Sounds like a revolution. Will this new animation system be compatible with all of flashpoint, or will units have to have some sort of special class or code of some sort?

Quoting Sengir from WWIIEC forum;

Quote[/b] ]Thanks for comments people smile_o.gif

My anims arent default OFP anim replacements, they are tailored for our new model and they use and uniqued code to work. There will be no BIS anims when we are done with the animation job. Anyway, any soldiers addons based on old BIS models will work with them tho. (if you put such addons inside Caen44 MOD)

Caen is surely going to have doubled ofp's normal system specs, just look at it!

Tell me a new mod which doesn't do that. To me the Caen 44 mod seems fairly well balanced.

These are the system requirements for Resistance:

CPU 733 MHz or faster, 256 MB RAM or more, 32 MB or more 3D card,

1.5 GB HDD, CD-ROM, keyboard, mouse, sound card,

DirectX 8 and above, Windows 98/2000/XP

So the double of that are quite low spec's today.

Sengir have similar spec of his PC and he havent got any problems with lag.

I'm developing everything with a 3 years old laptop... here are my specs :

1.6ghz Pentium 4

384mb ram

32mb ati readeon 7500 for laptop

so u can guess i'm not developing stuff that would lag on my own computer...

new anims system doesnt demand more perfs than default anim...

the only thing that really demand performance here is the vegetation, and because i have such an old computer i spent ages finding out what create lags and what doesnt...

eventually an island with the grass and hedgerows i made gives me at least 30 fps while a regular ofp island gives me about 40 or so...

so i think its quite honest... seeing the imrpovement that is..

30 fps isn't too bad, especially for the way that vegetation looks smile_o.gif

I don't think lag will be a problem guys. Trust me, out of everyones comp at WWIIEC, Sengirs probably has the lowest specs, wish I could find the convo I had with him where he actually told me what they were.

I really wouldn't worry about lag, if it doesnt lag on Sengirs comp, then it sure as hell won't lag on yours! biggrin_o.gif

Glad to hear that lag will not be an issue with vegetation of this quality, it definately brings a lot more life to the atmosphere in OFP. Keep up the good work gents smile_o.gif

Fab, stop trying to make it better, it's already too good x10.

Are the Wheat fields distributed en-masse on the Caen island or are they placed in relative isolation like JC's Normandy?

Can't wait...

hi

thank you all for the nice comments smile_o.gif

from the infos we got, the northern part of the map (which extends from bayeux on the north west, to the boundaries of caen on the east and villers bocage on the south west), is pretty much the wheat field area while the southern part is more about grass fields for cattle...

so basically big wheat fields in the north and small bocage fields in the south if that answers your question ? whistle.gif
