Us presidential election 2004

Recommended Posts

Why do they military folks keep voting Bush? Thats beyond me now , they like getting themselves shoved in to useless wars and get killed? Is it the US army or the AQ army were talkin about here anyway  tounge_o.gif  crazy_o.gif

They vote for Bush because as my friends in the Army, Navy and Marines tell me, the only media source they have for information is Fox News, and only specific programs.  For Radio, they only get Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.  The Pro-Bush propaganda machine is in full effect for our servicemen and women.

Despite this, I heard a sizable percentage of the enlisted personnel population is Pro-Kerry.

military polls show that actually around 46% of military personal support Bush vs 44% Kerry. (this includes also former military members).

However it is clearly visible that military-friendly media are mostly favouring Bush. And they proclaim that the troops support TBA 4 to 1 (unscientific survey). I dont know what to believe.

Yeah i know what your talking about , i went to Khobar and Dhahran this summer on the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia they have this American warship standing nearby in the Persian Gulf , it also apparently runs this radio shows 24/7 which are all US NAVY sponsored they are aimed for american listenersi guess , through out my stay i listened to it in the car and all i could hear was anti-kerry and democrat crap crazy_o.gif

Then these same people come and talk about independent journalism and freedom crap , FOX is no better then some of the state sponsored channels running here who can never find anything wrong at all with the present govt rock.gif , could you imagine that? No criticism whatsoever only good news beamed to you.

P.S: I thought with Kerry being a former army guy with numerous accolades to his name would be much more popular with the army it seems otherwise though ... but then i guess wherever theres a red neck ignorant there'll be a republican/Bush supporter.

Hi all

What is this I hear about the Democrats thinking that as well as Michigan and West Virgina, now Virginia it self is up for grabs.

If your a Kerry Voter in Virginia get out and vote.

[edit]Just checked Kerry is less than 3% behind in Virginia, Democrats have started putting money in there.[/edit]

I wonder which other supposedly Safe GOP seats are starting to sway?

Aparently the cause of the Gop weakness is this guy Kilgore who aparently dissed Bush's own voters as being unsophisticated.

Kind Regards Walker

Bush is currently ahead 6% in Virginia. Bush currently has a 3% lead in West Virginia, but it's worth 5 EVs compared to Virginia's 13 EVs.

He is a traitor. I belong to many Vietnam Vet yahoo groups and trust me I think that the 4 to 1 military servicemember ratio is very likely.

You must also recognize that many military guys either start out as:

A - No lifers who, to achieve anything in their life, must get a fresh start. They go to the military. They love the military. The prosper in the military. The military = Republicans. That means that they are more than likely going to be a republican in the end.

B - People from southern states, such as Alabama and Texas, who highly support Republicans already.

By the way, I'd have to say that your theory about only FOX News being shown to soldiers is complete BS. Not only could they deny watching it, most of them already have their political makeup decided before they go to war. When they get back stateside they can see whatever channel they want. (no offense/flamebaiting intended... RALPH...)

Yeah, many military types are really pissed at the way Kerry acted during 'Nam. Whether you agree with that war or not, what he did was wrong.

And if you're a current soldier, how would you feel having a man, who when in the Navy sold out his fellow servicemen for political gain, as your leader. I'd be asking, is he going to cut and run on me too?

Also, many soldiers, as well as civilian Americans, want payback for 9/11. Kerry isn't going to deliver. Bush will. Its that simple. It also doesn't help that Osama just endorsed Kerry on Al Jeezera.

Apparently the military went through some financial hard times during the Clinton era and servicemen (and women) are untrusting of the democratic party because of it.

Quote[/b] ]He is a traitor

I'd love to hear your elaboration on this one.

Quote[/b] ]Yeah, many military types are really pissed at the way Kerry acted during 'Nam.

People are idiots. They aren't mad about the way he acted in Vietnam, they are mad at the way he acted AFTER Vietnam. And if any with two brain cells to collide together even bothers looking up their complaints, its all BS anyway, like the alleged accusations of atrocities that supposedly Kerry said he witness, when in fact if you read the official transcript of his testimony he CLEARLY says he has heard stories from other vets about such activities. He never ONCE says that he personally witnessed such activities. It is the soldiers he mentions that the vets should be pissed at.

Also I might add, if anyone actually read the rest of his statement, he brings up and points out policies and facts about the Vietnam War we all know to be fact now.

Quote[/b] ]And if you're a current soldier, how would you feel having a man, who when in the Navy sold out his fellow servicemen for political gain, as your leader. I'd be asking, is he going to cut and run on me too?

Riiiiiight.

Much better to have a fucking draft dodger that was busy snortin' coke and gettin' his teeth fixed. Least Kerry actually fought. Least Kerry spoke from personal experience. Yeah that is suck a bad thing. rock.gif

Quote[/b] ]Also, many soldiers, as well as civilian Americans, want payback for 9/11. Kerry isn't going to deliver. Bush will. Its that simple.

That is the most assine ignorant thing I have ever heard.

