That article reminds me of this ad: When I was a student and in the time before, I was travelling a lot as a backpacker to many countries on different continents around the world for months. Our world is just beautiful. There was one thing what I did learn, that culture is unique and diverse around our planet, people are brothers n sisters at heart. Besides that you actually value, discover and tolerate the diversity in our world you learn a lot about yourself, you get a view from outside about your origin and recognize that also your own culture and society is unique, you notice that Europe is a pearl of a continent with the most density of culturual diversity in the world. To tell any european citizen of any country or region that those would not have their own culture is not just historical wrong its an effrontery, and if the wheel was invented in Mesopotamia and brought to here it doesnt mean they did invent a motor vehicle. Those who are responsible with the release of such content shouldnt be suprised about if they are actually creating here and there nationalism, trying to spread some form of tolerance for foreigness but actually create content which is directed against the own identity of regions or countries of the viewer. Google search is really bad compared to ten years ago, when you actually could find content from all directions, also from small blogs or websites. Nowadays you even get sometimes bad search results when you put it in quotion mark.... sucks and feels like a cleaned up Internet. Duckduckgo.com, Yandex.com, yippy.com or dogpile.com....just some examples which are a good alternative for google search.

Indeed. And the culture is about something else, than just some random inventions. It seems weird to me that they're talking so much about diversity and then it appears, they are in fact after some kind of indistinguishable uniformity? Perhaps a paradox of ideology, that sees differences as a source of conflicts, therefore tries to level and eradicate diversity of the world by lying to the people, they are all the same, not different from others. In the result depriving the humanity of what makes it so beautiful. A peace by making people blind to differences between them. Thing is, it's an artificial mental construct that is futile (hopefully, for the sake of us all) and objectively - a false. Every nation has responsibility to respect, cherish, preserve and enrich own uniqueness, take care, of what is good, purify from what is wrong, not only for themselves, but as a gift for all other nations, to keep world as a multi-faceted jewel for all. Which doesn't mean closing in stagnation, a nation is formed in dynamic process and its own, internal dynamism is part of its culture making it alive, developing. Also nothing wrong in interacting between them, each does that naturally. In its own, unique way, not melting into some kind of impoverished, homogeneous pulp. A gift should be given nevertheless. 1

Now, it may be not the perfect explanation (I'd wager that economical reasons for integration were as much important as political ones, if not more), but it perfectly captures the state of mind of many early integration advocates. For what it's worth: as a pacifist at heart, I'm all for worldwide cooperation against the war. But it's evident that integration as seen in Europe - based on first creating common economic sphere, and then trying to find common ideology - quickly turns into a new kind of liberal fascism, where everyone who doesn't want to fit in the ideological mold (created by elites detached from the masses) falls a victim of legal economic terror. With traditional (economy-focused) left being dead in 21st century, and right moving further into liberal ideology, the only political group who stands against this new world order are radical nationalists. Once a fringe/marginal group, but today going into mainstream thanks to votes of millions who are dissatisfied with Europe ran by few elites. It's almost like 1930s Europe again, but this time people are voting for nationalists to fight the totalitarian state, not to establish it.
oxmox 73 Posted March 9, 2020 We are living in crazy times currently....... Quote Coronavirus: Italian PM extends lockdown to entire country Under the new decree, people will only be able to travel between cities for emergency reasons and can face fines and up to three months in jail for breaking quarantine rules. The country is struggling to contain Europe’s worst outbreak of Covid-19, which has claimed 463 lives and infected 9,172 people – and late on Monday announced its most drastic measures so far to deal with the crisis. “The figures show we are experiencing a serious increase in infections, an increase in people hospitalized in intensive care – and an increase, unfortunately, in deaths. We need to change our lifestyle. We need to change it now. That’s why I have decided to adopt these hard measures,” said Conte. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/09/coronavirus-italy-prime-minister-country-lockdown

