Nogovan Armed Forces Project

Hmm wouldn't an old (maybe soviet style) steel helmet fit better to reservists?

The model may be changed, whats important now is the camouflage pattern wink_o.gif

Oh I see. ;)

It looks nice although I don't like the idea of nogovan forces being western looking ;) But I guess it has already been decided. Nvertheless I'm looking forward to it. Espeacially to the planes.

All modern states currently switch to kevlar. It's not like they are vary costly. I have not yet seen an armed force that uses separate helmets for regular troops and reserves.

Nogova is small but not some third world country. The budget is thight, but that doesn't mean they should have lousy personal equipment.

Nogova has a very good reason to spend money on security, seeing its recent history smile_o.gif

That camo is completely brand new as in just made up?

EDIT: I think it might be the goggles that's making it look more modern/western.

Depends. I didn't follow the discussion closely so I don't know if Nogova has a militia system (national service) or not. But many countries with national service ususally don't exchange the equippment of their soldiers after they completed recruitment.

I see it here in Switzerland. The older people that were in the army before 1990 still have the old Stgw 57 Assault rife and the old uniforms and stuff. And swtzerland doesn't equip normal soldiers with kevlar helemts. Only some special forces use them. It's not that they are more expensive than steel ones. But the problem is that if they would exchange all helemts they had to exchange like 3 million helmets and that's an unneeded expense.

Dont forget that nogova's army is going to be allot smaller then that.

Maybe I should read the government thread but I can't see where Nogova want's to get money from so I think it will also have fewer money available. Well it was just a proposal. I'll takewhat I get but I often see Reservists from different countries using outdated equippment. See FDF mod too.

Hi,

The pattern is made up, not based on an existing camouflage type.

Colors look good.

Just curious, how many camo variants are planned?

1 for reserves and 1 for regular defense force or just 1 for all?

EDIT: It's not too west I dont think, if anything, these units look a little bit Norwegian.

We have no affiliation with the "nogovan goverment". We may adopt things they come up with but in the end of the day there is no link.

Oke nogova has got an Air and a Land Division but what about the Naval, why not some kind of marines and a litlle attack boat and a Ship to transport the Soldiers to Other Countries or Malden en Everon

let say the LSD is to big so a little version of the LSD would do great and then somekind of Marines mayby KNMARS could help and also you can retexture the little russian boat from BIS biggrin_o.gif

What I would like to see for maritime patrol boats is the Mirage (or Miraj?) patrol boat retextured and re-configged. Maybe a bit of model editing too. And the good old BIS Mk.2 PBR with a GPMG mounted on the stern opposed to having dual M2 HB's.

From their forum...

Quote[/b] ]Naval Component:

While the details of what we're going to have are still being worked out, I'll post here a preliminary idea of a Naval component for the Nogovan military.

Naval Forces of the Republic of Nogova:

Patrol Squadron

3 light patrol boats (torpedo)

I imagine these to be similar to any other torpedo boat out there.

2 light patrol boats (missile)

Basically a torpedo boat with missile boxes/tubes instead of torpedos? SS-N-2C Styx or Penguin?

75 men, 12 NCOs, 8 officers

Fisheries and Customs Enforcement Squadron

5 patrol boats (like OFP PBRs)

15 men, 5 NCOs, 2 officers

Naval Security Detatchment (acts as security and marines)

2 officers

8 NCOs

48 men

organized and equipped like a light infantry platoon

3 BTRs or MT-LBs available

Nogovan Admiralty

Office of the Commodore - Naval HQ

1 Rear Admiral (Commodore)

2 officers (aides)

4 NCOs

10 men (drivers, aides, radio operators, etc.)

Naval Support Service - provides personnel services to Nogovan Navy.

2 officers

5 NCOs

17 men

Naval Base Service - provides supply and maintenance services to the navy.

3 officers

10 NCOs

30 men

Hi,

Current plans are for two main camouflage patterns, the tricolour fantasy pattern as an older pattern that is in the process of being replaced by the woodland pattern. This would provide a more easy way to distinguish reservist troops from active duty personnel than by minor details like beret emblems (which will be included).

Depending on any time left to spare, some other schemes may be added, such as a desert pattern or an urban pattern. No promises are made though about that.

Regards,

Sander

I've read somewhere earlier, that the reservists will be equipped like the current Resistance and have a similiar camo. So you've changed your plans or will there still be something like a "Home Guard" which will use Resistance-like Equipment?

That was never one of our plans. You must have read that in the army or government thread. We have no real affiliation with either.

What about Edge's Nogva something (don't recall the exact name, but it can be found in his guerilla addoon)pattern/colour, that might be a choice for older uniforms.
