AEF-Campaign: Train Addon FINISHED

Great train, works very well, but it creates too much lag on my system.

I have a question about the new reallights...

The searchlights for the barrack towers, how can I switch them on? It appears on the map with an M2 machinegun icon, but I can't enter it, even unlocked.  

This inflame true doesn't work either rock.gif

Found a working searchlight on the civilian side.

Nice but very weird actually,AFAIK it's based on a M2 machinegun, the gunner is a NULL object and when I place an empty one, I can't enter it.

I have been pretty skeptical about this project all along--I had no doubt that you guys would get trains in OFP, but I did have my doubts about OFP actually being able to handle them in a believable manner.

I just tried it. Wow. You guys did a nice job. The train is great (I liked the posters in the passenger car) and the island isn't too shabby either. I had almost as much fun doing KLR laps on the road at night as I did messing with the train. tounge_o.gif

This is why I like the OFP community: Innovation

Now I can't wait to see what you've done with Phoenix Island.

i liked it. very nice. i just downloaded, but untested the new version. so i applogise if these bugs have been fixed, or are simply unfixable.

the AI is able to attach cars and move no problem.. well with a considerable ammount of waypoints.. but starting out in a P51 flying (i assume this has somethign to do with clashing scripts) the thing keeps saying "wagon coupled" over and over again and i watch the frame rate drop by 2 everytime it says it til it goes down to 1 and i have to restart.. but if i start on the ground right next to the train. theres no problem.

if u strafe the train.. and u blow up a "wagon" (car) i get a bunch of crys for my cease fire from civilians.. even thou the cars themselves are empty crazy_o.gif

in any case.. this is still extremly awesome to play with! biggrin_o.gif its also alot of fun to place a civial car "stuck" on the tracks and ram it at full speed. thats also fun biggrin_o.gif

If anyone has some good scripts or hints to have the AI handling the trains without problems (even if it is workarounds) without tons of waypoints, feel free to share smile_o.gif

Would be interesting to make an AI controlled train system like the bus system BIS used in the first mission of the Resistance campaign.

Must be something else. I have a low system and ran a long string of cars.

I love this addon, it's so....... Cool....

Finaly a train to drive around with, in circles.

These addons show the mark of true greatness - beautifully realised, intuitive to operate and tremendous fun. Thankyou to all who've made it possible - very well done!!

My year would be perfect if there were just some (Oberon) Ferret 2s to load onto those flatbeds...

If nothing else think of the Nogovan senior citizens who cant drive, Nogovas given a lot to this community and they deserve a railway.

Thinking of it for a new version of Nogova 2004.

Can you AEF guys write a small tutorial about how to make a train model compatible with the AEF system?

There will be another small train lesson in the next few days including info about how to build a track system and how to create new trains.
