D.murphy man 0 Posted April 14, 2006 Wow, at least in ArmA theyv improved the citys atmosphere and lay out, that looks like a very dense, packed, and realistic city. Hopfully more intresting to explore (and fight in) then lipany on nogova Edit: Also loving the dynamic shadowing on that helicopter! looks amazing
berghoff 11 Posted April 14, 2006 Indeed, and better AI to navigate in the city hehe

( we all should save some money and buy william a nice digi camera ) The city looks very nice.. ..well organized, and clean. Looks too nice ... hum..
GBee 0 Posted April 14, 2006 Bravo has a good point, the city is a little too clean. It's a minor but noticable 'flaw' when anything is too good to be true, the brain notices such things and it does affect immersion. A real city would have: # Areas of construction (building site w/crane etc) # carparks/parking bays # offices (don't need to be new and shiny, but every city has them) # shops/markets (including some out of business) # waste ground strewn with rubbish # street furniture (parking metres, lights, bins etc). # light/heavy industry (factories) There should also be some degree of leisure facilities # a football (soccer) field # maybe a small cinema/theatre # a park Civil infrastructure # bus station/depot # schools # government storage/depots for refuse lorries etc
bravo 6 0 Posted April 14, 2006 By the look of that city i only think war is eminent... training milita.. military movement.. choppers in the air.. all looks clear and ready for something.. as i said this city looks very organized/civilized and advanced in a way.. i think we can expect much from this island

In one of the other screens you can see carparks How do you know none of those are offices? How do you know none of those are shops/markets? Maybe you can't see that from the air. Im sure there are lights somewhere. From the looks of it it is dependant on farming. Not to mention I think there is a factory just to the right of the hind wheel of the helicopter. Maybe they don't play football here. Im sure there is a park somewhere. Maybe one of the buildings is a theater Maybe you cant see the bus station or maybe its one of those buildings Maybe one of those buildings is a school Maybe you cant see that storage depot or maybe its in a different city. Just prooving the point that most people assume that every building is a house and not a store, police station, fire station or something else. For all weknow that tall building is a police station, or a giant arcade.

hellfish6 7 Posted April 14, 2006 I'm very happy with the screenshots I'm seeing. The soldier model looks great, the Soviet vehicles look great and the terrain also looks very good. Just wish they'd get rid of the shiny Abrams and all would be right with the world.
dmakatra 1 Posted April 14, 2006 I am just so effin impressed. There was a while when I had little faith in BIS, but the latest interviews/screenies/whatever has restored that faith. Bloody amazing pics. Seeing as how I am who I am, I have one complaint though. The viewdistance seems quite limited to me. I'm talking about this one: http://ofp.gamepark.cz/news/pics3/ArmA_hires_04.jpg Now, I've never been good at eye measurement, but how far could that be? berghoff 11 Posted April 14, 2006 Don't know but well I hope it will be around 1,5 km at minimum so pilots have better view in co-op.
