Fab. 0 Posted March 10, 2006 hi thanks for the comments, we'll try to make a small video soon... gotta do some minor work on the code first (some transitions not coded yet etc..)
sputnik monroe 102 Posted March 10, 2006 Sounds like a revolution. Will this new animation system be compatible with all of flashpoint, or will units have to have some sort of special class or code of some sort?
belgerot 33 Posted March 10, 2006 Quoting Sengir from WWIIEC forum; Quote[/b] ]Thanks for comments people My anims arent default OFP anim replacements, they are tailored for our new model and they use and uniqued code to work. There will be no BIS anims when we are done with the animation job. Anyway, any soldiers addons based on old BIS models will work with them tho. (if you put such addons inside Caen44 MOD)
llauma 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Damn this looks cool, in lack of better words. It feel's refreshing.
Bloodnick 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Caen is surely going to have doubled ofp's normal system specs, just look at it!
llauma 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Caen is surely going to have doubled ofp's normal system specs, just look at it! Tell me a new mod which doesn't do that. To me the Caen 44 mod seems fairly well balanced. These are the system requirements for Resistance: CPU 733 MHz or faster, 256 MB RAM or more, 32 MB or more 3D card, 1.5 GB HDD, CD-ROM, keyboard, mouse, sound card, DirectX 8 and above, Windows 98/2000/XP So the double of that are quite low spec's today. jagy. 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Sengir have similar spec of his PC and he havent got any problems with lag.
Fab. 0 Posted March 11, 2006 I'm developing everything with a 3 years old laptop... here are my specs : 1.6ghz Pentium 4 384mb ram 32mb ati readeon 7500 for laptop so u can guess i'm not developing stuff that would lag on my own computer... new anims system doesnt demand more perfs than default anim... the only thing that really demand performance here is the vegetation, and because i have such an old computer i spent ages finding out what create lags and what doesnt... eventually an island with the grass and hedgerows i made gives me at least 30 fps while a regular ofp island gives me about 40 or so... so i think its quite honest... seeing the imrpovement that is..
belgerot 33 Posted March 11, 2006 30 fps isn't too bad, especially for the way that vegetation looks
Fab. 0 Posted March 12, 2006 I'm working on some tall weed field (will make a dried one too...) what do u think ? (click to enlarge)
Deagle 0 Posted March 12, 2006 It looks very nice! Lots of flowers
sim 0 Posted March 12, 2006 I don't think lag will be a problem guys. Trust me, out of everyones comp at WWIIEC, Sengirs probably has the lowest specs, wish I could find the convo I had with him where he actually told me what they were. I really wouldn't worry about lag, if it doesnt lag on Sengirs comp, then it sure as hell won't lag on yours!
lendrom 0 Posted March 12, 2006 what do u think ? What do we think? Are you serious? What kind of question is that? What can we think? It's a b s o l u t e l y beautiful. I cant wait.
belgerot 33 Posted March 13, 2006 Glad to hear that lag will not be an issue with vegetation of this quality, it definately brings a lot more life to the atmosphere in OFP. Keep up the good work gents
Fab. 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Hi there, its been a while but the works never stops... as you all know i'm working on various stuff, and yesterday i decided to do some work on the forests... made some bushes and a forest high res ground texture. the trees are temporary and will be replaced by better ones... basically this is still work in progress

berghoff 11 Posted April 12, 2006 Gotta say thats the best forest floor I've seen so far for a temperate enviroment
POPKA 0 Posted April 12, 2006 good amount of detail, which is nicer than seeing plain empty forest floors
stgn 39 Posted April 12, 2006 Wow your work is so beatiful it makes me wonna crie. -NO BULLSHIT STGN
CsonkaPityu 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Looks better then ArmA. Seriously those are the most kick-ass germans i've seen for OFP so far.
archsceptic 21 Posted April 12, 2006 Fab, stop trying to make it better, it's already too good x10. Are the Wheat fields distributed en-masse on the Caen island or are they placed in relative isolation like JC's Normandy? Can't wait...
Fab. 0 Posted April 12, 2006 hi thank you all for the nice comments from the infos we got, the northern part of the map (which extends from bayeux on the north west, to the boundaries of caen on the east and villers bocage on the south west), is pretty much the wheat field area while the southern part is more about grass fields for cattle... so basically big wheat fields in the north and small bocage fields in the south if that answers your question ?
