Morticus 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Hi guys just a bit of info i found not sure if it will help but this has cured my Mem 8000 error on vista and also on my friends PC too. Put the following line in the ARMA shortcut and this seems to work. \arma.exe" -mod=beta -nosplash -maxmem=512 if you just using normal version 1.05 then just add this \arma.exe" -maxmem=512 It works for me

suma 8 Posted May 17, 2007 i have no ARMA dump or etc. files You need to check not the ArmA folder in My Documents, but the one in Local Settings. You may need to enable showing hidden system files in your Windows Explorer first.
sickboy 13 Posted May 18, 2007 Suma, maybe this experience might help you: In 1.07.5157, If I limit the memory to 512MB, either in Vista64 or in XP32, I do not get this error even when playing prolonged times on different Islands and Missions, even with a lot of different Custom Content. On Vista64: Even though I limit the memory to 512MB, it still consumes more memory (reported by windows Task Manager). 700-850mb (~double of XP32) is normal under Vista. But I see the memory being flushed a couple of times, Sudden decreases to e.g. 500-600mb and slowly adding up again. The funny thing is, even though the Memory Consumption in Task Manager is this high, I still don't get the error as opposed to when im not using the maxmem=512 parameter Btw, in extreme cases the error can cause a bluescreen (Vista64-only): Process has locked Pages I will fiddle a bit more around with the -maxmem parameter, 512 was what made it work under Vista64, but the problems seemed to be around 750mb for XP32 Update: 768mb for XP32 is still fine System Data: Core2 E6600, running 2x 3.33ghz, 2x 1GB DDR2-800 4-4-4-12-1t, Nvidia Nforce 650i+590 Hybrid Chipset (Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus) GF8800GTX 768mb XP32: Nvidia Forceware 160.03 Vista64: Nvidia Forceware 158.43 ArmA Settings: Very High, AA Normal, VD 3500m. 1600x1200@100hz Vilas, to go to your local settings folder, click Start, Run, and enter this: %USERPROFILE%\local settings\application data\arma
JimLad 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Sickboy, is Arma playable under Vista now? I had to go back to XP32 before because of LOD issues etc. However I now have 4GB of pc6400, but XP32 only sees 3 gig. I want to go back to Vista 64 to see all of the memory, but will only do so if Arma runs ok

sickboy 13 Posted May 25, 2007 So Vilas did you check my post that tells you that those crashes can be resolved by adding -maxmem=512 or 768 to ur shortcut? JimLad 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Well I tried Vista and found I got a lot of LOD issues So I'm trying XP x64 now ( so as to address my 4GB ram) and its ok so far. Only thing was I got 8007000e error last night. I am testing running maxmem=1024 and 2048 now to see if that helps.
