Unsung - updates

Dont worry abou that. We will have open spaces too. Like LZs and firebases not just jungle. Just leave it in our MODs most capable hands. We will not fall short of expectations, everything featured in the period we have chosen will be present. Just keep alert and we'll keep you posted about all the things going on.

Looking good guys,I am turning into a fan of your mod.

Just a few questions:

-Do you plan to create more ground vegetation(bushes etc.), looks a little bit deserted right now?

-How about updating your site with a progress bar so we know all the units that you plan to create and how far along are you with them

-Am I right to say that the next releases are first the sky pack and after the island?Or are you planning a FDF style entire mod release?

-What are the specs of your computer or beta testers.More exactly how much does the island lags compared to Nogova/Tonal.

Looking really, really great guys,

On the issue of the ground vegetation, I would tend to make a concession to gameplay and not clutter the jungle floor so much that the AI can't move around. The current shots look about perfect to me as the canopy is solid but the ground itself is relatively clear. After all, if the canopy blocks out most of the light IRL there ain't gonna be much growing underneath.

Ive also had some beta tests and I wont say anything in specific, but from what Ive seen you all are going to cry in joy  smile_o.gif

The Unsung MOD is in desperate need of experts in the following fields only

ADDON MAKING + HISTORIANS

Addon makers:- As a compulsary measure must have samples of THEIR own work so as we can guage experience as well as capabilities. Basically like a (C.V. except for OFP)

Historians:- Please no 14 year old people with a basic knowledge of the war. We are looking for people who are capable of giving accurate details in regards to the vietnam conflict. In terms of strategies used, applications of logistcs, air support, artillery bombardments etc. They will also be required to perform other activities for the MOD.

looking good? you're nuts! Those look AWESOME! The sanbags with shovel; very nice detail. really looks like a vietnam base to me!

But I'm not so sure on the soldiers.

-The helmet texture is too dark.

-they don't wear the bulletproof-vest. Or it much be the lighter texture; in which case I strongly suggest you model the vest onto the model (and not just texture it) and us a bit darker textures for it (the nylon won't fade as much as you did).

-the 'fabric'-effect on the clothing is over-kill. The utility-uniorm is 100% cotton and is very smooth. In your textures it looks like a very raw fabric. Even worn-out it doesn't look like that. The textures used by Edge on his Res-guys are very good and he just used shadows. Add a bit off red dirt to those and the textures will be just fine. The trick is not to over-do it.

Don't get me wrong, though; I just amed everything I think is incorrect and jsut listed them. It may sound as if I think there shit, which is absolutely not the case (!). And I must say I commented on WIP, which does not represent the current soldiers. And of course the compression of pictures never make it look beter than when you can see them ingame. So don't take it all too heavy wink_o.gif

Its a peaty I can't hellp you in any way to speed up process sad_o.gif But by giving you my suport I think I hellp in some way. biggrin_o.gif

Looks much better already (from the previous pictures which were also linked above).

The clothing looks better. Althoug I can't see any brown in the helmet cover. But that's a minor detail. Awesome work.
