Vectum 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I've tried installing the FFUR mod for like 20 times now , I keep getting the same error with the auto-install file. "The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk , a failed download , or a virus. You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy. It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch ( NOT RECOMMENDED ) Could anyone help me out ? Â EdÃt : Guess it's the file from Ofp-center.de , where I downloaded it from twice , all the other links are dead though
Blackbuck 9 Posted April 15, 2006 downlaod from ofp.info might take a while to re-download but is should work i got the same error messages for the desert pack and 2005 pack
SHWiiNG 0 Posted April 15, 2006 hmm, used it, it seems that some ECP effects arent working, for example, the options menu isnt working, and the soldiers no longer shout out when underfire for example or say random stuff when relaxed, whats the problem?? mr. Duck 0 Posted April 15, 2006 hmm, used it, it seems that some ECP effects arent working, for example, the options menu isnt working, and the soldiers no longer shout out when underfire for example or say random stuff when relaxed, whats the problem?? That's because FFUR is not ECP. Both use different config's. And no you can't use both. Well you can actually implement those shouting AI but that requires some knowledge about the config's. uncle reiben 0 Posted April 16, 2006 aside from the CTDs which are obviously being taken care of FFUR 2006 is the best version of the pack yet IMHO. I've but two requests I respectfully present... A classname reference to include non-bis classnames used in the pack to assist in mission editing (is there one out there?) while most classnames are BIS defaults there are some that arent and it's hard to figure them out on my own and again I want to advocate the return of the 40mm M433 HEDP Vest... the M203 is such an important platform in an infantry squad in an OFP environment and not everyone designs missions and plays OFP in such a manner that a justifies a restriction of 6 grenades for "Gameplay purposes" the friends I've been playing OFP for years with also miss the vest since when we play it's often the same mission for hours. its lousy when you only have 6 grenades at most with 4 magazines. in comparison AF Security Forces personnel carry 7 Magazines (210 Rounds) and an HEDP Vest of 18 Grenades when posted with M203s, 6 being less than half a combat loadout. The HEDP Vest isn't as necessary as a classname reference for FFUR, but I threw it in there since I don't crawl out of my hole and post here very often. Thanks,
Blackbuck 9 Posted April 16, 2006 that is a very good thing to ask i hate having 6 m203's at most and then having to go find some more ofa dead team mate, i gave up and rearmed all my "bis/ffur" units with JAM3 compat stuff so i can get the vest and belt for the m203
Vectum 0 Posted April 16, 2006 Got the non-corrupt install now. Very nice Mod. One thing I don't like though , are the sounds of explosions of missiles off heli's and airplanes , didn't test other missiles yet , only if they didn't hit an object , but just the ground , you just get some squeezy , weird sound. Rest of the sounds and graphics are really good though.
deathsai 0 Posted April 16, 2006 I like the mod, but the CTDs just make it unplayable. Back to ECP until they are fixed.
Blackbuck 9 Posted April 16, 2006 patch is allready on the way if youd care to read back through the last umpteen pages
mattxr 9 Posted April 16, 2006 patch is allready on the way if youd care to read back through the last umpteen pages `yes but the patch could be a while if we have to wait for the sounds to get fixed and the RHS units to get released
Bobcatt666 0 Posted April 17, 2006 BDU troops are still wearing boots from the 70s that were phased out. Even the OD green on black jungle boots had become unauthroized for wear after the first gulf war so many men messed their feet up wearing them. was replaced with a blasck combat boot with nodirectional tread like on the M151 jeep tires. Blackbuck 9 Posted April 17, 2006 i presume because it was a jungle boot and not ment for fighting in Iraq...
JobJenkins222 0 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the screen on the multiplayer menu goes black every 5 seconds. It's incredibly annoying. Am i the only one?
456820 0 Posted April 17, 2006 thats been mentioned several times. Its part of the actual cutscene in the background when it uses black in' and black out's it does it to the screen aswell. Looks good if your watcing the cutscene but if your trying to use the options then not so good. Edit - Noticed the Russian 50Cals dont seem to shoot at me much only when im on the other side of the sand bags so there not firing over the top other then that they just seem to look at me unless i setdammage the fence to 1 then they seem to shoot. Messiah 2 Posted April 17, 2006 Edit - Noticed the Russian 50Cals dont seem to shoot at me much only when im on the other side of the sand bags so there not firing over the top other then that they just seem to look at me unless i setdammage the fence to 1 then they seem to shoot. BIS sandbags were badly made and werent AI frienly in terms of shooting over... not a FFUR problem.
456820 0 Posted April 17, 2006 but the fact that the Russian 50 was repalced with a really low down machine gun which just skims the sand bag is the problem im suggesting it to be reaplaced with the taller one which was in the previous pack
Shadow NX 1 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the screen on the multiplayer menu goes black every 5 seconds. It's incredibly annoying. Am i the only one? Youre not, it was mentioned a gazillion times already in this thread Its a feature but as many dont like it it will be deleted with the next update
JobJenkins222 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Ahhh ok, thank you. Also, will surrendering be re-introduced into the next release??
echo1 0 Posted April 17, 2006 What ever happened to the features (I think they were in one of the FFUR 4 versions) were a) soldiers floated when they drowned, and b) the weapons became seperate from the soldiers body when killed? (although I think I remember this made it impossible to pick up some weapons)
marine26thmeu 0 Posted April 17, 2006 I was kind of wondering about those things too, some of which I thought were pretty interesting. Namely the feature where AI surrendered if you inflicted heavy casualties on them. As far as I can remember those features didn't prove to increase lag. All I remember is that when it went from FFUR 4.5 to FFUR 5.0 those features were gone. But all the other new stuff (reflective simulation, fire effects) and other stuff is pretty cool with the current version of FFUR.
Guest Posted April 18, 2006 Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but with 200 some pages here, I am apprehensive to try to search it out - durring FFUR mod all MG gunners are sitting 3 feet into the ground, its so bad that the mission im working on so far will not have any MG emplacements cause I dont want this to be seen during the mission play, as I intend to release this mission with the suggestion of the use of FFUR mod while playing it. My question therefore is, will the new patch fix the MG gunner buried in the ground thing? (aside from ctd's) Hope this does show how much I like the mod tho, cause even with the CTD's and the MG gunner thing Im keeping it on, its just too great an overall upgrade to not use it. Main reason I never got too much into putting in addons and new mods was cause I had to keep searching alover constantly to find the stuff, more time getting it in right, the individual issues with each user addition, I really think FFUR is a great concept, to be able to combine ALOT of great user made stuff into one big easy download and install. Shadow NX 1 Posted April 18, 2006 The machinegunners are also fixed in the next patch afaik
