Haha! I remember how Gamestar.de bashed ArmA when they got the E3 version... hope they like the new version better. O.o

It's our old friend Petra Schmitz (the one who said arma looks horrible compared to Crysis) doing the preview? Oh boy... i hope she isn't too hard on the game.

Edit: It's the old E3 version... nothing to see here people move along.

Well to quote William Porter;

The Sahrani guys...usually speak...a combination of their language (I don’t know what it’s called), French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and English...

So prehaps we'd all better get learning some of the basics! wink_o.gif

Yes AA has normal mapping and specular mapping.

if you did a bit of research on Normal mapping you'r have your answer.

Basicly, Normal mapping > Bumpmapping

For terrain you mean? Can already be done with OFP with converters.

i thought normap map was working only with orientations, i was wrong.

I think they are the same thing but normal mapping uses a larger frequency of colors,rainbow spectrum vs bump maps black to white spectrum,thus getting more details.

Here's a new vid showing a tank battle (100 tanks), leaning, animations, 3D ironsights and some ballistics.

Vid was recorded by L etranger.

I find the sprint and crawling speeds to be horrible. BF2 was more realistic in that aspect. Other than that, awesome stuff.

yeah nice video!

no lag at all with the 100tanks! thumbs-up.gif

but there were not many extra objects, only some rocks, bushes and trees...

the crawling looks not so bad i think, only the footsteps r a bit unfitting as the trace of a crawling soldier! tounge2.gif

Nice Video, but for irrational reasons I'm really sick of these gearshift sounds, they are gearshift sounds, aren't they? Please BIS, change 'em! tounge2.gif

What's bad in that new video:

- Ironsights don't lean when the player leans... not sure if this is a bug, but it sure doesn't look right. At least this happens in OFP.

- Agree with Tioner that crawling is far far far too fast. Bloke looks like he's on something. And that running animation is bloody gawky.

- The viewdistance couldn't be more than 2000 metres... I thought we were promised an astounding view in AA... each video seems to have a smaller viewdistance.

hmm.. yeh i see what you mean by the run and crawl.. definately too fast, second the lean anims seems too i dunno static. , shouldnt you move your leg to gain better support. and thirdly i noticed they hid the animations for the reload from view.

i cant help but wonder that the reloading is merely waving my hand over the rifle again confused_o.gif apart from that the 3d iron sights look good.. that AK could use a reskin though.
