hmmm. so there's suppressing fire in the upcoming release? cool.

so (drawing inferences here) you can tell AI where to supress. maybe even have LMG AI smart enough to lay down fire on groups of enemy themselves? and then... have the enemy ai smart enough to be scared of the bullets and take cover? and vice versa?

anywhere close?. biggrin_o.gif

Hmm well the ECP video and screens on the first page do cover up all those things very well.

I'll try and fix some screens for you guys tonight , and try and capture the feel of ECP's FX effects if i can. Its something which you can only see/hear in an animated envoirnment properly , screens dont do justice you cant just capture an explosion half way through and say it looks nice however following it from start to end is something nice , in ECP when a tank fires a shell and it lands on the ground the , the dust explodes up like a mini mushroom cloud , same for those HE grenades but its tough to get those things on screen.

Hope you understand , i'll try anyhow later.

I can't wait for this. My only fear is that it will butcher my poor Radeon 9600 XT to death.

My apologies for not having read the whole thread, but is there a proposed release date? After all, the thread is a countdown. :P

and what if u want the Resistance to be west and they are putting it to East?

like Crassus said how does it work.. at leaste giving us some information cant be that hard and its no secret since u told us :P

i think you've misunderstood what it is...

putting resistance friendly to west will stop them firing apon you... thats it... they wont share enemy positions with you etc like a west colleague would....

i think this new bit of wizzardry makes resistance, when they're on your side, communicate enemy positions with you over the radio or something to that effect

It means that Resistance and East/West (whoevers their ally) didnt used to share info before on the targets if they were operating in the same AO , now they will , more trouble for the player. If res guys see you they'll let the east know 'hey look we found the idiot hes here' and then your in a boatload of trouble tounge_o.gif .

Cant say much on how THIS works , better let machoman or zay handle it. Hmm but this does explain though why i am dying too frequently in a few missions ive been playing , and i was blaming the poor mission authors for it crazy_o.gif .

ECP wont sap your GPU though it will make your CPU sweat a bit harder , most of the work in ECP is not graphical but calculatory , like AI talking to each other in background etc etc.

No release date , its done when its done , were getting close though.

No your not , we got people teesting ECP on P3 @ 800 Mhz with no significant problems you should be fine.

Anyhoo heres a pic for someone who a few pages back asked for how cartridges in ECP work , heres how they simply fly they were landing on my face when i took this screen biggrin_o.gif

Now that it took so long I asked 5/6 months ago on the news that the new ECP was comming I asked if the carry your wounded teammate action is it now implented in the new version rock.gif

Hope it is cause that will be awesome wink_o.gif

Now, now, i'm more impressed about the blood effect in the picture.

Looks good. wink_o.gif

But on the other hand, i'm not so impressed about the cartridge effect, it still hasn't got the effect which I was expecting, may be it's because the picture was taken on a slope, so could you take another photo pleeeease sad_o.gif ,

This time, on a Desert Island and we need a machine gunner shooting at a infantry platoon coming over the hill.

In addition, I was expecting a effect which the cartridges fly out of the rifle and "spins slightly in the air" (which I considered impossible) and lands on the ground randomly facing and if it's an machine gun fire the cartidge lands over eachother, which after a long time of firing, makes up a pile of shells scatterd on the ground.

As you might already noticed, I'm being a little tough here but, if it is possible, those effects will be revolutionary.

But, I'm being really realistic too, I know those kind of effects are a bugger(shit, pain in the ass) of a thing to code in, and i really respect for your great work. @ECP

Don't blame me for, ideas just come up in my head one after the other. Cheers ECP.

I only recently found out about this mod but it seems like it will be great. I really hope it will be released soon though as I don't have any other good wargames to play.

Speaking of the release date, how come the first thread hasn't been updated with a new (estimated) one? I don't care if it's "in 2 months or "after OFP2 has been released", just don't give me "when it's done"... tounge_o.gif
