Hona 0 Posted September 27, 2006 I found this german news article when I was looking around: http://www.bis-ingame.net/news,id....pp.html They are mentioning a video and also they got scans from a gaming magazine (great forest screenshot in it). There are also a few new shots but they seem to be taken with low graphic settings.

MrZig 0 Posted September 27, 2006 Looks like Armed Assault. Besides, VBS2 is based off of Armed Assault's engine. Finally, real forests. yay.
stainer 0 Posted September 27, 2006 That forest does look superb, and I also like the look of the water in this screenie.

Balschoiw 0 Posted September 27, 2006 This is a Beta-Test report, probably from the GC version of ArAs Translation of text on right side: Pro´s and Con´s: + tense and challenging missions + intense battlefield-atmosphere - bad vehicle control - AI needs improvement blabla With every Beta Armed assault makes incredible progress. With this version I almost had as much fun as with Operation Flashpoint itself. If the developers are able to improve vehicle control, fix the AI a bit and work on the filesystem, ArAs will be one of my favourite strategy shooter for a long time. If not the true fans of OFP will praise it, while others who are new to it, will be dissapointed. Potential: Excellent
metalchris 0 Posted September 27, 2006 Its not the filesystem he is complaining about , but the savegame system.

sniper pilot 36 Posted September 28, 2006 Wow going off topic huh? Anyways nice forests, reminds me of the early Game 2 shots
meyamoti 0 Posted September 29, 2006 I'd have to say that forest image is moreso game2 or vbs2,probably game2,I doubt VBS2 would be advertised pubicly..anyway I could be wrong as well, judging by how NS area is European based with forests and SS is tropical. I'm mostly basing judgement by the wrist and is a faulty and bad area to look at,but I think it may be posible. Or it could be a later build, but the area just below the rifle the wrist is more detailed but lacks a vein, plus the scope mounted on the M4 is different than that seen in AA's images. deanosbeano 0 Posted September 29, 2006 hmm looks like arma with max grass, having seen video of game2 in forrest ,the colours and density are not of game2 quality, also the skin tone and radio chatter is also of arma . my 2c

bravo 6 0 Posted September 29, 2006 ...What the hell has this got to do with anything?! nothing. Have you guys notice that the latest pics have so bad quality.. Remember the 1st pics that were updated in the ARMA web site? These recent pics have nothing to do with those pics. information comes in small drops.. plz someone open the pipes. These recent pics have nothing to do with those pics. information comes in small drops.. plz someone open the pipes. How many times does BIS have to say that they want to keep some things secret until ArmA is released? This must be the 53453485345th time you've asked for more info, and every time BIS remains as silent as ever
Balschoiw 0 Posted September 29, 2006 Quote[/b] ]information comes in small drops.. plz someone open the pipes. Information does not come in small drops afaik. I have been away for 2 months and when I returned home there was a huge pile of new info on Arma, videos, pics, interviews, etc. I guess by now we know pretty much on how Arma will be and what it will feature or not. I guess i am not leaning myself out of the window too much if i say that we know about 90 percent of Arma´s content already. The remaining 10 percent will be answered either with a demo or the full product. So when you talk about "pipes" you are obviously referring to a demo. Something you have been doing for how long now ? 6 months ? More ? Stop it pls. I don´t think anyone at BIS will release a demo just because you keep on filling threads with your personal demand for a demo. Infact, it´s very much getting on everybody´s nerves. WhoCares 0 Posted September 29, 2006 In exactly 6 weeks ArmA is supposed to hit the shelves. Assuming it takes some time to fabric, package and deliver all the copies for Czech Rep., Slovakia and Poland, the golden version would have to be finished in approximatly two or three weeks. The same version would also go to Morphicon for customization for the german-speaking market. I'd assume that it will also be then (read: after the golden version), when BIS will start working on a Demo. And if you are lucky the Demo might be finished along with the public ArmA release (but that's just a wild guess from someone with little knowledge in software releases! ) . I can't really imagine them now spending effort and resources into the release of a Demo when the final release is already so close. They should focus on turning this statement (quoted from Balschoiws translation of a german review on pg. 236 of this thread) Quote[/b] ]With this version I almost had as much fun as with Operation Flashpoint itself into something like Quote[/b] ]With this version I had more fun as I ever had in Operation Flashpoint or any other computer game

Infact, it´s very much getting on everybody´s nerves. are you nervous because i think demo should be out by now or are you nervous because the release date is almost at your door? ps- nervous in a good way, i hope

bravo 6 0 Posted September 29, 2006 from all pics we have i think the sand (desert) is the more detailed part of the ground in ARMA, including the grass ground, asphalt ground etc.. like this one: http://www.armedassault.eu/photogallery.php?photo_id=490 hope im wrong
WhoCares 0 Posted September 29, 2006 http://www.armedassault.eu/.../arma_preview290.jpg Can someone identify the weapon the soldier on the left is carrying on his back? In the FAQ thread I have found the link with the vehicles in the GC press demo - is there also such a list for the weapons?
