@cero 0 Posted August 29, 2004 Have you runned the installer in the OFP folder? if so, then what you get its a mod folder for the sky pack, all you got to do now its one of two things. 1: go to your shortcut for the Y2K3 mod and on the target line aat the end add the name of the mod folder for the sky pack with a ";" in between names, like this Quote[/b] ]"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE" -nosplash -nomap -mod=res;Y2K3; Hisky Hisky would be the name of the sky mod folder, but if you call it something ellse just change "Hisky" to whatever you call it. 2: all the files you got in the sky mod folder, just move them to the Y2K3 mod folder, make sure you don't overwrite anything. I searched around the site for some clues, but I'm unable to find anything. The game will not start, so I assume its directly related to this missing bis_resistance piece. I must say that Pappy Boyington Is a complete GENIUS! I read in another reply from him that he is only 18, thats amazing. @Pappy- Hey man, what kind of work are you into? If yiou don't mind me asking. Are you going to school for computer programming? Or do you just like stuf like this for a hobby? I could imagine that people over at Bohemia or Codemaster could use a guy like you on their payroll. Anyway great work one improving a really fun game!!!! Â actualy im 19 (07-25-1985 is my birthday), and next october i'll be attending Pittsburgh Technical Institute to be a computer technian. i just do this stuff for fun. web-design, graphic-design, game reconfiguration, the usual fun stuff currently im a full-time lazy ass and part time gamer on the Y2K3 site, theres a link "important information" that has instructions for installing the mod, and for installing the sky. jsemcesku 0 Posted August 29, 2004 that solved that problem... the next 2 problems I figured out on my own (yay). But now I get a missing opfp1logo.paa (somethinglike that) and the game crashes to desktop. (set aside the @ECP and Y2K3 mod folders (also llumax if your using it).) then put the mods back in. after the install is done. if your using the new pistol animations from O.pbo by dream knight just redownload that and reinstall it. thats the only thingi could think to suggest Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

However, for some reason when I printed mine out it came 5 milimetres too big all around extrange, because I give it the right size in Photoshop. @ Rysumm2004, I'm glad you got it running fine now, save me the explaining lol, its sunday in here, and I'm in a lazy mood. Rysumm2004 0 Posted August 29, 2004 I still can't get this sky mod to work. If it is working I can't tell a difference. I ran the install.exe and it just puts two folders on my desktop. One is a bin fodler and one is a newdata folder. I created a folder called Sky. I placed these addons in the Sky folder and ran the other install.exe that comes with this. I have the Sky fodler in my OFP y2k3 directory. I updated the shortcut folder with ;sky at the end. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

(expolsions, sound, blood etc....) sorta. explosions, sounds, effects, are all per-unit controled. now most of the time units dont have thier own eventhandlers and therefore the effects will be carried over. explosions are always carried over. unless it has its own explosion defined. but i would suggest that you place any new addons downloaded in your Res\Addons or Addons folder. leave Y2K3 for Y2K3 required addons only. this makes it convientant and easier for you. especialy if your like me and later on down the raod ur cleanng up your addons folders trying to make room for newer better ones and u cant remember where u downloaded the one uber leet shed-nator. then your goin thru your Y2K3 folder goin "wtf is this?, delete" and then later u find out u needed it and now u have to download the mod again so i suggest u leave Y2K3\Addons folder for Y2K3 addons only Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ebns72 0 Posted September 1, 2004 Recently I was cleaning my hardrive and deleted the full ecp mod (i had it to make Y2K3 work right, it is now not needed due to the extra file installer). When I played y2k3 again, it started whining about no entry in scripts/ecp settings (or something like that) no problem was probably the way i configured my target (i.e. -mod=Y2K3; mod=@ECP2) "@ECP2" is the files given by the extra file installer, it was renamed so it didn't conflict with the original "@ECP". So I renamed it, removing the "2" at the end. I changed the order the mods were in, placing ECP first and Y2K3 second. When I started it up, i got the error No entry 'config.bin.CfgAddons I remember I had this problem once before, but I forget how to fix it... I double checked the spelling of everything, and even reversed the order they were in to try in make it work correclty with no luck. I don't want to reinstall, because I have heavily modifeid your Y2K3 mod with custom data, and edited configs, plus ALOT of addons in the Y2K4 addons folder. Btw, I also tried -nomap and -nosplah, no luck. EDIT: hehe its kinda funny. I played the game and everything is screwed up. I made a soldier, it was a default bis soldier with the binocs anim, no weapon, whne I fired my invisible m16 it fired straight into the ground, like a bullethole suddenly appeared near my feet. If you make a jeep theres a BIS solider riding it like a surfboard (its really just the binoc anim, but it looks like hes riding a surboard) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted September 1, 2004 sounds like u have a config in cpp formate and not big by the way you do NOT need to run the @ECP mod folder in your target line. the folder needs to be tehre but not read by OFP. ECP finds the path automaticly. check your @ECP and Y2K3 folders for a config.cpp. if there is a config.cpp then OFP reads that and it fucks everything over Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I know it is not the configuration, and I allso know that I recently installed a few new addons, and it only happan with them, but after I removed the addons from the OFP directory I still had the problem, so I thought it may change something in the savings or somewhere in the OFP files, so I opted to do a clear install. At the moment I seem to had got read of it, but I still have to reinstall the Y2K3 mod. I got to go to work in a minute, afternoons today, so I'll do it later or tomorrow. Being a 56ker I don't download much these days as I also have limited net access, but thanks to K..... in the UK I have been able to enjoy the Y2K3 Upgrade, and WOW!. This is great. Pappy, you have done a wonderful job here. Sounds, sights.. and more. this has truely taken OFP further than what I could ever have imagined. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted September 3, 2004 Hi, I'm Greg and im a mid-range PC user thats right my 256 ram is holding me back some. and out of curousity i tried OFP with Y2K3 off. played "combined arms" mission on everon. i got between 10 and 22 fps (with dxdll reflections off) mid range was in the teens (13 - 15) goin back over a custom config for Y2K3 for myself i removed all the ECP init eventhandlers. rerouted some others like the exploding body is read via hit event handler rather then init. init eventhandlers cause the most lag. cuz everyone is running them over and over agian til something happens. the other EH stay dormont until called upon (ie: hit = until u get shot, and only when your shot) so i removed the ECP effects init eventhandler from the helos, vehicls, tanks, units, ect ect ect. went back and played combined arms. i got between 7 and 20 fps, usualy around in the 10 - 15 area. which to u guys sounds pathetic. but to me sounds amazing. but wait, theres more. in removing the ECP event handlers form config handeld vehicals (excluding the AH64, SU25, and A10 LGB, and a few others) i loost the uber cool "warning low altitude" thingy from ECP, the "dudeman join player" option, and a few other unnoticable changes. the good news is, we stil have the blood (handeled via hit eh), we still have the exploding bodies (handeld by the hit eh), we still have the buzzing flys over dead bodies (handeld by the killed eh), and the AT backblast (handeld by the fired eh). none of these effects cause noticable lag and can stay in. so for those of you that are mid range, and perhaps it might work on low range PC's i suggest this config option. Y2K3 6.0 Performance Enhancer testing on a 1.5 Ghz P4, 128meg GeForce FX 5200, 256 Ram. i get the same frame rate with Y2K3 as without. using this config here. loosing only a handful of effects that wont be missed too much. PS: this config is utilized off the Pilot & Raft path, ensure you have that, and only comes in exploding body version. please, mid and low range users post your feed back on it. if its halfway decent for yall ill post it on teh downloads page Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
