The first pic is really inspiring. Imagine trying to spot a hidden MP sniper with that surrounding...

Well well well ... everything as i suspected in my nightmare!

1. H1 - Thank you BIS, community appreciates this banghead.gif !

2. EXPLOODING tanks (bobooomm) - real war simulator .. kche kche! crazy_o.gif

3. 60 player servers ... rofl.gif that is GOOD one pistols.gif even now you can find 120 player servers on gamespy. ahahah ... i try to imagine the lag ... and crash ... pshhh ... when selecting 60player server there will be a note ("Only for freon cooled workstations with direct SAT connection")

Anyways it is hard to judge by screens, we need videos, after that we can say something. And what bout those wave ant terrain bumpmapping? Looks banghead.gif . Hope they will fix that.

Anyways H1 fellas

EDIT ... and why the hell bis thinks that community needs HUGE islands ... we need realistic gameplay, not huge islands (everon was OK)! Make smaller islands, but better AI and please PLEASE I BEG YOU ... update vehicle coalision! My GOD .. exploding tanks ... feee ... i cant sleep now.

It's really good to see that BIS has used Motion Capture, to make their animations even more realistic. Too bad about the H1, but i won't cry about it, i love the list of details and the screenshots.

I guess it will be worth every second of the wait.

And .. Dare i say ArmA Demo ? I mean, they've got at least 6 months !

I'm actually happy it's delayed.. It means that they have time to keep improving it. I wasn't that impressed by the early pics which might have been what we would have got if ArmA had been released on time.

You keep whining about lots of details yet you get annoyed because it's delayed. Make up your mind, do you want the details which you consider bad to be fixed or?

I'm guessing by moving to the DX9-platform alot of the current calculations have been moved to the GPU thus freeing up alot of CPU-cycles. But I'm only guessing here.

If done effective you can get amazing results (see the Trees of Pangaea-demo from the Speedtree engine).

I don't understand his point. In OFP it said I think MP Support for 32 players. No, if there is now an Support of 60 players, which should be lag-free, why are you complaining? *shaking his head*

playing normal ofp after seeing those screens and reading the promised features!!! makes me nearly a bit sad because we'll have to wait several months for ArmA

One thing that would be nice is to have BIS release a copy of the mission editor/scripting language documents so we can start boneing up on the new possibilities. Or how bout the new config profiles so addon makers could start evaluating whether the old addons will port over etc. etc. etc. thumbs-up.gif

sure smile_o.gif and you missed the 60+ ... that can cover 128 - 160 - 192 - 256 whatever smile_o.gif ...

btw. i feel that You never played "lag" free LAN with 64-110 players in OFPR ...

i sure hope for 128 smile_o.gif ... dont care even if it need best opteron server in world ... it will be worth it !  rofl.gif

Very nice work BIS, I'm really glad to see you included such pretty and realistic burning effects, I hope you've defined them in the cfgcloudlets instead of classical 'drop' commands that are used for such purposes.

well for seeing the first screens not these , i probably wouldnt wait to 2006 , but taking a look at the new ones , made me wait, progres is practicaly indescribable, so im with bis who sayd that Armas is geting closer to a sequel than to an upgrade.

1st of all thanks bis for feeding the comunity! notworthy.gif

this week i burned my motherboard so i went to my usual store and the owner lend me an asus that he has there for those ocasions... i told him i would go there for buying a totaly new computer when bis releases the new game.probably by the end of the month or so... whistle.gif but now i can only step his store by the end of 1st quarter, i cant walk on their street,have to change my phone number. wow_o.gif

now seriously...i dont mind that bis delays things, because the only consequence of that, is a even beter game. that way they can solve more glitches, or even improve features... the screenies talk by themselves, they look good, but what counts is gameplay isnt it?

so until the released of a demo or the final game, i'm to busy here doing what i most like... playing ofp with my friends inlove.gif

ps: give placebo a break now...after so many pressure, he deserves some vacations! rofl.gif

This was a deffinatly welcome progress report!

Lot of good info, and the game is looking good. Def going to be a great game when it comes out. Little bummed about H1, but I think its a safe bet that most of us had a feeling thats when it was going to come out.

Only thing I was a little dissapointed in was no mention of destructable buildings. Thats something I have wanted in FP for years now, and was really holding out hope for them in ArmA. sad_o.gif But who knows... maybe they can be modded in.
