a true editor update, meaning it didnt create an addon dependancy So please be aware folks, this isnt what you would first assume it to be Great work by the creator, but just be aware, others and the server need this addon to run any mission that uses it and some of the objects use bis p3d's that dont have a bis classname attached too them so that you can't edit the mission.sqm eg class: AAHO224 class: AAHO398
opteryx 1562 Posted March 20, 2007 Holy crap! I just filled up the enire of Rahmadi island with buildings at 2000 meters of view distance and no lag! ...........then I copied it all and pasted it in and still no lag!! And that's on a really crappy computer
squeeze 22 Posted March 23, 2007 just like to point out that the buildings don't collapses with this addon even though it's destroyed and rumble appears. tested @6thSenseEU addon which worked...real shame i liked the extra goodies. also just did a quick test.....M1A1 V Palm tree......tree won
dob 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Realy nice ! but i dont know use some stuff like transportable static, no readme inside some one have a link for forum or readme file ? thanks edit: i v open the pbo and the readme is inside, so u just need to creat in your mission one file "init.sqs" whith "GameEnd = FALSE"
