raedor 8 Posted November 11, 2005 As you can read on mapfact.net, we today released a WRPTool Preview-Set made by Sniping-Jack. Quote[/b] ]It contains nearly all 3D-previews but in a much better quality and in addition as well many further, useful Objects from the BIS-Packs. You´ll find all traffic and streets signs more easily with the new previews. To make sure that the Object lists doesn't get longer as they already are, Sniping-Jack not only created new images but new "objects.ini" and "objects.xml" as well. That took him quite some days of work but was well worth it. Download it here.

BlackScorpion 0 Posted November 11, 2005 Woot! Just making an island, this will come handy... Thanks for the birthday present, Mapfact!
Arne 0 Posted November 11, 2005 You could decrease the filesize dramatically by deleting both Thumbs.db files (they are hidden) down to 6.4MB. Windoze Explorer generates them for faster thmub-nail preview of the pictures. I did some 3D-previews for WrpTool a long time ago - with proper XML files: - JOF-Objects - JOF Baracken - AGS Harbour - AGS Industry - AGS Buildings If there's interest I can put it on ftp space. bye, Arne
honchoblack 2 Posted November 11, 2005 Great Job Mapfact team, that is exactly what I needed and was to lazy to do myself. Thanks alot for saving the work this very handy addition to the WRP-tool. Arne: I am very interested in the previews and init files for the addons you posted, either PM me a link, or even better release it to public. I think that those additions are very usefull in the WRP tool, and there is no need for everyone to make the same work over and over.
berghoff 11 Posted November 11, 2005 Nice, someone should really do some addons packs aswell.
klavan 0 Posted November 11, 2005 Just in time! I began some days ago experimenting with WRPTool and this stuff will surely come in handy! Thank you mapfact!! Klavan
honchoblack 2 Posted November 11, 2005 I found a slight mistake in the objects.ini, the objekt stul_kuch1.p3d is located in the O\misc folder instead of data3d, to which it leads now. change in the objects.ini the appropiate path Before: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">data3d\stul_kuch1.p3d=inventory After: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">o\misc\stul_kuch1.p3d=inventory

CameronMcDonald 146 Posted November 11, 2005 So start making islands, island-makers! Thanks Mapfact! Can't wait to see what people come up with now its 100% easier.
nubbin77 0 Posted November 12, 2005 I get an error now when I load up my islands - no p3d found for 980 models. Does this mean that the actual objects are now replaced with these goofy symbols? They are nice from zoomed out, but up close I'd rather see the actual model so I can judge how far apart things are. Did I install something wrong or is this how it is supposed to be? IF this is how it is supposed to be, this really screws me up. I gotta reinstall the old stuff cuz I can't tell how far apart my buildings are now.
honchoblack 2 Posted November 12, 2005 you have to readjust the settings, found under settings/change settings... then you will have the buildings shaped in the actual size, rather than those big round symbols

sniping-jack 0 Posted November 12, 2005 Thx a lot for your replies, guys! @Snake Man: There's nothing to thank, it's been a pleasure for me to give a little bit back for your greate Tool we are working with. Â If would feel honoured if you would add this stuff into your 1.0-Release. @Honcho: That isn't a mistake. This table and a lot of other stuff is built in twice. It doesn't matter where the path is pointed to. Both tables are exactly the same. @all: I've made previews from nearly every static-addon. But most of them are...hummm...lets call them "not perfect". Â So I sweeped all stuff out and in future I will use only addons which are really well made. That means: good looking Addons with good performance! Of course I will bring up all Mapfact-Addon-Previews to you, but we just working on them and maybe we will restruct them too. So it would make no sense for me to bring it into WrpTool right now. If the Packs are updated I will make an update to the Previews, too. Â

Ironsight 1 Posted November 12, 2005 Speaking of wprtool, where is a good tutorial on it? The PDF included with WRPtool is the best guide there is

Both tables are exactly the same. Strange, since I got an error message upon loading a map in WRPTool. I checked my depboed data3d folder and couldnt find the stul_kuch1.p3d. I found it as stated in the O\misc folder, and changed the path accodingly. I have the game of the year edition, maybe the p3d is not available in the data3d.pbo in that version. sniping-jack 0 Posted November 12, 2005 Hummm... thats maybe the answer... In my very first version of OFP-CWC from the year 2001 there is the table inside the data3d-folder definately. Ok, when I'm going to increase the previews I will change the path to resistance.
[aps]gnat 28 Posted November 13, 2005 <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>WOW !</span> Between Jacks wonderful pack (Top job ! and also Team Yankees stuff .... I now have a GREAT WrpTool setup Thanks guys. My only suggest for any further releases, please make them so they APPEND to existing xmls and configs plz. It becomes extreme difficult to incorporate the data into my already customised files. BTW addon makers, im sure BIS have a mandatory contract with you to generate and supply WrpTool previews whenever you release static addon hehehe
