Head model/Face textures

look the fact that i have vbs1 doenst change anything

it ur beer do wot u want to

i just want to tell u that u poker high with this

ok the face might be diffrent from one of the vbs1 textures

but the eyes and hands are the same

it is illegal to submit any vbs1 content to anyone who does not have vbs1

even if its te smallest texture

its not clear if the head texture will work on the new head once ingame due its size

maybe vbs1 is a hl2 alpha version ((?!??!)

looks VERY similar to a vbs1 face texture....

i dont doom this project

i myself say we need new models

but vbs1 shouldnt be the aim its not that super cool as anyone amy think...

my new models are pretty detailed but they are uniuqe

thats y ive cancled the uap

the quality id had to make of the textures were just bad when it came to swapping...

the face texture i use is a high resolution texture (4096)

and its 10mb big

if u zoom u can even see the slightest detail

but look there are several new head models around by now

like LSR´s or from our weapons mod

so llauma isn thte only one

id say that u all should get 2 gether and design new models all together

but not onyl new heads and hands

also new bodies ...

That is the same thing I am wondering. I would think that heads and hands to be redesigned for now, making new bodies would turn into a pretty big project...

It would be nice though I agree. Most of the bodies, ones by Lowland's Warrior, UKF, even HYK's units, are pretty good. All they need is a decent head model which Llauma has created..

Its not easy work. If he would implement new head model to those units, there also must be corrected helmets, hats etc. The form of standart BIS head is differ, than in any new custom head model.

The helmets and other stuff is done properly. No need for change.

Not my texture, and it was from The Specialist, a Half Life 1 mod, so I doubt they stole anything from VBS1.

I just used the maps (that pic that Mr. Burns posted) and pasted the picture atop it and tweaked in in Photoshop. I didn't mean to do any harm.

LOL you think that face has separate EYES and face like in VBS1 ONLY IN VBS1....  biggrin_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif so i just can say VBS1 developers copied how face looks from another game tounge_o.gif

Don't mind Nephilim, perhaps she had a bad day or something. No one has said that we will use any part of the VBS1 textures. I wont unless we are allowed.

The things we have posted containing VBS stuff are just examples until we make our own. VBS1 has got alot from this community so if we aren't even allowed to use a single texture as an example with no intention to use it in the final pack without a permition I don't know what to say..

Edit: I did a test adding the head to the lsr delta unit.. Sorry for the untextured parts but it's too much work to remap it for one single pic. I'm still not sure if the profile is good enough but it's a decent start. I should perhaps add 3-4 more faces to the nose.

Yes, but it's always useful to collect possible textures. I am sure we'll use something similar to what has been posted. Any other format would be pointless. Those who doesn't want to use gizmo mapping for their head models can still map the old way with the new textures and the result will still be far better than the current faces.

I have to remind you that I'm just a rookie at modelling and texturing, and especially mapping so if there are some skilled people here who think they might know something useful I'll gladly accept the aid.

Those are some good looking heads. I agree with Llauma about the lopsidedness that the VBS community get to use our addons but not the other way around. It's essentially hamstringing our modding community. I just don't have the money to shell out for a new machine and every module of VBS.

So will anyone pick up the cause that Nephilim has dropped of creating female heads/bodies? I've got a Female radio voicepack beta to ready to go out with no real troops (other than BWMOD medic units and BIS civillians) to use them on. sad_o.gif
