somebloke 0 Posted May 26, 2004 Just clarify the confusion of the 2 hunters, the original was a beta version made by, i think it was crippler or someone, but not footmunch. This version is of course made by footmunch.
Footmunch 0 Posted May 26, 2004 Dredging the bottom of my memory barrel, I seem to remember the Hunter addon was by nolips (with some texturing by Crippler). I did help him a bit behind the scenes with some advice about O2. I'm not sure what happened to him. Work on re-arming the A-6 and F-15E continues. I'll probably finalise the F-15C and Su-27 by the end of this week. An 'international' Hunter will follow, then a properly marked RAF Hunter. Then it's RAF full bore, with a v1.1 Buccaneer, the Lightning, and an RAF Phantom. I may get round to a better Jag also, and the Vulcan is lurking in the background, as per usual. Supah 0 Posted May 26, 2004 RAF Phantom Could you also have a look at the top of the engine nacelles of the phantom? They are far to flat ATM. If you need some skins done for the phantom's (british also) let me know i have some stuff that might interest you. Have a look at my site

bucket man 2 Posted May 26, 2004 Footmuch I have one wish today. Could you please include a roundel for PLAAF(Peoples Liberation Army Airforce) in your roundel pack? You have made few aircrafts that were or are in service in PLAAF such as Su-27, MiG-21 and Mig-17. Its pretty easy to find such roundel in web. Try Google first. Thats where I found a good picture of that roundel.
somebloke 0 Posted May 27, 2004 It appears that i may be going on a missiong to make those engine sounds for the aircraft.
Footmunch 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Bucket - Thanks for reminding me. Â I've been meaning to add a Chinese roundel for a long time, but kept on forgetting. I'll include it, along with some other adjustments/additions, and post a new roundels.pbo tomorrow.
bucket man 2 Posted May 27, 2004 Thanks Footmunch! Im really waiting for this and ofcourse the international Hawker Hunter,

Wondering why you might have problems with this... I've recorded .wav files from tapes and other sources. Â All I did was I used a stereo cable from the output of my VCR, tape deck, or DVD/CD player into the input jack of my PC's soundcard. Â I then set up my input levels and recorded the .wav file. Â I used trial and error to get the sound levels right. Â Could this work for you? mganik

Bobcatt666 0 Posted May 30, 2004 Was wondering if you were considering adding the canard wings to the Flanker to make a second model out of it, and tweak its turning and banking raidous get more bang for the buck out of your model? Seeing its the same basic primary aircraft chassis. The Su-27 is rather nice looking and even a noob like me can fly it. Have fun doing most of the known manunvers a Flanker is capable of.. I experiance a mild amount of lag on the big maps like Tonal, WGL custom map, and mildly on Nagova when using this bird solo. But seems every flanker or Mig after the first two ones made tend to require a rather beefy system.
somebloke 0 Posted May 30, 2004 Yeah, i think it's because most of the new aircraft incorporate higher resolution textures due to the resistance engine.
BlueFlight 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Footmunch, I have some suggestions for your planes perhaps you consider some points? First off, all your planes are really great and there isn´t much improving space apart from perhaps some more realism. - What I would really like are turning wheels. It always looks so strange if you taxi and you see from the outside view that the wheels do not turn. But I don´t know how hard it is to implement. Bratty,Trenchfeet & co. have this I´m sure you know them well. - It looks also very cool when the cockpit canopy is openable or opened at start with engines off. I think you told that you removed this because of problems in Multiplayer? I think majority plays ofp in singeplayer so it would be great to have this feature back. - Same thing with engine nozzles. I think it´s the same problem as above. - Perhaps you could implement some explosion scripts? If a plane is hit and destroyed it looks very good if it has good burning effects. That´s it. Don´t take it as critism
Footmunch 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Have I got a reputation as a bear with criticism? If so, it's not true. Rotating wheels are nice, and Bratty and TF's work on them is very good: however, I've always considered it a 'visual' effect. It's actually quite complex to get the wheels turning (it has to do with swapping in and out 'hidden' parts of the model), and for such a small return, which has no impact on gameplay, I often don't consider it. I may see how it looks on the Hunter, and see how long it takes to add. The canopy problems in MP were quite odd, in that it wasn't clear _why_ it was happening. I may try a few different scripts to see if the problems can be overcome. Engine nozzles are even more complicated than rotating wheels. Beleive me, the coding to acheive the effect is quite large, and when you factor in the 'afterburner' switches, it's even more complex. I'm not ruling it out, but it's usually an afterthought, when the rest of the model is ready. Explosion scripts are being considered, as well as 'damage' textures and system failures. One slight 'glitch' is that these effects have to interact with the ECP effects (and the GMR stuff, etc). Thanks for the input. Really, I'm so familiar with the addons that 'a fresh set of eyes' are _always_ welcome. Bobcatt - You know, I think the 'lag' with these planes _may_ be more to do with the graphics engine having to load the terrain relatively quickly, compared to the speeds associated with men or tanks. Certainly, having many of the planes on a 'simple' map (like Desert Island) doesn't seem to produce the same amount of stutter. BTW - Quick update. F-15C ready, F-15E not. A-6 close. Hunter close. Su-27 _very_ close, but _not_ tomorrow.
BlueFlight 0 Posted June 3, 2004 That are great news footmunch  BTW - The F-15C: Would it be possible to mount 4 sidewinders instead of 4 sparrows under the wings? Cause I think most aerial combat is in sight.
da_ofp_man 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Su-27 _very_ close, but _not_ tomorrow. Cool will that release have the the a-2-g variant
somebloke 0 Posted June 3, 2004 What botu the lightning
Footmunch 0 Posted June 4, 2004 The Lightning's giving me a headache at the moment - the gear animation will have to be either badly wrong, or quite complicated. It's holding things up, but it is happening, I promise. Adding AIM-9's to the 15C is the last job on the list for the Eagle. The A2G Su-27 will not be in the initial release. Sorry.
