Offtopic: As far as the hitler and stalin thing is concerned, Stalin killed far more people than hitler. He just came out on the winning side so he did take as bad a rap.

Target of shortcut should read:

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\libmod.exe"

Start in should read:

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint"

Or something similar, you get the idea. Hope this helps.

Really an awesome and best WW2 MOD in the current OFP! Their german pack is the best I ever saw in the game, very nice, also those soviet songs , such as the "Holy war" makes the game very realistic and just bring us back to that bloody war time sixty years ago.

Just a little regret about their russian soldiers. Of course, the texture is very good but it seems those russian soldiers should carry more kits, such as backpacks and quilt belts for each combat soldier. In addition, the 1941 helmet doesn't look very realistic and should be modified.

I spent the last hour taking a look at all the units and testing their weapons.

The iron sights are great.  

Plus the testures on the tanks are very, very detailed

Also, great to see a good MG34 finally

Overall a exellent mod

Now we just need an island specially based on 1940s Russia (with acouple of famous citys, Stalingrad maybe?    ), and some missions to go with the units

Haven't tried yet, but anims.pbo from Y2K3 mod sort of works with some glitches.

Liberation are planning to release a minor patch later tonite that will feature two missions, fixed missing shadows on some of the guns and some other changes.

Yea i dont understand, there are no missions or campaign I can start? When I start the mod it says Episode 1: barbarossa and then the screen is black for a few sec before black and white photographs are coming up and then the main meny comes up. But there are no traces of "liberation" in the campaign game or single mission section?? Help?

Finally it's here! But that slideshow thing sounds pretty bad...

Anyways, there IS a Stalingrad island (search ofp.gamezone.cz for "stalingrad") but at least on my comp, if there are any waypoints, it takes ages to load. I had a very small mission with only one german sniper, one german group, one russian patrol and one russian sniper (you) and it took like 2mins to load.

Wohoo! Very nice! IMO I think this really captures a wee bit of what a battle feels like. Most of the time I'm really quite disoriented and confused when playing this mod (in a good way ) attacking a russian position with a group of motorcycles really is quite thrilling. Not to mention busting German tanks in a Russian punishment batallion

Several missions and minor bug fixes will be released with a patch later today. Main campaign and set of missions are going to be included with upcoming Brest island!

Holy greatness, this mod is GREAT. Had some fun taking out a base of germans, starting with just my trusty Nagant revolver and binoculars. Nothing beats sneaking up to a sniper and shooting him in the back.

But the tanks have some minor flaws. Like when I shoot the driver, he bleeds and dies, but he doesn't seem to die. But after I had emptied 2-3 SMG drums into him, I decided to take a look... And he was dead. And when I climb on the tank and try to shoot him from the inside, the ricochet just kills me.. Well, maybe in OFP2 we have realistic tank crew-killing.

Now, I'm using FDF's East Border map for my missions. I think FDF's maps of Easter Boarder and Malveic are the best for battles in Russia. The birches, wheat, river, forest, houses from these maps really give you the russian atmosphere.

The point that Russia lost the most men is only one thing. The reason they said major contribution is because 9/10 German soldiers died on the Eastern Front. Allies opened the 2nd front in 1944 and mostly because they didn't want Soviet territory to spread from Japan to France...

That did not bother me until now. I do not want to get into it because I know it will result with some sort of warning from the Mods or a locking of topic, but there is honestly nothing to be proud of when it comes to Stalin. I have nothing against Russians but when it comes to Stalin himself, 1953 came much too late.

i agree with that belegrot there have been many bloodthirsty dictators over the history of the world, we only know more about the recent ones in the past 100 years (as there is more knowledge and documentation on them)

as far as i see, nations are not inhabited by bad people, dictators define that in the case of stalin and hitler for example (crosses fingers and hopes tony blair pops it and someone become PM that doesnt look like dumbo with a fat grin :P)

Official statistics - 27 millions. These people have been found and buried. Nobody knows, how much are not. Only in forests near Novgorod about 300.000 soldiers are still not found. So the figure varies from 27 up to 60 millions.