As far as I know it's all about the moral barriers rather than scientific or technical ones. Just like with the human cloning. Coding a genome is some kind of eugenics, not a welcomed thing nowdays. krycek 349 Posted March 11, 2020 People should remember that the retards/braindead morons in charge in most european countries told everyone at the end of January not to worry and they wouldn't even consider reducing flights or the "right to travel everywhere". Make no mistake, this isn't about spreading panic but sheer incompetence, downplaying everything together with most media even when China put Wuhan in quarantine. Hell, in my country two or three weeks ago I had to search for news regarding this virus because no one thought it deserves attention anymore on their first page. I'm not worried about Covid-19 although I regret that people lost their lives due to these incompetent fools not to mention the economic problems this will bring, what I do worry though is that it will come (not if) a time when we'll have to deal with something a lot more deadlier than this and it will be the same then. Also the irony that most corporations to save a penny they moved all their production in China decades ago, gee I wonder how those saved pennies work for them now. Janez 530 Posted March 14, 2020 Some important points to consider, such as recent history. Medical Martial Law - https://www.corbettreport.com/episode-086-medical-martial-law/ Is Coronavirus the Next 9/11? - https://www.corbettreport.com/interview-1523-is-coronavirus-the-next-9-11-discussion-on-the-ochelli-effect/ Basic hygiene practices never hurt though, regardless of if there something going on or not. You know, always properly wash your hands with soap. Use a glove or a plastic bag when shopping for food. Don't cough all over that food. Don't squeeze every piece of fruit, you have eyes. Wash fruits and vegetables with vinegar. Take care of what you put in your mouth. That sort of thing, rather then showering every day, five times a day for every drop of sweat you produce. .kju 3244 Posted March 17, 2020 Quote The German government has therefore restricted the export of breathing masks and other protective equipment. Initially, at the beginning of March, Germany had issued an export ban with a few exceptions in order to secure protective clothing for German requirements. This had met with fierce criticism in the EU. Now the following applies: the export of items such as protective goggles, respirators, protective suits or gloves is possible with the approval of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control. and before that: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-germany-ventilator/germany-discussing-its-medical-export-restrictions-with-eu-partners-idUSKBN2101IU Plus today is an EU summit to coordinate that. oxmox 73 Posted March 18, 2020 Quote Corona carries off the old. That is only fair A satire piece for German state television (web youth channel) celebrates the spread of coronavirus because it is killing people in developed nations who are responsible for climate change. “It carries off the old, but the young people survive this infection almost effortlessly. That’s simply justice, because for the last 50 years the generation 65+ has driven the planet into a wall” The piece also lauds the collapse of global air traffic and the reduction of air pollution in China, claiming this will lead to a “green paradise” and that there are “too many of us” anyway. “So the coronavirus is probably just a beautiful and sensible reflex of nature that shows humans who is actually in charge,” states the presenter before adding, “Corona is here, because we don’t deserve better.” (with english subs) more about it: Die Welt (google transl.)

oxmox 73 Posted October 6, 2020 European Activists and Refugee Rescue Boat Operations in the Mediterranean [The Guardian] Quote The 10 crew members of the Louise Michel have diverse backgrounds, but they all identify as anti-racist and anti-fascist activists advocating for radical political change. As it is a feminist project, only female crew members are allowed to speak in the name of the Louise Michel. The crew, made up of European activists with long experience in search and rescue operations, had already assisted in two other rescue operations involving a total of 105 people, who are now onboard the NGO vessel Sea-Watch 4. The vessel, named Louise Michel after a French feminist anarchist.... Pia Klemp, the former captain of several NGO boats that have rescued thousands of people over recent years. oxmox 73 Posted January 5, 2021 reminds on France and Spain............... Covid-19 Germany Merkel pushes for tighter movement restrictions in German Covid-19 hotspots [5 Jan 2021] Quote The government and states have agreed to restrict travel for residents in Covid-19 hotspots to a 15 km radius, according to DPA. When a district hits an average of 200 coronavirus infections per 100,000 residents in seven days, those living there will only be allowed to travel a maximum of 15 km from their home, according to the draft agreement. Chancellor Merkel had been pushing for this order to come into force in regions with an incidence rate of 100 infections per 100,000 people in seven days. If Merkel got her way, this rule would then apply to most of the country, effectively bringing regional travel to a complete standstill. According to the draft decision paper, more than 70 districts in Germany have an incidence of over 200, just 99 districts or cities have an incidence of less than 100. In total, there are 294 districts and 107 independent cities in Germany. https://www.thelocal.de/20210105/merkel-pushes-for-tighter-movement-restrictions-in-german-covid-19-hotspots
