blackdog~ 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I will simultaneously upload the game to my brand new server and install the game onto my own computer. I will fiddle around in the mission editor and put every single vehicle on the Sahrani airport. I will choose which one I like best and explore the island. Once the upload to my dedicated server is complete I will then make a post on the forum and wait for my [3] OFP friends to come and join me. The preceeding statement, of course, is barring the possibility of me needing to post something on the tech support/mutilplayer board because I didn't read the dedicated server readme thoroughly enough. I will then play multiplayer until I am interrupted by a spontaneous and uncontrollable urge to sleep, at which point I will fall out of my chair and onto the floor where I will lie unconcious for days. Timblesink 0 Posted August 27, 2006 First, I'm going to play the campaign and relish in its goodentosity - then blow shit up.
chipper 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I'll go straight to the campaign instead of exploring in the editor. I want that feeling I had when I got OFP where I feel like I'm in foriegn country that I don't know anything about.
Potatomasher 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I'll play campaign through first before i do anything else.

alx 20 Posted August 27, 2006 I'm going to start the campaign and get through the initial cut-scenes, etc. When I find out where my character has been based, I'll jump into the editor and then just walk and drive around the general area for a few hours. That should familairise me with what my character should know of the geography and place names after being based there for some time. Hopefully, that may give me some tactical advantage once the bullets start flying, and be realistic prior knowledge.
seminara 4 Posted August 27, 2006 1. Play the campaign first - following orders like a good grunt should. 2. Replay the campaign - but this time, Rambo style: Â - going left when the team goes right, - flanking the town when the team goes for a frontal, - jumping into a BRDM who's crew I've just wasted while my squad trudges ahead on foot - taking in a quiet moment to view the landscape before moving on with my mission (shades of Seven Samurai) That is - hopefully - exploring all the wonderful freedom of choice and movement the original OFP offered us all. Love it!
Daniel 0 Posted August 28, 2006 1) go on multiplayer server2) call sikky at work. I think that beats my suggestion.
mr reality 0 Posted August 28, 2006 I remember when i completed CWC campaign and there was that mission where you had to get to the south of the island by any means possible and you came across other characters from the campaign, i remember thinking it would be cool to just roam on the islands without having to do the mission. I then completed the other two campaigns (red hammer + resistance) only then did i find out there was an editor . Unfortunalty i now know this game pretty much inside out so it'll be hard not to have a go in the editor first. So i guess i'll start the SP campaign so i get used to all the new features. Plus i don't want to know what the NS soldiers look like untill i see them from afar and have to shoot them
Lou Montana 101 Posted August 28, 2006 After completing the campaign, I'll transfer my save to my brother'PC, to make the campaign in coop Hurry Hurry Hurry !

madrussian 347 Posted August 29, 2006 First off, order parts/build new mega-system once we know the release date. Â Then, the day that shiny new ArmA box arrives, I'm gonna: 1. Call in sick, install that puppy, and bade farewell to the outside world for the foreseeable future! 2. Go straight to the editor with an AT unit (or M1A1 if necessary), find the closest destructible building (now that they've confirmed), and blast it to smithereens! Â 3. Check out the new selectPlayer command to see if (as I'm hoping), with that single line, you really can switch player control from one unit to any other seamlessly. Â Used selectively, that little command will open up a world of mission-making possibilities! 4. Fire up OFP on one of my other PCs and run an ArmA/OFP side by side AI foot unit and AI vehicle unit speed comparison. Â I sure hope that haven't sped things up, even a bit... but after seeing some of ArmA gameplay movies, I have my doubts. Â (In terms of realistic real-world-like movement and speed for all units, OFP nailed it.) 5. Confirm coop campaign mode. Â (Last I checked it sorta dropped off the features list... hope I'm wrong.) Â 6. If all goes well, hail the triumph that is ArmA! 7. Launch Single Player Campaign and lose myself for days. Â 8. Once bodily function signals return and scream loudly enough (like bathroom, food, h2o, etc), pry my poor carpel-tunneled hands away and drag my emaciated body from computer. Â Oh, the humanity!
