bionic 10 Posted February 23, 2007 I started a Thread in the Troubleshooting Forum. Don´t know who of the moderators edited my Threadtitel but i don´t find it very funny. Link I understand that it is pointless to make for every small Question a direct call for Maruk or Suma because most can be answered by the Com. But i think my question is important for every Vista user and can´t be answered by anyone out of the Com since it is a major problem with the software itself. Don´t get me wrong i don´t want to stay over all other asked questions with mine but it was meant to be directly adressed to someone of the BIS team because only they can answer this question. Don´t know how i should get the attention by somone out of the BIS team if it can´t be directly adressed to them. When i start to keep my thread on top i will get a WL for pushing or spaming. So plz tell me why i can´t adress my Thread directly to BIS never read any rule which said i am not allowed to do. greets
shadow 6 Posted February 23, 2007 If you want to adress someone at BIS I suggest you email support@bistudio.com. This is a community-forum where the people of the community help eachother. When a BI-employee have the time they chime in.

When a BI-employee have the time they chime in. Okay 1:O for you I will try it this way never thought about this option because i never needed it before. Maybe i will get an answer when i mail them but all in all i think it still is interesting for most people here so an official statement about this problem would be nice. Lets see what will happen when i mail BIS hope i get an answer. Oh and i don´t wanted to to offend somebody but i was a little bit disappointed when i saw my thread got edited for no reason. greets

Sophion-Black 0 Posted February 23, 2007 huh, never noticed this topic... oh well i guess this would be the best place to ask a quick question. Since i never knew you can have some WB taken away I'll ask this: Back in Aug. of '05 i got PRed for flaming, but i got two WBs. is there anything wrong with that or is it within the regs? would i be eligible for having my WB removed... at least two. the third one still seems kinda unfair, but that's another story that never has ended. blackdog~ 0 Posted February 24, 2007 So now that there's a new "blackdog" having just registered on the forums I suppose it's safe to say that there is absolutely no chance of the ~ ever being removed from my name now?
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted February 24, 2007 So now that there's a new "blackdog" having just registered on the forums I suppose it's safe to say that there is absolutely no chance of the ~ ever being removed from my name now? Changing anyones name is not possible with current version of the board. Name/account changing is only possible if you create a new account and notify a moderator about it so he can close the old account and transfer most of the details about the account to the new one, otherwise the new account will be threated as a second account and will be breaking "No multiple accounts" rule. As far as I'm aware, only the date joined cannot be modified.
Messiah 2 Posted February 27, 2007 could these two topics not be merged given they're essentially discussing the same thing? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=58642 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=58647 I know one is about 1.05 changelog and the other is the 1.05 delay, but at the end of the day its all about 1.05. mr burns 132 Posted February 28, 2007 Where would be the most appropriate place to create a "Do you want a new community manager" poll ?
shadow 6 Posted February 28, 2007 Where would be the most appropriate place to create a "Do you want a new community manager" poll ? In Offtopic. Just to clearify, if anyone thinks I am the community manager they are wrong. So please dont try to fire me from a position I do not possess

wex-q 0 Posted March 2, 2007 At the bottom it says "Design by JENNIK", but it isn't linked. I'm guessing he is sort of handeling the site. Didn't find him over at bistudio.com, but I guess you can just generally contact BI and they'll probably put you in the right direction.
Infidel 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Hello Shadow, how is this http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=59263 "too OT for OT" and this http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=59067 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=57526 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=59247 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=57774 is not? The forum guideline reads "For discussions not strictly related to Operation Flashpoint. Topics should still be related in some way, for example: military, politics, science and other military games." A satire about Wikipedia is more related, or at least as related, to science than the other topics to military and politics, not to mention military games. You are not a Wikipedian, are you? wex-q 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Well, 3 of the topics you linked has turned into intelligent and calm discussions about the subject, wich is also interesting subjects. The one about trance, I don't really care, since I don't listen to trance, but it's fair to the guy to show what he's done, ey? But, some random joke about surgeons having their own wiki or whatever the topic was about, that's just laid out to be a non-discussable thread, doomed to get the replies like "wtf is this?" or "lol"... So, to OT for OT is pretty right on that thread. Atleast IMO
Ironsight 1 Posted March 7, 2007 Instead of all the splintered "Too OT for OT" topics, why not create a big one. Just one pinned "Too OT for OT Topic" where you are basically allowed to discuss everything as long as it's within the forum rules. I reckon this would save a lot of splintered OT topics... W0lle 1050 Posted March 7, 2007 Who´s in charge of http://www.armedassault.com/ ? Need a contact badly! No idea if you still need it, just stumbled over this. The site is registered to BI, so I guess you need some official from BI. PM to Maruk I'd say.
Ironsight 1 Posted March 7, 2007 Who´s in charge of http://www.armedassault.com/ ? Need a contact badly! This is a case which illustrates the need for a "Community Manager". I remember I had some issues regarding the site as well, contacted Placebo and he passed it on, which is not possible anymore unfortunately...
JdB 151 Posted March 7, 2007 Just one pinned "Too OT for OT Topic" where you are basically allowed to discuss everything as long as it's within the forum rules. I reckon this would save a lot of splintered OT topics... People that actually spend time looking for pinned topics instead of creating 5 new topics in as many minutes screaming for attention. Surely you must be joking No one ever seems to notice/bother to use pinned threads until they are pointed towards them by a moderator (or scream abusive behaviour about the forum rules/moderators and are banned).