Well we've killed 100,000 civilians in Iraq alone, to our 2100. Is that enough fucking payback for you?

Quote[/b] ] It also doesn't help that Osama just endorsed Kerry on Al Jeezera.

I see you got your translation from Fox News. Good to know.

If you cared to actually (I know this is tough) read and think about waht Osama said, he said (and I QUOTE) "Your security is not in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands" meaning US foreign policy against Muslim nations, something that has been talked about here already. He directly addresses the US people, and even says "To the American people, my talk to you is about the best way to avoid another Manhattan. I tell you: Security is an important element of human life and, free people do not give up their security." He also throws in a zinger at Bush stating he had no idea that Bush would be so slow to react, and because of that the attacks were more successful than he imagined.

Bush and his policies have made America unsafe. Not Kerry.

Quote[/b] ]Apparently the military went through some financial hard times during the Clinton era and servicemen (and women) are untrusting of the democratic party because of it.

The Clinton base closures and military spending cuts were started by (irony of ironies) the Bush Sr. administration, and endorsed and PUSHED FOR by good ol' Dick Cheney.

A fact that the Republophiles like to convientently forget.

Every one of your post reads like a fussy, frustrated, little brat. Your always like, "F' this F' that... christ' christ christ' you mother f'n dip spit right wing fascist F'tards!", good grief.

I got a warning level for politely letting some one know he came across a bit arogant. You on the other hand unleash spit and venom on any one who disagrees with you in the least bit and your bullet proof.

lol

I haven't flamed anyone (except blackdog in the other thread...who blatantly flamebaited...like he did to Ralph a few posts above), but I have been warned before so I'm not exactly sure why you are putting your persecution complex on me.

And indeed it is a little hard to not be frustrated with people that coem blowing into a thread, and throw something out that has been discussed to death on both sides, like they were revealing the Holy Grail or somethin'...

And saying that the majority of Americans want payback for 9/11 and that is why to vote for Bush, is indeed one of the most assinine things I've heard. If you have a problem with that....tough titties.

So as soon as you have something to contribute to the thread....lemme know....I'll be happy to get back to ya... wink_o.gif

Thank God this thread is done with in 4 days one way or the other...

EDIT: What exactly is a "spat filled word" anyway? I assume you don't mean "every mollusk filled word".

What is up with the planes that edwards uses....

http://www.wral.com/news/3875756/detail.html

Quote[/b] ]Small Fire Causes Edwards' Plane To Return To RDU

POSTED: 11:11 pm EDT October 29, 2004

RALEIGH, N.C. -- A camera battery caught part of vice-presidential candidate John Edwards' plane on fire shortly after takeoff at 10 p.m. Friday.

John Edwards was in Raleigh Friday for a campaign rally at Dorton Arena.

The battery, in a still photographer's camera, caught part of a seat on the plane on fire.

The plane then circled around and as a security precaution landed back at RDU International Airport. Crews repaired the problem and the plane took off again around 11:30 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident.

The plane was en route to Marietta, Ohio, after Edwards spent Friday evening in Raleigh at a rally that included a Jon Bon Jovi concert.

The visit to Raleigh was Edwards' last campaign stop in his home state before Tuesday's election.

My favorite part:

Quote[/b] ]"It appeared to him (Bush) that a little girl's talk about her goat and its butting was more important than the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers. That gave us three times the required time to carry out the operations, thank God"

In this case he's right though.

Revenge for 9/11? What does Iraq have to do with 9/11?

They cheered in the streets when the planes hit? rock.gif

They're muslims thus they're good people to get your payback at?

It really is bloody ignorant if you think you're getting payback for 9/11 in Iraq.

Heh even osama is sounding better thought through and the more intelligent man compared to Bush. Bush is still on his Lone ranger trip for some reason. Like the sticker said "Revenge can never heal our grief, end the circle of violence". A lesson a lot of people apparently still have to learn.

To the people complaining about Kerry's stance on the vietnam war, he mentioned attrocities against vietnamese civilians. And you know what? He didn't lie! They did happen. There are very well documented cases of it happening. He did the right thing. Would you have rather had it was swept under the carpet? Ignored and those responsible given a pat on the back and sent on their merry way? That would be the WRONG thing to do. Morally and practically. It might have been the easy thing to do but kerry chose to do the hard thing, which is commendable and something you would want in a president. Not someone who gets distracted from the main objective of capturing Osama and his fellow conspirators by greed and god knows what else and attacks a country that had nothing to do with 911 there by creating a hotbed for the very terrorisme he is supposed to fight. But then again what does he know about fighting? He was too busy doing coke and being a alcoholic and keeping the hell out of serving his country. Who's the traitor here? Oh and belonging to a few internet discussion groups hardly makes one a expert.

Hi all

Latest news from Virginia is that the Republican's are starting to panic in a desperate atempt to get out their voters after George Bush Junior's votes have started to drop. News that an extra 7.7% of new voter registrations and that they were young Democrat voters has GOP party fearfull of a massive swing to Kerry.

If you are a Kerry Voter in Virginia get out and vote for a Democratic victory.
