10motb 0 Posted April 28, 2006 looking cool, does any body know what whil armA bring new except new looks (i watched a video of it didnt impress me much) if that is it i will stay with the old ofp and ffur mods
marine26thmeu 0 Posted April 28, 2006 10motb, as far as I know other than an improved graphics, destroyable buildings, more simulated nature environment, and so forth it won't be too far of a stretch from the original OFPR. I too saw the video and noticed the same BIS death animations, musical score (the scene where the UH-60 is hovering over the grass) and some other things. So far only going from what was provided in the sample video I'd say the large difference from ArmA are the graphics. Unless they will integrate f/x as FFUR 4.5 or Y2K3 did (AI surrender, playing possum, etc) it looks to be more or less just like VBS1. Except it being intended for a commercial audience, with a new storyline, new island, etc. But I'm a OFPR nut so I enjoyed the video still...

Jackal326 1181 Posted April 28, 2006 Glad to see delving into the realms of off-topic isn't just a syndrome confined to threads I create....actually, I'm not glad at all. Keep it on topic lads/ladettes. Anyway, those optic textures look awesome Benus, very nice work. I'll have to hit you up on MSN sotime to see if I can get those for the weapons pack
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted April 28, 2006 Why is that so-called shotgun using the designation G36?
benus 0 Posted April 29, 2006 it uses the g36.p3d for testing the texture ! here some reworked ironsights: M4A1: new M4Reflex: if no one likes the green I can remove it ... not sure if it is realistic but I have seen some pics that show the reflex sight like that. old reflex: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/hansen/M4A1Reflex.jpg New M4 Acog SD: old version: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/hansen/acogtest.jpg well very old version ... but it more or less looks like that in the packs at the moment benus

Big Dawg KS 6 Posted April 29, 2006 Kegel, remove the images from your quote, forum rule. Question, how are you supposed to use that ACOG with no zoom? It's also kind of small, I mean don't you think the operator could get his eye a little closer?
Blackbuck 9 Posted April 29, 2006 i think its in rainbow six raven shield not sure though
mp_phonix 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I really liked the effect that the rear sight is little blured (as it is in real life) lovly about the green, im not sure, but if it is greenish, i think its a little lighter and less visible . .
EricJ 759 Posted April 29, 2006 @Benus: The view through a Trijicon Reflex sight is sorta tinted with an orange-yellow triangle, and yeah, move the eye closer to the ACOG. You can shoot it with both eyes, but still need the proper eye relief with any scope with zoom.
echo1 0 Posted April 29, 2006 new M4Reflex:if no one likes the green I can remove it ... not sure if it is realistic but I have seen some pics that show the reflex sight like that. Get rid of the transperancy, I remember in the Euro pack I was neverable to use the Aimpoint optic on the AG36 because the tranarency really affected my ability to see enemies, especially when they were well camoflagued. This sights are meant to make it easier to use your gun, not harder! Personally I'd prefer to see the EoTech instead of Reflex, but thats just my two cents. Otherwise, looking good
cornhelium 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Hi Benus, I agree with the above points on the ACOG zoom and tinting on the Reflex, but otherwise these optics look divine Cheers mate, CH
martinovic 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Lenses like that exist, they sort of have a light gathering quality, bah i even saw an ad for sunglasses that had lenses like that. Helps to see contrast in bad weather i don't know how to describe it and i can't find links either. Don't know how many gunsights use it though But anyway, here: its a silly sunglass http://wonderfulbuys.ca/mojave_eyewear/mojave_eyewear.html , but the "bright amber" type lens is whats you are looking for i believe, on that note if you want to immitate it in OFP you should use that yellowish color, but i don't think OFP can simulate stuff like that, maybe arma with is HDR effects. marine26thmeu 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Benus, those are some great iron sights! Just curious are the AK sights remaining the same or are they going to change as well? Thanks

benus 0 Posted April 29, 2006 ok we will remove the green tint from the reflex sight. about the ACOG ... it seems as if there are lots of different version with a red triangle or a dot or a cross. but we think that the one we use is the most common one, but we are not sure about that. it is called TA01NSN i think. I made it bigger: and here is a new AKs74u ironsight: benus
meyamoti 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Oh I love the AK74 ironisight Their all looking great
marine26thmeu 0 Posted April 29, 2006 That ACOG optic hit the nail on the head! Also that AK74SU sight is a great improvement over the previous, though the original was pretty good. That's some great looking work guys!
EricJ 759 Posted April 29, 2006 Yeah it's definitely a great ACOG optic view, but everybody forgets that a 3.5x zoom also blurs out the front sight post so it isn't there. There's a good article in Combat Arms on the ACOG, and there's a picture with a Marine with his front sight post of his M16A4 shredded by a 7.62 bullet. The Marine didn't realize that his front sight post was damaged as he used an ACOG as his optic.
Marco.A.Aguilar1 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I've been keeping up with these ironsight views and they are looking really great. In fact, one of the best I have seen in any game. Keep up this great work that keeps making FFUR a better mod than it already was. Heck, it practically is already another game all in itself all thanks to talented folks like the FURR team and the creators of Real Virtuality.

Marco.A.Aguilar1 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Hey TB, what are you going to use for the HMMWVs and such? Are you going to use the CBT ones?
seminara 4 Posted April 30, 2006 I made it bigger:and here is a new AKs74u ironsight: benus Benus, those ironsights are fantastic - excellent work.  One question about the AKs74u ironsight. Would it be possible to make the centre aiming pillar (or whatever it's termed) a bit narrower like the AK74?  Or is it really that thick? Also, (not sure if this has been covered) but re. the intro splash screen on 2006, is it possible to loose the fade in fade out effect?  It really slows the process of choosing your mission or campaign to an irritating degree. Thanks for all your hard work fellas
