Head model/Face textures

Recommended Posts

i think i know how to make normal maps without converting model to .3ds

heres a example of the texture you included with the head model

but im not sure if its the right thing confused_o.gif

It's not quite that simple for advanced models like a head. The example you showed is useful for adding som height variation to otherwise plane surfaces, but a normal map for a head has to contain info that shows that it's a round surface.

Example:

I will release the head model with UV map once it's finished. I'll try to get it public as soon as possible, but you can still create new textures by using the template texture. I am still not sure about the texture layout and resolution but if people just creates the face part of it with front and sides merged they have done most of the work. Try to make it 1024 pxl's wide if possible. Don't remove the ears and eyes.

arma doesnt support bump maps

llauma get nividas normal map plugin for psp or use the normal mapper.

u basically first make a greyscale height image

black parts are the deepest

white are the the tallest regions

then convert it to a normal mapt with any normal map tool

and overlay the sperate r g b channel over the texture

easy and uncomplicated
