edit: to add that picture i have a question: do we still have to go to that window option (like OFP) to drop mags/weapons etc? do we have to exit game and enter briefing/Gear to drop things?

Can't remember original OFP right now (don't think you could drop items at all) but I am certain that in Resistance you could drop items right from the action menu. (actually I don't think you could drop items in this screen)

In OFP you can drop things without using that right menu.

You can go to the Gear/briefing (while walking/runing) and press the arrow to drop, he will drop things without stoping.

Soldier will not stop while running. Its preatty usefull and earn time with it.

The bad prespective is that you lose visual contact of the present game, once you go to the Gear/briefing.

would be nice to drop things without going to the gear/briefing and without using the knee animation to drop things.

Looks like depth of field has been added to conventional sighting systems. Excellent.

Ok, nice, but if you are aiming through the scope, wouldn't your eye be closer, and you wouldn't see all that much around?

I have not received military training, nor am I American, so perhaps this is the correct way of aiming, so you don't get hit in the eye by recoil?

Just wundering.. huh.gif

Aimpoints are not conventional scopes, they just project a dot inside them to allow the shooter to quickly acquire targets. In layman terms, consider them an enhanced ironsights. wink_o.gif

This is a CBQ aiming technique using the reflex sight.

In CBQ you need to see whats going on in the areas around you.

Usually it is used clearing rooms and houses.

You can get closer to the sight, I have seen it in some videos.

Improves capabilities and realism.

In this case it's an aimpoint sight, it doesn't have any magnification, and you're not supposed to put it up to your eye. It's not meant for long range, and the whole point of it is to make it easier to aim without using ironsights, which the disadvantage of using is that you lose peripheral vision. So the whole point of such a sight is to be able to have a good idea of where you're aiming (not necessarily exact) while still being able to see and be aware of what's going on around you.

Edit: And 2 other people posted with the same answer before I finished posting.

Thanks for clearing that up guys, can't wait to see how that works in game.  Especially if you can use the sights like this, and then bring it completely up to the eye for that BAS M4 action.

@ everyone who's planning to put their face into the texture map that was released,  don't use a photo of yourself taken with a flash!

1. Go outside on a bright but cloudy day, (not direct sunlight! ) and have a friend take 4 pics of your head.  Front, left, back and right.

2. Stand still, facing the sun, so that you don't have uneven shadows on your face or strong shadows.

3. Have your friend walk around you and take the photos 90 degrees X and Y.  For best results, have him go as far away from you as possible and zoom in.  This gives your head a more "plan-view" without the effect of perspective that a wide angle lens gives you.

4. If possible use a manual setting on the camera, so that you can fix the exposure and white balance to stay the same.  This will ensure that the skin tone will have the same color, and the brigtness will remain the same as well.

5. Use the same settings for the hands and feet (!! ) smile_o.gif

This will make your work ALOT easier and more realistic. Consider this step 90% of getting a good texture.  Arranging these onto the template is the easy part.
