DXDLL 1.0 (not Geforce MX compatible)

I hate to bring this thread back... but I've got a question... I have seen a few screenshots, with reflective water, with a nice light-blue color.

Example Here

Does anyone have a link for that water... it seems as if some custom water mods will not work with DXDLL, so I was wondering which water was used.

Yeh anything with white skys, white water, bright blue sky, white accents on faces, bright greens and the bright pink hue etc etc is photoshopped.

Basically if it don't look like what you get in game it's photoshopped

Erm... I'm having small problems with DxDll and Geforce FX5600 Anti-aliasing... The movies, nor the "end screens" (comes after dead) don't show up well... If they show...

E.g. at the startup screen of FDF mod, the Finnish flag and the fighter don't show up well... If at all...

DXDLL is not compatible with AA, set AA to off or auto, otherwise you'll experience lag and/or crashes.

How can I remove the DXDLL folder and effects from my system?

It's messed up my framerate but when I delete the DXDLL folder OpF won't load, it says missing file or whatever. Even when I turn everything off in the configurator my FPS is still messed up.

Try App+P, it should turn postprosessing off... Gives me 5-10 fps, sometimes more or less, more... Dunno about night shader effect, but water reflections are still on so you need to turn them off separately...

You're missing the key element of DxDll here, it's not the folder you have to remove from ofp directory but "d3d8.dll" (or rename it something like "d3d8.dl_"

the folder can remain in ofp's root, this shouldnt cause any harm.

Question: What settings do you recommend to use with DxDll? I mean DxDll settings themselves. Like glare etc.

this depends on your own preference, just press command-H ingame (commandkey=between the right windows key and the right Strg key), to get a list of all key commands and manipulate the settings to your liking, afterwards set these values as your defaults in the Configurator.exe, some of them depend on your system, so there is no universal setting wink_o.gif

uhh...does DXDLL run on a Geforce 6200? (256 mb)

as far as i know there were most problems with Geforce MX cards, but better wait for kegety or another one, not that i tell you something wrong

It will work with your card. If not, I would bet it`s a driver related problem. And drivers can be changed.

I recall keg using GT6xxx-series adapter nowadays so I reckon it should work.. wink_o.gif

i have a GeForce FX 5500 oc 256 mb card it works great but can't use in my mod folder heres some pictures of my Chattanooga Campaign Island

Hey, u know, i have this crazy problem, it seems that my grafic card XFX 6600 PCI-E (500/1000 Default) doesnt like reflections.

Drivers tested with same problem (71.84; 71.90; 76.50 (modded))

My System:

AMD64 3500

A8N SLI DELUXE (24 pin molex)

PATRIOT DDR400 PC3200 512x2

LEVICOM X-Alien 500w (20 pin connector)

XFX 6600GT PCI-E

I tested in Tonal, Kolgujev, Nogova if the object to be reflect passes 50-100 the framerate drops to 2-9fps.

If reflections are of i get around 30 fps (wich is low in tonal, should get more). It doesnt mather the place when i turn reflection the "****" happens.

All this tests were made with same config of ofp, dxdll and driver settings with a friend runnig on a p4 3.0, in a 5800 video card. With same settings he gets 25 fps in tonal in the same spot i was (tatu city).

Without even looking at the water just looking to the interior, the fps is barely the same, and the ofp menu is slow , mouse slow, etc.

If i turn reflections off increases 40 fps more or 60 fps more but it looks its pretty unstable since when i look left or forward fps sometiems drop like 20 or more.

Also turning postprocessing on and off doesnt affect my fps (strange thing but its a sign that the card is working well, i think)

After many tests and drivers, i thought that it could be of the power suply. The motherboard is 24 pin and the psu is 500w 20 pin, and has good amperages(and a friend of myne says his also using only a 20 pin connecter in the 24 molex, and its working ok with his games). So runned aquamark3d and other benchs and it runs like if it was normal. i get the benches that a system like myne should get.

another info: im running in a 5400rpm 10gigs harddrive (backup, main dont alow me to format it :S) 1 gig empty space.

So if anyone knows whats going on please post :P

And what drivers u using.

Formating pc also passed trough my mind.

Because im not sure but i think i´ve tried reflections with cd drivers (64.xx) and they where working ok, but im not sure i think i have this in my idea lol.

First i will listen what u guys have to tell me (if u have tounge_o.gif )

was you using tonal island if so i have problems with that island without DXDLL installed it was too much for my computer

Occasionally this happens to me too, but only in certain situations. It's mainly when I'm looking up in the air that the GUI unhides though it should be hidden, move the cam around a bit and it will be gone again. I don't know why this occurs, but you can live with it I guess.

im my system that feature works just fine, maybe the drivers configurations or the driver itselfe are causing that ;)

66.93 and 66.97 fixed the problem, is now stable no fps drop.

Still i find reflections heavy since my average rate in nogova is 30 fps or less :S (600 reflected objects) and when i turn left or right fps will change, but not has it was with the other drivers.

another bug is that in 66.97 (didnt test 66.93) the antialising turned on will make ofp menu background video have black textures all over the ground. Howerver in game no problem, just the menu that looks freaky. :S

anyways if u have a 6600GT and use other drivers please let me know ;)
