Unified zombie pack release imminent

I am working on Yomies update - comming soon!

Here is a list of features i have added (i am testing them right now):

1. Yomies can be killed

You can set amount of damage Yomie must take before he dies, AND number of headshots he can sustain - every hit (whether it is headshot, or explosion, or his hands are hit) is measured and added to sustained damage.

So, you can kill Yomie by single explosion (like hit him by LAW), or by single headshot (or 10th headshot - it depends on how high you do set appropriate variable).

I am planning to add some little randomized death animations - depending on how the Yomie was killed (for example if you kill him by headshots, his head will be smashed, he will shake for a while, still trying to move, until suddenly falls to the ground) - all will be scripted, created from more than one randomly played animations, so every death will be different :-)

2. Better attack techniques for Yomies, and defense techniques for their victims

Until now, everything from Yomie's 'targeting' to Yomie 'attack' was scripted - Yomie's attack anim, damage he did, etc.

Now i rewrited config.cpp and added new 'WEAPON' - strokefist - which can be used by AI automatically like others standard weapons (when you equip Player with this weapon, you can strokefist by pressing your fire button, not by some stupid action in lower right corner which you must first choose and then activate).

From now on, the victims AI will react better when they are attacked - because from now on they will know about it (when it was scripted, they did take some damage, but they didn't knew WHO did it to them and therefore how they can protect themselves - now they will know!). So, no more AIs firing at Yomies 100 meters away, while other Yomie is trying to eat this AI's brain!

3. brand new faces for Yomies

...well, this one was really simple - i'd just have to take pictures of me and put them in ;-)

mhm, i made some units attack in close combat with tracys script and i want to use those units in my campaign...

someone knows how to contact him?  rock.gif

try it by email... you do have his addon? (maybe you can found his address inside?)

well, actually, it IS POSSIBLE (almost).

I think i have figured a way which could allow me to remove MOST of the scripts from the mission directory - I'll try to make it reality in the upcoming update.

i didn't asked him for scripts - all of the scripts i am using are completely rewriten by me (except for the drop script, which original i have used for -let's say- inspiration).

But, i have asked him for some of the animations, and face textures - and i contacted him by email.

if anyone wants to get in touch with tracy, send me your email address with specific reason why you want to contact him, and i'll forward it to tracy (i hope all understand - i can't break his privacy by posting his address in any forum)

omg i love these yomies! theres just one problem, most soldiers come back as a medic yomie (and i dont see why you have all soldiers like, grenader, law, machineguner ect. they all look like a normal soldier) you should of added all civilans like in the zombie pack (please add all civilans to next release) and is there any way to have yomies wander around in more then one place? they all go to the yomie_logic (i want yomies to go all over the map,like have yomies in each town but when i do, they all walk away to that gamelogic; thats the only thing that disapoints me) so is there anyway i can get yomies to be at multiple places at the same time and how can i get tracy_t's zombies to act just like your yomies?

Dear all,

Scott (Tracy_t) has released 2 new custom zombies.

They are:

Doctor Tongue (the first zombie you see in Day of the dead)

Zombie Pilot (a pilot who has died)

Both zombies use custom models - Doctor Tongue has no nose! lol

PS: Please don't rip off these addons for Yomies (joke!!!)

Actually, use these addons for the Yomies. The more zombie missions, the better. Just remember to credit Scott ;)

They will be appearing on www.warfaregames.com but I think Tracy will be approaching Murphy to host too. I dunno smile_o.gif

Also, while I'm on the subject, Scott reports that the next version of the unified ZOMBIE MOD will have:

* revised AI. Zombies can follow waypoints etc

* Zombies no longer will be able to destroy APCs, Tanks etc, unless you make it so...

* Zombie Sound FX pack will be integrated

* New sounds

Hi all

Been on the old MSN, and Tracy reports that the zombie chat messages will not be in the next release of the unified zombie mod.

He may release the next pack on March 19th to coincide with the new DAWN OF THE DEAD movie. But I don't know for sure. What I do know is that he's making lots of custom zombies, making textures from the Dawn 2004 trailer and Fangoria magazine!!

Anyway... keep using those zombies (or yomies, whichever mod you prefer) ;-)

Finally, Tracy can be contacted via our group email. Send email to z0mbie.m0d@ntlw@rld.com

replace the 0 and the 2nd @ with with the letter 'o'

Make sure the subject header has ZOMBIE contained in it, or it will be treated as spam (unless you really DO want to sell us viagra or Cable TV lol)

By the way, i tested the yomies on MP and they dont work it just quits out instead, any ideas about fixing it?

Hi,

as the yomie and unified zombie mod are two different products written by 2 different people, would it not be better to have a "Yomies" thread for that particular mod? (as this thread originally was for the unified zombie mod.)

Otherwise, things will get really crazy when the next zombie mod is released smile_o.gif

Any plans on making a "Bub" zombie from the Day of the Dead? Maybe even have him use a handgun, that's only after you piss him off by calling him a pile of walking puss. biggrin_o.gif

also zombies should be able to rip you out of civilian cars that arent moving. And if possible they can rip you apart if a crowd eats you. It would also be cool if you could blow them apart if you hit them directly with a rocket or ect. just some ideas

Come on guys, we really wanna see these zombie missions!! There is *no other* game on this planet that has a mission designer that lets you make zombie games with minimal programming. Get writing those missions NOW!!

i have a lot of zombie missions on my HD, but most of them are for personal use tounge_o.gif

and some other ones... i used the G8 italian police with sitcks addon in them, slighty modded by me so they can slap the zombies (with the zombie script again a bit modded by me tounge_o.gif )

but i still need permissionfrom tracy (already got it from g8)

so if u ask tracy for this G8 addon thingy, ill release some missions tounge_o.gif

There's no problem with releasing the missions. Scott wants to see as many missions as he can.

He is working on some of his own but is spending more time on the zombies. We want to release a new unified zombie mod for the 19th (Or maybe the 20th, who knows?) when Dawn of the Dead 2004 comes out! Bit of a tight deadline perhaps...
